Dagny

And of course all who are on this thread and side - Nikolas has asked me as her personal PA (no not p**s artist  ) to post this and Dagny I know you cruise the other sites (trying to catch me up) but wanted you too see this on the forum you are responible for and it makes it a bit busier over here!

A message from Hilton Hospital
Hello girls

It’s me again!

I’ve been good this week. I’ve not left my room all week and today is Thursday! I’m hoping my good behaviour will be rewarded to with a home-pass this weekend. I have friends who have offered to come and paint our nursery, so if they let me out I’ll be able to join the party (obviously I will NOT be painting, I will be sat in my rocker supervising….!!)

I know you are all intrigued about my knitting progress (Jules, Dagny & Zoe – I don’t know why you found it so funny!!!) well I have finished the back of one of the jackets. I’m waiting to be shown how to cast off and then I’ll start on the sleeves…..I sit here in my room at night watching tv and knitting away. One night I was still knitting at midnight! Its quite addictive once you get going – Helen you should give it a go. Its really therapeutic once you get going.

Thank you for all your lovely messages!

Traci – thank you for my fabulous parcel. How exciting!!!! You’ll be pleased to know that I have waxed and am now fluff free. I also have amazing smelling hair – just like when you’ve been to the hairdressers and beautifully cleansed skin. I’m so spoilt – thank you sooooooooo much!!!

Helen S – thank you for my lovely nail kit. I’ve had a lovely manicure and now have gorgeous shiny healthy nails. I feel more my normal self. I’m so spoilt and can’t thank you enough. You are sooooo kind and thoughtful.

Traci – I think I’ve found a new vocation – perhaps you should open another salon in Yorkshire and I can run it for you. I got quite into my waxing (not sure I could do someone elses Mary…….but I guess I could try, any volunteers for me to practice on??)

Lisa Ch – why exactly are they keeping me in here?? Is a damn good question that I ask myself every day…..I have grade IV Major Placenta Praevia, which means the placenta is blocking the exit. I had a bleed three weeks ago and the doctors are worried that it could erupt again so want to keep me here under observation until the babies are born. The risk is that if I have another severe bleed – it could be disastrous, not just for the babies but also for me. So I’m on total bed rest until the babies arrive. It just so happens that both the placentas have fused so mine is an even bigger mess than a normal placenta praevia.

I’m 30 weeks and two days now, and am hoping to get to 34 weeks and then a decision will be made whether to go a bit longer or opt for an elective caesarean. The longer I manage to keep them cooking in my tummy, the less time they will need to spend in the SCBU. So I’m trying to be good and do as I’m told (it’s not easy!!)

Funny you should say about your mum wanting Love Actually for Mothers Day – I was given that DVD for Mothers Day (from Arthur and Jeremy!!) and am watching it tonight – can’t wait!

You mentioned about nose bleeds – which is really interesting, because I went through a phase of having nose bleeds and I’ve never had one before. Not big ones, just this feeling of needing to blow my nose and when I did it was bleeding. I think it’s something to do with the blood vessels being more sensitive than normal. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. My nurses don’t seem too worried and believe me, if it was anything serious they would be on to it straight away!!!!

Keep resting – slow down at work. You don’t want to end up like me!!!

Dawn V – good luck for your scan on 5th! Will be thinking about you. You’ll feel much better once that is out of the way and you can start and tell people. How exciting. AND you can start and buy things – even more exciting!!!! Jane Powertrack are gorgeous!

Sadly I’ve yet to see a dishy male doctor – we don’t seem to have a Dr Kovac or even a Dr Carter………I’m still looking though. Whilst they wouldn’t make a pin-up calendar they are all lovely and are being really nice to me and looking after me.

I miss you all loads – especially my lovely PA - Tracey S!!! What would I do without her? Keep posting girl, you’ve got to post for us both now! Have you started having conversations with yourself yet?? Good luck with your scan (1st April!!) I’ll be waiting to hear all.

The rest of you take it easy girls, remember don’t go overdoing it. Miss you all lots and hope you are all healthy and happy!!

Love Nikola.xxx

Hello

I have just finished cruising the boards as you put it, Tracey and was going to reply to this on the other forum but I will do it here instead.

My special cycle buddy Nikola

I do hope you are being a good girl and not giving the hospital staff too much gip! I know how hard it is beeing cooped up for weeks but you win the prize for longevity courtesy of the NHS. I think I must get second prize.

As Tracey has probably told you the new forum is up and running which is great. I was feeling a bit lost wondering where I belonged on the boards and was floating around in cyber space between the forums but now I can post on here and not get in anyones way.

Did you get my card? I feel a bit of a cheap skate as others have sent you some goodies! Oh well, I may send something soon. I just hope your card got there before I send anything to the address I have just incase it is the wrong one. Let me know or your 'PA'.

Now how spooky is this? I have just finished writing this paragraph and the postman just came with your letter and lovely card of the Yorkshire Dales!!!!! Thankyou so much for replying to me and by hand no less. My arm was killing me after writing your letter. It's much easier by computer isn't it?

I am slowly trying to come to terms with Katelyn's death and it is not easy. Each day is a new one with it's own problems and I go and visit her grave eveyday. I do miss her terribly and also being pregnant. I should still have her in my tummy safe and sound. I miss her little kicks and facing the future without her is awful. I cherish every moment that I had when she was still part of me and I am so proud of how wonderfully beautiful she was. I cherish the photos I have of her and the little footprints and handprints. She will always be in my heart and I will never forget my first born and I just hope and pray we have the chance again to become parents. That IVF slog is ahead of us again now which makes me sad as I can only dream again of having a beautiful baby in my arms to love and cherish.

I am in a bit of a state now so I will sign off. You take care of your special babies my friend and I look forward to hearing more news from you soon.

Lots of love and hugs from Dagny xkx

Keep up the knitting

I had a miscarriage Feb 2002 at 14 weeks and thought life was so cruel. I am now 18 weeks pregnant and although I have found it hard to be excited just in case, myself and hubby are starting to relax a little bit and are enjoying each day that bump grows. Each extra day is a godsend and here's hoping that there
is a happy ending this time.
