Alexander and Nadia are one year old

Postby Juliana » Fri Sep 23, 2005 9:00 am

Well girls,
It seems like yestreday I was logging on this site every day for pregnancy support and advice and now look it's a year later and our lovely twins are one year old. Like Tracey, I hardly have no time to go online but wanted to share with all of our the joy of their first birthday. DH and I looked back this morning and thought of all the trials and tribulations of IVF and my not so easy pregnancy and were so happy to see our energetic bundles of joy, well grown at one year!
But hey, there is always something. Just as I was feeling mildly complacent about them being generally ok and not ill too much and all that, there goes Alex standing up next to the coffee table and falls back on his head, not for the first time, but then he threw up and I freaked out! So we had to go to the doctor for the first time with him, right on his birthday. She thought he was reacting ok and he did not fall from high, but still, we had a little scare. He is in his cot now and later today I hope he will be better and we can celebrate. I feel so guilty, and yet hope it will be ok, like with so many instances in parenthood , we cannot prevent everything and there is always some challenge. but I would not change this life with them for the world! So my best wishes to everyone on this site, thanks for the support and for being there and lots of love from
juliana, Alex, Nadia and dh

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NADIA!

Wow, Juliana, I can't believe that you have two 1 year olds. I hope that Alex's head recovered and you were able to celebrate their birthday together.

HI there,
WOW!..Congratulations on the birthday of your twins, this is a huge milestone for them, and also for you and dh as parents. The guilt of parenting (and mothering I think) is all consuming, we beat ourselves up A LOT!!!, I know I do. Just know that we are doing the best job we can, and that our children will grow to know unconditional love, and at the end of the day that's what its all about.
Have a fantastic day

thanks so much Jules and Bel! Jules I also cannot believe that I have got 1 year olds! Alex's head indeed recovered and he got up after his little nap (I was scared to let him sleep but he was so tired) and we had a nice day and a great party on the next day. He hit the candle on his cake instead if blowing it but he put it out quite well in his own wild way. God they are getting wilder! I remember you Jules writing that Charlotte got much less angelic as she grew up, I can relate to that. Alex is quite wild and does not pay any heed to the word no and Nadia although generally sweeter is developing and technique of poking him in the eyes when displeased with him :) I am most amazed how the little angels are turning into little misschief makers!
Bel, you daughter's birthday is coming up too, any big plans? I thought I was keeping it small and ended up with 6 adults and 5 kids which was the most chaos I have ever seen. The joys to come!
love,
juliana

Hey Julianna,

Glad that Alex recovered suitably to be able to enjoy the birthday cake..No what you mean about wild children..Annie is adorable but sure is getting energetic!..Annie turns one on the 8th of November, we are planning a BBQ up at the park not far from us, as the weather is getting warmer already though we have decided on a breakfast BBQ. We keep thinking of people we really "should" invite, but don't want it to get too big..The good thing about it being at the park though is that our house won't get too crowded or trashed by the whole affair!..
Take good care and congratulations again, it's a HUGE milestone for your family!
