Hi,
I am replying on behalf of my wife (Vickyp) as we are still without internet access at home following our move.
Vickyp is doing well with the exception of painful hands while sleeping! Getting this checked out today.
We both wanted to thank you all for your good wishes, and we will keep you updated.

Hi there.
Great news; We have a 7 pound 15 ounce baby boy called Oliver!! Born at 5pm on Saturday 29 April;
Vicky went into labour at 10pm on Friday. Had an Epidural at 7am Saturday and waited to fully dilate. Started pushing at 2.30pm and after nothing happening for an hour and a half, it was concluded that the baby was on its side and not keen to come out;
Vicky was taken to theatre where very stressfully they tried both suction and forceps before performing C section. Luckily as Vicky had had Epidural she did not need general anaesthetic so was awake.
Vicky is OK but still in hospital because the baby has quite bad jaundice, primarily due to the severe bruising he suffered from the suction and forceps. I am sure Vicky will be happy to discuss what we think of our treatment at a later date. With no sleep in the previous 36 hours and never been in that position before you feel you do not have much choice but to go with the medics advice...
He has already had a treatment of antibiotics and a full day of overhead UV light in incubator. Hopefully the worst is over now and he is just on a UV "billy blanket". There is a small chance we could get home tonight but probably will be another day...
Thanks again for your best wishes. Vicky will be in touch soon.

Congratulations Vicky and Glyn and welcome to Oliver!
It sounds as if the hospital experience left a little to be desired. I hope that Vicky and Oliver are home soon and you can enjoy being a family together.
