Thank you for the welcome.
We are doing OK, Amelia is very good she goes 3-4 hours between feeds and is a happy, cotented baby in spite of all that she has been through. I will give you all of the gory details when it becomes more comfortable to sit in front of the PC!
I have an infection in the section wound, am on antibiotics and am slowly improving but walking is still incredibly painfull.
However, the joy of looking at my beautiful baby girl outweighs the discomfort and I just feel incredibly lucky...
Speak again soon
Our love to you all
Lorraine & Amelia

Hi Lorraine and Amelia. The pleasure we get from our ivf babies never goes away. I'm looking at my watch every 5mins as Maya will be home in the next half an hour or so. Now she can talk a little she squeals 'mamma' as I open the door and holds open her arms. I cry nearly every single time!! Enjoy your moments, it's a real cliche but it's unbelievable how much quicker time passes once you've got a child.
Sorry to hear your scar is causing you problems. I had an unexpected problem with mine, somewhat ironic really. I was allergic to the dressings but assumed it was natural to feel the pain and irritation. There were no mirrors and I couldn't see it over my tummy. It was only 2 days later that a nurse, when changing the dressing, said 'oooh, that doesn't look right' that I found out I'll always have 3 c-section scars! The main incision plus one on either side, running vertical. Luckily I still can't see it!!!
Congratulations on the birth of your baby, we're all incredibly lucky.
hugs
Debra.

To echo many many congratulations - Amelia is a lovely name. We have all been through so much to get pg in the first place and then the birth !! It's such a life-changing thing!
Our little girl is now 8 months and we just do not know where the time has gone from that tiny little helpless thing to such a knowing, smiling, loving, comical little cherub. All I can say is that it's great in the beginning but it just gets better and better and more and more rewarding every passing week and month. When she's a bit older you will really look back on the very early days and treasure each little memory ( and wonder how you survived some days .... and some nights !!!!)
Lots of Love - Jo. XXXXX

Welcome to the world Baby Amelia and congratulations Lorraine - I hope you're feeling a bit more comfortable by now. Jay's now 10 months old and it just gets better and better! In the beginning i was so worried about everything and it took me a while to get really used to being a mummy - i think I went through my maternity leave in a fog of constant worrying over everything - routine, feeds, sleeping etc etc, so I thikn I spent more time worrying than remembering. I took photos of Jay every month so we could always remember his stages - when we could look back and remember instead of worry!!! Enjoy it all - wishing you many laughs, hugs and precious times with your baby girl,
love Sally xxx
