Hi Emma

I can't believe you're at 26 weeks already!

In theory, you should be able to have a normal delivery if Twin 1 is head down. Having said that although my son (Twin 1) was head down, my daughter (Twin 2) was always transverse and I was worried that she wouldn't turn during delivery. So I had an elective caesarean 'cos I didn't want to go through a normal delivery for one and a caesarean for the other. I've since found out that it's quite rare to have to go through both so with hindsight, I probably could have a normal delivery.

I think with twins, you have to keep your options open - it may be necessary to have a caesarean for safety reasons.

Jules

Hi Emma

Even though I don't speak from experience like Julies!! I too think that only twin 1 needs to be head down for them to consider a natural delivery. My two are both head down and have been throughout the pregnancy. However, my consultant still wants me to have a c-section. I'm going to resist as much as I can but at the end of the day, I think we have to stay flexible and do whatever is best on the day!

Wow - 26 weeks, bet you can't believe it.

LOL Helen xx

Hi Louise

I cant really ansewer that one for the simple reason that from the word go I suffered with OHSS and had a lot of swelling/fluid.

I'm sure though that if the scans and heartbeats are fine then all is ok, there's still time for you to explode soon!

Take care
Emma
x

Hi Emma

Ideally I think they should both be head down but it's twin 1 that they go by to decide if you should be able to try natural delivery. I think twin 2 can turn and follow once number 1 is out the way but I've heard a lot of stories where women have ended up with an emergency c.section to deliver number 2 after going through all labour & birth of one.

I decided I wanted to have a planned c.section as soon as I knew I was having twins but looks like I would've had to anyway as twin 1 is breech.

My waist now measures 56"!

All the best,
Luv Rachel X

Louise

I wouldn't worry about the fact that you're not showing yet, everyone is different and show at different times. I must admit I couldn't do up my normal trousers by about 11 weeks but that's just me. I'm sure the midwife/hospital would've picked up if there was something wrong. Think of yourself as one of the lucky ones - I'm sure you won't stay tiny forever!! :-)

Helen xx
