Hi everyone

Some of you 'oldies' may remember me (Loonpants, Dee, Wendy, JC, Miriam), but I've been posting for the last 18 months (I remember when the old site only had a couple of hundred postings!!!). Anyway, I'm due 25th November but for one reason or another havent managed to post for the last few months.

Have been catching up with Loonpants and Dee though, but there are so many new names on the board now, which is fantastic news. It's great to hear about all the recent baby news - it seems such an age when you're 1st going through IVF and now it definately seems like we're in the middle of the baby boom!

I feel awkward posting as I don't recognise many of the new names but hope to now regularly log on and keep up to date with everyone's news.

Quick potted history for those I don't know - this was our 3rd attempt at IVF (2nd with frozen embies) and it really was 3rd time lucky!! Few problems in the early days with bleeding and severe pains but I'm so thankful to say I'm now here at 38 weeks and due 2 weeks tomorrow (oh my god!!!). We don't know the sex but at my last couple of antenatal appointments they've said it's a big baby (WHY do they say that? !!!!! - I can feel my eyes watering already!)

Anyway, I'm glad to finally log on again, catch up with everyone and hope to be in more regular contact in the future. By the way, what happened to some of the other oldies such as Miriam and Wales. Hope they're okay.

Off now to see if I can look at some of the baby photos.

Best wishes to everyone

Love JD

JD....welcome back!!!

Hope you remember me too, I was there at the beginning (the old board less than 100 postings!!) We were the first births and thank heavens we don't feel so alone anymore...and I know what you mean about a baby boom after waiting so long they all seem to be coming like buses!!

Can't give you any advice on the birth (Had to have a C-sectio under general 11 weeks early, may not have been such a bad thing!!) but any advice on after the happy event....just ask. We feel like real experts now they are 6 months old....NOT!!! One hting though...I really believe us IVFers do appreciate their babes that little bit more and they seem extra special. So enjoy your last few days with hubby rest...watch all that rubbish daytime telly (I am still addicted to countdown!!) and let us know as soon as poss about the happy arrival. We didn't know the sex either and it gave us something to really look forward to.

Big hugs to you all
Nicky

Hi JD, it’s lovely to hear from you, welcome back!

I’m glad you’re doing well, I can’t believe you only have 2 weeks to go, wow the time seems to have flown by altho’ I’m sure you don’t think it has.

The birth announcements are coming in thick and fast now (you’ll be next!) and it’s brilliant to read of all the success stories, it gives me hope and helps keep me going on this IVF marathon.

I’m not currently cycling but hoping to start my next attempt in January, it will be my 7th if you include 1 FET and 1 abandoned cycle due to lack of response. God am I mad or what!!!

Thanks for keeping in touch, I wish you all the luck in the world with the birth and am looking forward to hearing of your new arrival.

Lots of luv
Julie x
hi JD
Good to hear from another oldie - yes I am still here but don't log on very much anymore. I've now reached 30 weeks and have felt really well and have definitely bloomed pretty much the whole way through -very lucky! I have also been told it's a big baby (already) but apparently that's a good thing (but it does make you think about how it's going to get out, doesn't it?!).
You and Dee are practically neck and neck - looking forward to hearing some news in the next couple of weeks...
Really good to hear you're ok.

love Miriam xxx

Hi everyone,

It was lovely to hear from you all again, it seemed liked the old days!!!

Nicky - of course I remember you! I took a look at your piccies of Rebecca and Ross - they are so gorgeous, I can't believe they're 6 months old already. It makes all the struggles we IVFers go through worthwhile doesnt it? I'll look out for the Little Contented Baby Book, I've not heard of that one.

JC - I remember the struggles we both had earlier this year and really wish you the best of luck - it's got to be lucky 7 this time.

Wendy & Miriam - best of luck with your bumps. Miriam, like you, I've felt really well throughout, apart from a few problems at the beginning with bleeding and pains etc. Now, I just can't believe there's an actual baby inside. I used to prod my stomach just to feel it move and make sure it was okay!!! ( I can feel it ganging up already to get it's own back with a few sleepless nights!!)

Dee - let me know how you're getting on these last 2 weeks. We should be within days of eachother. I'm now getting to the uncomfortable stage with legs and ankles like tree stumps, which refuse to go down, even at night. Very attractive!! I'm also told the heartburn means it's going to be born with lots of hair!!

Anyway, I wish everyone all the luck in the world whatever stage they're at.

Love JD xx
