Hello
I had 2 perfect embryos implanted today and I am so excited! I am officially on the terrible 2WW. I will be POASING as soon as I can! Early next week so I can see it happening. LOL

Polly
Thank you so much for thinking about me. I do appreciate it. I am worried. I have been thinking about it. I try not to think about it. I think that it why I have negative thoughts here and there. I have no basis for them. They just happen here and there and drive me nuts. So you are having yours done in a week? I know that you must be so excited about it. I know how I feel. It is the anticipation that is killing me! LOL.

Gargy
I am so glad that you are doing well after your surgery. I know it is so much harder for adults to go through that. Did you eat lots of ice cream? hehe. That is really horrible that your DH's step father has lung CA. That is such a terrible way to die. I feel so bad for him and your family. That is just terrible. You have so much going on at all times in your life...just like Polly said...too much! !! Poor baby with all that cold sores and cough business. I hate cold sores...do you use Valtrex for them? It really does work wonders. I could stand to lose a few lbs as well. I am so hoping for a BFP that I cant even think about anything else right now! hehe Take care sweetie.

Polly,

Tick, tick, tick - it's getting closer and closer - I really, really hope everything works out well for you! Good luck!

Tanya,

I think it's perfectly natural for your thinking to be all over the place - high hopes then strong negatives - at a time like this. Again, all my thoughts and hopes are with you! Good Luck!

Well, I actually have been quite the socialite this weekend (so far anyway). I caught up with my best friend for dinner last night for an hour or so while her 9 yr old son was at a disco. He bought a star home for the both of us which I thought was cute (decorations from the disco).

Today I caught up with Mum and Nan for Mother's Day - I decided I'd rather stay at home tomorrow. Funnily enough 2 of my brothers caught up with Mum and Nan last weekend, and my sister and other brother were there today. I suppose it's not just me that has issues with these "celebration" days.

Actually DH's mum is very lucky she's getting a card after the cr@p she pulled last week. DH was very reluctant to get her anything and I wasn't going to push it (my new rule in dealing with this issue is it's his choice what he does. I'm not pushing him to do the 'right thing' anymore). Anyway I bought him with me when I got Mum and Nan's card, and he bought one and filled it in when I filled mine in today. It will be late, but too bad.

Anyway, enough negative, back to positive...tonight I caught up with some other friends - they have just moved homes, from the city to the suburbs. They are loving it, particularly the move from 2 bedrooms to 5. They have a music room, which DH adored!

Tomorrow I'm just going to potter around - clean up, do work for school and read through DH's essay for uni (I'm chief editor).

Have a happy day for hopeful mothers to be!

Hi just been reading through what you all have to say and find it amazing that you are all so great with encouragememt with each other. At moment feel like i cant talk to anyone asides my DH.

I an blessed to have two boys age 7 and 9 from a previous relationship and my DH also has two boys in their 20s. We have been together 6years.

4 years ago we had a vast reversal done and results were a fe sperm but not many. tried for a few years praying that it would happen naturally but went back to consultant in dec and decided to start ivf, have just this week recieved results that there are no sperm to work with.

Both Dh and I are gutted, doesnt really make it any easier that all 4 of our close friends are pregnant with their 2nd or 3 child (am very happy for them as they are great parents) we have been recommend to try tesa or pesa to retrieve sperm and have also spoke about DI.

i know ours is adifferent situation to most as we have children from previous relationships but the joy to carry my DH child and be with someone that cares would be truely amazing to both of us. have any of you had the tesa or pesa or can give me any advice?

Hi Joviwish,
Your situation may be different, as all of ours can be, but your situation can be just as difficult and real as anyone elses. All of our own hurts are what hurts the worst (if you know what I mean) This is very difficult to deal with no matter what the situation.

As far as Tesa and Pesa I was not sure what the difference was, nor which one my husband underwent, but he did get his testes biopsied and they did not find any traces. We did this as the same time I was getting prepped for IVF retrieval and would have used his sperm, if found, but we used the donor backup sperm instead. (I think they recomended this to avoid him having to go through this twice ie: one exploratory then one for IVF). DH was a little more uncomfortable then he thought he was going to be afterward, but they were pretty aggressive. Although it didn't work out for us, they do say there is a chance to obtain sperm in a fair percentage of people, so I am hoping it works out for your guys! Definitely worth a shot!!

Tanya,
Congrats on your transfer!!! The wait is difficult I know but try to relax (easier said then done I know) I will keep my fingers crossed.
My test will be 5/23 when is yours?

Polly,
Thanks for the feedback re: acupuncture so far it has been helpful emotionally and physically. Your time is approaching soon? By the way I read in your past post re: your concerns/fears. I can say I felt them too!! But I have to admit they went away one the baby came, so I hope that is a consolation for you.

All the rest... hoping for the best for you.

Hi Donna, thanks for the reply it does help to hear from people.

We were told that DH will only be having it done once, same as you said, to save going through it again, but they wont start prepping me for ivf untill they have his results.

Spent all day yest talking about DI with DH and how we will deal with that if they cant find any sperm (fingers crossed they will!!) what i find difficult is if we do have DI not being able to speak to people about it, DH is fantastic about the whole thing but would prefer not to tell people how we are going to do it asides my parents.

I do totally agree with him, the most important person to tell would be the child (if thats the procedure what we decide to do) when they are old enough to understand. I think we both feel that we will be judged if we do tell people as we already seperatly have children, did you tell many people you were using DI?

Hope everything is good with your test
:D

Hello All
Donna
Still waiting. LOl until the 24th. That is when my test is. I will be POASing before that but that is the situation right now.

Joviwish
My DH had a vasectomy many many years ago so on our first round of IVF he did PESA and they were able to get some sperm. 7 I think. It can work. We did have seven little embryos. As you can see from my sig line we did lose one at 12 weeks for who knows why. Anyhow the point is that it did work. We opted for DS because we talked about it and didn't want DH to have to go through it again. We are fine with it and no one in my life knows about it. I just do not want to say anything at this point in my life. Either way is fine...it depends on what you feel comfortable doing. This is a good place to come and get support.

Gargy
That is so cool that you have been out and about this weekend. That is really well needed I am sure. I am happy that you were able to do it. I love having good times with my family and friends.

Polly
Good luck to you this weekend. I am so excited for you and I am so looking forward to hearing how it goes. :)

Hi tanya thanks for replying, i am having a nitemare on this site!!
Cant seem to recieve any replies unless i actually go into the thread and check, thought i got an email to say there were replies???!! hence my late reply!!
Cant believe i cant even workout a message board!!

Sorry to hear of all your failed attempts and your loss, its all so personel and effects each person so differently. I had a mis carriage when i was 20 and i still remember every bit of it and wouldnt choose or want to forget.
I really do send you loads of luck for your dream.

Interesting to know that you did get some live sperm from DH op, we have decided to go ahead with it and pray for a good result, if it doesnt work have spent a long time talking about DI.
Think along the same lines as you after disccussing it with DH we wouldnt choose to tell anyone.

Have spoke to consultant and have to wait yet another 2wks for an appoint to disscuss DHs retrieval and then maybe a mth before op, just seems all we all do is wait.

Guys
I got a BFP on the HPT!!! I love seeing the digital PREGGO!!!! Woo Hoo. Now I still have to wait until next Thursday to get the result! All that time! OMG it is forever away! I am thrilled and sooo excited this is happening to me! So thankful! Wanted to share the good news.

Joviwish
I have the same problems. sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt and then I am behind. I understand....I would rec have donor available in case they are unable to get any that are useful so you dont have a panic attack. I didn't do it the first time and then I was so upset about it! Just a thought.

Polly
Almost there baby! Almost there! It is so exciting! Let us know how it goes.

Gargy
I am thinking of you this day...hoping that you are well.

Tanya huge congrats on your BFP

Not quite up to speed with the lingo so whats the HPT?? :?

Hopefully the tesa will work if not we have decided to go for DI, but consultant wants to do Tesa first before starting anything with me, as we will then have choice of ivf with DI or just artifical insem with DI.

Hope all goes well with your visit on thursday, time will hopefully fly by till then  and let me know how you get on.

Am of positive mind today as DH sent me on a day of pamper, so had a lovely massage and fab new nails for me, and even went to see my friends 2 day old son and thought this will soon be us :D

I know it can be hard. I had to do that as well and it was difficult. Good Job! let us know what happens! We will cheer you on!!!
