Hi Dolly. Please don't give up hope. We had our first cycle abandoned due to lack of response to the drugs (that was really disappointing) and the next ICSI failed for no apparent reason, the embryos just didnt want to stick around for some reason.

I never thought it would work in a million years, and I truly expected to have to give up at the end of this year. We could only really afford one more try.

BUT, second proper attempt, although third start, that little line appeared on the test and I couldnt believe it. Felt exactly the same all the way through the 2ww as when it failed.

Don't give up - it is just amazing when it works. The thing you need most I think is patience. Wait a while then do it again - there's no reason why it wont work out for you.

I hope you soon feel a bit better ( you will I promise ) and can get excited about attempt No 2 (you will!!!)

Lots of Love - Jo. XXXXX

Dolly
We were successful on our third ivf attempt (i'm now 37 weeks pg). I hadn't been entirely happy with the way the embryos had been transferred in the first 2 attempts and moved to the ARGC for the third go. It was going to be the last attempt, because I couldn't deal with more. I really didn't expect it to work, no one does I'm sure. So do try again. Most people take more than one try, and though devastating, you'll come through and know if and when you're ready to try again. Only YOU can know that.Make sure you're really happy with the clinic.

I wish you lots of luck and keep strong.

MAX

Dolly, like the others please don't throw in the towel yet, the whole IVF rollacoaster is an absolute nightmare, but it does work, this board is the proof of that.

It took us 5 attempts to get that beautiful blue line, it is still very early days (6 weeks Friday), but I can honestly say we are the happiest people ever, and the past failures blur into complete insignificance - hard to believe but true!

I wish you all the luck in the world!

Lots of Love

D x
Me 34, DH, 37. Married for 11 years, ttc for 6+, failed 4 x fresh IVF tmts. 5th attempt at Lister Hospital gave us Megan on 5 April 2004 with a very straightforward pregnancy and labour. Attempt number 6 to start hopefully September 2007!

Hi Dolly,
We've done 3 IVF cycles - the first didn't work, and on the second, after every possible problem happening, we got pregnant only to loose the baby after we'd seen the heartbeat on the first scan. That was in early November and at that point I told myself that I could not and would not, go through that again. However, we gave ourselves time to grieve and started treatment again this July. I am now 7 weeks pregnant and despite still having problems, am glad we tried again - just having hope keeps you going.
Let yourself have all the natural feelings you are having, and despite the cliche, time will help you decide whether you want to do it again. I wish you much luck in whatever you decide - just take care of yourself first.
Zoe x
