HAVE 15 EXTRA EMBRYOS IN PA--WHAT DO I DO WITH THEM?

After a very long {and expensive} IVF road, we had our little boy in December ---Now comes the big question --

What do we do with the extra embryos? We we very lucky to have so many viable specimens...........but paying for storage is expensive and we have to make a decision soon.

Does anybody have any ideas on what to do next? I've tried calling my doctor's office but they keep recommending destroying them.

Congratulations on your success of your little boy!!

I disagree with the drs office completely and suggest maybe donating the embryo's. There are lots of women out there willing and interested in using donated embryo's. Good Luck!

Keep trying getting in touch with your RE to let them know you want to donate them and they can find a match for them. Or you could post something in the donor embryo forum as well.

Hi jm5mc5. I just came back from a doctor visit and did not get the news I expected. It seems that with my age and egg quality I need to do Donor Eggs or Embryo Donation. It would be a great gift for me to be able to receive your embryos. not sure if you have made a decision to donate your embryos but if you did I would love to have them. I can look into what is involved in the process if you are serious about donating to me. I would be most grateful. You are a gift from God and have a heart of gold to be considering this.

Have you spoke to your clinic about donated embryos? It would seem they may have a waiting list of some sort, same as for DE.
