Needed a safe place to go...

Postby mindaharrison » Wed Jul 20, 2005 3:29 am

Unfortunately I think that my sig. should say it all. I am finally fed up with the roller coaster ride. After 7 years you would think that I would jump off at the first opportunity, but the closer I get to the end of my journey through infertility I do get sad. It is a roller coaster that I have gotten used to. We have decided to try IVF up to 3 times when Dh returns from deployment (we are military) and then we will let it go. This is for my sanity and for his, but it is sad to think that we are nearing the end of this chapter in our lives. There was always hope and it is dwindling. I really am not even holding out much hope for IVF but who knows what God has planned.

It is hard to explain this concept to anyone who has not been there and my sister has just really begun her journey with endometriosis (ttc 2 yrs) and is only now realizing what I have been through for all these years.

I have been a member of numerous boards throughout the years and have drifted in and out as my sanity required. :) I have been in need of a few good shoulders to lean on lately and thought I would give it another shot.

I thank any of you who made it through this post. :) And just ask that you bear with me for the next little while until I get past my "moppy" stage. :) It is especially hard when Dh is deployed and most of those that support me during that time are mothers, it just hard to get away from the fact that I am not.

Thanks again! and God bless all of you!

Hi

You sound as if you have really been through the mill. If you post this on the general forum you will get more people looking at it, most people seem to hang out there.

Take care

IVF

Postby Lavender » Mon Sep 25, 2006 6:35 pm

Hi mindaharrison,

I have a friend in Australia who had success on her 8th attempt of IVF. She was 38 years old. Now she is 9 months pregnant. Everytime I get depressed I keep telling her story to myself and then feel a lot better and encouraged. I am sure God will be merciful on you soon. Goodluck

DONT GIVE UP HOPE

Postby peace4all2c » Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:51 pm

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND FOR YOU COURAGE AND STRENGTH FOR FIGHTING FOR OUR EVERYDAY FREEDOM. YOU ARE THE HEROES WE ADMIRE. SEEING THAT YOU HAVE SO MUCH COURAGE, AND STRENGTH SHOW US THAT NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HANDLE. GOD WILL NOT GIVE US ANYTHING WE CANNOT HANDLE. I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND YOUR SADNESS, FEELING ALONE WHEN YOUR HUSBAND IS GONE, AND NEEDING SUPPORT. WE ARE SCHEDULED FOR INVETRO IN OCTOBER. IT IS A LONG HARD ROAD, AND IT TAKES STRENGTH. WE HAVE TO GIVE IT TO THE LORD, HE KNOWS WHAT ARE HEARTS LONG FOR. THE POWER OF PRAYER IS INCREDIBLE. I FEEL THAT IF IT IS MEANT TO BE THEN IT WILL BE. AND FOR US IF IT IS NOT, THEN THERE ARE PLENTY OF INNOCENT CHILDREN WHO NEED GOOD HOMES, AND WHAT BETTER THEN TO GIVE EVEN ONE CHILD JUST THAT. I KNOW IT IS NOT THE SAME OF HAVING OUR OWN, WHICH WE DESPERATELY LONG FOR.... HOWEVER I ENCOURAGE YOU TO NOT GIVE UP HOPE. TRY TO THINK POSITIVELY AND KEEP YOUR CHIN UP. IF YOU EVER WANT TO TALK FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME. GOD BLESS

mindaharrison-

Hey you have 3 tries that's still good! It's SOMETHING better than nothing. It sounds like your a fighter and your not giving up-that too is good! Your allowed to be moppy what you've been thru - scream if you want. Pillows really come in handy LOL! You have the strength in you obviously it has carried you so far. It's easy to be negative and pessimistic when nothing has worked but with the 3 chances you have it may!! Get all your crying and stress out as much as possible before the 1st try and start getting excited and thinking it may work!! if not go to the next. Your husband may be fighting for our country but girlfriend your fighting a battle of your own don't break now you've come so far! is it hard to swallow and get up off the floor?! Hell yeah but don't give up now you have 3 CHANCES!! that's still a silver lining

I wish us all lot's of baby dust ((((HUGS))))))

hello mindaharison

Just had to reply to your message as we are at the same stage. I'm having a small op in november to have my right tube removed and then are doing another treatment next spring. This will be are 3rd and final attempt. I have been told that i have a small chance of sucess and don't think I can continue on this rollercoaster indefinatley. Although I'm desperate for a baby I'm not in a major hurry to do the next cycle becauae if it fails that's it and I know that the acceptance journey is going to be a lot harder than the IVF journey. I hope that make sense.

Wishing a safe and speedy return for your husband.

God bless

I am so sorry to hear about your sadness. I know the feeling. Even though I have been going through this over a year, we have still had some pretty horrible dicoveries that have made our joursey worse. I always ask for success stories, because it gives me hope even when I feel that there is none.

A good friend of mine tried for 7 years with no luck. Even though she had no money or insurance coverage to try anything, she basically just gave up. Well, she now has a beautiful 6 month old boy after 7 years of nothing.

A coworker of my SIL gave up too. She adopted a baby from a teenage mother., a year later she adopted twins of the same mother (you would think that woman would have learned to use birth control) Now a year after that she became unexpectedly pregnant naturally.

You have been though so much. You need to do what is right for you and DH, but I wish you luck and success on your 3 tries of IVF. And I truly hope it will be one try!
