Hello ladies! I'm so sorry it's been so long since I've posted! Life has gotten so busy and I haven't been spending as much time on the computer. We were traveling quite a bit too. My DH got his PhD after 6 years of working towards it!
It sounds like everybody is doing well and finally starting to feel better. That is wonderful. For those of you who have had the sequential screen, what do they look for on the ultrasound? I have mine on Tuesday.
Are Julie and I the only ones with singletons?
Julie, have you noticed changes in your belly at all? I just feel like I'm getting fatter right now (could be all the extra food I've been eating that I probably didn't need!). Some of my pants are starting to get a little tight, but I feel like it's too early to start wearing maternity clothes...I am super curious to hear what you are experiencing! I did go an buy one of those belly bands, so I'm trying it out for the first time today. I went and bought some maternity pants for work as well. I knew I would need them eventually, so I thought I would get prepared. It feels weird actually buying maternity clothes when you don't feel like you look pregnant!
AFM, I have been doing very well. I have been super lucky in that I haven't had any morning sickness and I haven't really been more tired either. I don't know how I ended up being so lucky, but I'll take it! I had my last U/S with my fertility clinic about a week ago. It was so amazing to see how much the baby has grown. Our baby was moving around so much; it was so cool to see! The nurses doing the ultrasound really enjoyed it too because they don't typically get to do ultrasounds on a 10 week pregnant woman. My husband was desparately searching for a penis too, which was quite amusing. He used ultrasound on the hearts of mice during his PhD research, so he can see everything right away on the ultrasound. He is so afraid of having a daughter (the whole dating thing later)...it is pretty funny. He refers to our baby has him until otherwise proven. Truly, he will be happy if it's a girl too; I think most of it is an act!
This week, I go in for my first appointment with my regular clinic. I'm really looking forward to that. Finally, it won't be 1 1/2 hours of driving to go to the doctor. Tuesday I have my sequential screen. My husband will be going with me (I'm sure to keep looking for a little penis!); is it a typical transvaginal ultrasound for this screening? Then after these two appointments, I think it will feel like FOREVER until we are able to have another ultrasound. I've been quite spoiled with virtually weekly ultrasounds up to this point.
Are you guys feeling "safe" in your pregnancies? I had no idea how worried I would be about maintaining the pregnancy. I keep waiting for each week to go by. First the goal was 8 weeks, now for me it's 12 weeks. I am just wondering when the fear will go away? Anybody have any insight? I know many of you have already passed the 12 week mark.
I hope you all have had a nice weekend. Again, my apologies for taking so long of a break. I will try to be better!
