Wow, this thread has been really quite for a few weeks. Hope everyone is OK and just off enjoying their pregnancies and doing fun things!
myc,
BRMommy2B,
Gamergirl/CK,
Rachel - how are you guys all doing? Have you had many scans/appointments since the thread was last active?
Rachel and
myc - how are our twin Mums finding
m/s? Hope it's been manageable.
Karen - I replied to you on the Winter Cycle Friends thread on your PIO question.
AFM, I'm feeling much more human now that I've hit the second trimester. I'm still having
m/s but since 12 weeks it has settled into a new pattern of being better by day, and bad from about 6pm onwards, but after weeks of not being able to get anything done or go out of the house without my sick bucket glued to my side, I'll take what I can get! Otherwise, there's not too much to report. After our private nuchal scan, I saw the midwife at 12 weeks for her to take a whole series of bloods, but nothing exciting happened at the appointment other than I found out that my blood pressure is a little low (100 over 70 - what are other people's, out of interest?). I don't see the midwife again until 16 weeks and I don't get another scan until 20 weeks.
DH and I have started thinking about trying to plan holidays/breaks between now and September - we're hoping to get away abroad somewhere at the end of April (with our golf clubs for some golfing, while I'm not too big to get round a course comfortably in the sunshine!), and then going somewhere in this country in July for a week when we can just chill out and rest up before the baby arrives.
I had a little shopping trip this week as I figured that I ought to get around to buying a maternity bra, not because I thought I'd grown in that department but because I've read everywhere that you shouldn't wear underwired bras when you're pregnant (can cause a blockage in the milk ducts, apparently) and I don't possess any bras of the non-wired variety. So I decided to get a bra fitting, and confidently told the lady that I'm a little bigger but don't think I'm that much bigger than I was before (which was a 36B - I think US sizes are the same as in the UK?). Uh, not quite, apparently I'm now a 36D. D???? I never thought I would hear that letter applied to my boob size! I'm still in shock... For other clothes, I'm now too big to do up my jeans and trousers properly, but not really big enough to wear maternity clothes yet, so for the time being I'm leaving zips undone and holding the buttons on jeans together with an elasic hairband, and covering things up with a long top - what a fashion statement!!
Take care everyone, hope to hear from you all soon,
Hazel
