Belly very tight

Postby Tara2009 » Mon Apr 06, 2009 4:04 pm

Hi Ladies,

Last week I found out that I am pregnant after ET on March 20. Ever since my ET, my belly looks bloated. It still does, and I feel very tight in my belly. Is this normal? The cramping has faded away, but at times I do feel some slight cramping. Does this stop at some time? My second beta is on Wednesday. I wish and pray that my HCG levels are high enough.

Hi Tara,

Congratulations!!! I think that what you're describing sounds pretty normal to me, specially if you just went through a fresh cycle, I would think that your ovaries are still swollen, just watch out for OHSS (although you're saying that you don't feel too crampy and I've heard that OHSS is quite painful).

The cramps will be on and off throughout the pregnancy (it's the baby growing, your uterus expanding, and the ligaments stretching). Also, it could be as a result of the progesterone shots, they can give a lot of different symptoms. Best wishes and happy pregnancy :)

Sounds normal. I had the same thing. I think it was because my ovaries were so swollen. But it's eased off over time.
