Becky

thanks for that and you are of course right as always! I wake up every day and am so grateful I am pg - my colitis is starting to improve and I am very happy with things - it's all so exciting and am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat on monday. I haven't heard it yet. Shell - well done you - why shouldn't you have - I bought an outfit in France as I knew we wouldn't be back there in a while so thought sod it - really buying that was not going to change anything.
Haven't got anything else yet - waiting for the 20 week scan but am going out at lunchtime to buy this mag from smiths which has all the baby products in as slowly want to start investigating push chairs and baby seats etc - we want to take our time!
Love to you both
Tracey
xxx
Morning Becky,Shell, Tracey ..... I have made a pact with myself to try very hard not to waste this happy time worrying. Had a bit of a worry last week when I imagined for some bizarre reason that my pregnancy had stopped but am determined not to be so silly again!!

I haven't bought anything yet but I agree with Tracey - it can't change anything buying a pair of socks or a babygrow .... and they are so small & cute I've wanted to buy them for years anyway so as soon as I get the urge I'm gonna go for it!!

Do either of you know the sex of your babies?? Do you want to?? I think I'd be more excited knowing but I'm not 100% sure. What does everyone think?

Jo.XXXXXX

Jo

hiya - how are you? Keep meaning to e mail you. Perhaps we could time some cyber shopping together. Jo I am having a nightmare - just can't seem to work - it all seems so pointless - apart from needing the cash but can't be arsed and in a sales job..... ho hum!
We are going to ask the sex at the 20 week scan - can't ask before that anyway as that is our next scan after the 12 week which is too soon to tell.
If for some reason baby badger is playing up then it's not the end of the world if they can't tell us but our thoughts are we would like to know. Mum wants to know and not Dad - that should be fun with my Mother - she is bound to say something accidently on purpose!
What do you plan to do about sex - (baby that is not the other - that is up to you my dear!)
Glad you are all raring to go and relaxing.
Love
Tracey
xxx
PS anyone heard from Hope

Tracey I'm just the same. Got lots to do and lots of things I'm behind with at work but somehow the motivation isnt with me at present. Away for 2 weeks on saturday (cottage in wales - cant wait) and so I need to be frantically trying to finish everything off but .......nope, it just doesn't appeal. Usually I'm a big worrier about work but now I have this underlying calmness that it isnt the thing that matters the most - it's quite strange cos I've been a 10 hour a day girl plus saturdays plus extras since I started working here when I was 19.
Weird for me to feel like this but I think I'm starting to like it.

For the first time in my life I can say that if I didnt NEED to work for the money, I simply wouldnt. Will you go back to work after? Again, I think I really will have to but if I'm going to cut my hours as much as I can get away with, perhaps do 4 days a week. If my husband should by some miracle get a 50% payrise then I wouldnt.

With regard to the baby's sex - I think I couldnt resist knowing. We probably would let it be a surprise for everyone else though.

It's so hard not telling people. It was my birthday yesterday and so I was with my sister and my auntie (who's my "mum" 100%) and she kept telling me I'd lost weight and I was thinking "not for long!!!" but didnt say anything. Glad the 12 weeks will soon be up cos I think I might spontaneously combust if I have to wait any longer!!

Gosh this note has turned into a novel as usual. Speak to you soon.
Jo. XXXXXXXXXX

Jo

Did you tell your mum- if so how did it go? - we were the same with telling people - I am getting better at secrets but honestly this really was a tall order. Was so relieved to tell people - made it seem more real. As for work - really getting fed up with recruitment after 9 years and can only do 4 days minimum here but the hours are like 8 to 6 and I don't fancy that with travel. we need the money for the mortgage etc and the 2 step children and the lazy cow of an ex wife but was hoping to try and to something from home. Oh well have time to think. will def try and find out the sex and of course I will tell you lot.
Happy Birthday for yesterday - so sorry I missed it - didn't know - mind you you are a spring chicken compared to me - anything nice for birthday apart from birthday bump! Wales - ooo i will miss you - will have to keep you posted.
Lots of Love
Tracey
xxx

Martean ..... you WILL be here soon. I was just the same as you, never thought It'd happen for me. One day it just does and wow!! you can't believe it. Keep being patient and you'll do it. This is not easy I know. Best of Luck.XXXXX

Tracey - no, we haven't told anyone yet (except our bosses who had to know really cos of the treatment time off, etc). I really want to tell people but also we have really enjoyed having this BRILLIANT secret - I'll kind of miss that once everyone knows. I wonder how long we could get away with it for?? 5 months?? 6 months??? Would be quite fun!!

Must be awful to have a lazy ex-wife you have to pay for. Still, at least now she doesn't have one up on you having had children with YOUR man!! He He He - justice!

My boss is so lovely, I think he'd let me work things the way I wanted within reason - he's totally family-minded himself and is always telling me that the baby is far far more important than any work-related thing. Might try and work aa bit from home - it's hard to know how you're going to feel until little bubba arrives I'm sure. Could do with winning the lottery though (better start buying a ticket first I suppose)

Now we've got way ahead of ourselves with shopping, etc, what about names?? Got any favourites?? I like James and Ruby (well, James OR Ruby as it happens) but I'm sure I'll change my mind a thousand times!

Lots of Love - Jo.X
XXXXX

Becky

what a precious blanket that must be! I will shop after the 20 week scan though we especially bought the jacket in France which I am pleased about. As for you - time will ensure that you make the right decision. What a lovely offer and you know the offer is there - it is still so much to think about but you are still getting over your loss.
You will I am sure come to the decision that is right for you and craig.

Jo
Names Ruby James - interesting combination!!! I like Jack and Harry for boys - like Benjamin and Oliver but my friend has just called hers that! Girls - Emma and Hannah and Isabelle (though my brother has called hers that) - haven't got much further than that - will get a baby book.
Anyone know where on earth to start thinking about prams and car seats - have thought might start at john lewis or something and start just looking but are they any catalogues or magazines? Jo what are you doing re this?
Have to do a spot of work this morning - god!
Love
Tracey
xxx

Tracey ... well, I'm not so far with my pregnancy as you so we'll probably not think about prams, etc til after Christmas (might get a bargain in the sales).

I have looked at the baby stuff in shops before and never dreamed that I would NEED to look for that king of thing for real - it still amazes me.

The price of decent pushchairs/prams is horrendous. Personally I have even thought about getting a second hand one, provided that it was in excellent condition. I just think it's something you could save a couple of hundred pounds on that could be put to better use. Obviously a car seat needs to be the best you can get.

Clothes are the most fun bit to buy - gosh some of them are gorgeous, especially the girls stuff.

Speak with you soon . Jo. Tracey,

I was a bit of a sad anorak and bought The Which Guide to Baby Products. I have to say though it's been really useful, as it gives the pros and cons for all equiptment available. Lets face it you could make some costly mistakes. It also recommends some particular brands.

Well just thought I'd share that.

Suzanne.x
