Hi everyone:
Just got back from a few days visit the DH family in Chicago. I was hoping that by 12 weeks I would be showing but alas the bump is still almost un-noticeable. This is kinda bumming me out. I havent felt these flutters you guys are all talking about either. Should I be worried?
What site did you guys get your dopplers from? I am going to order mine this week.
IVF/ICSI 3/07 Froze All 36 eggs

Hello all

I am going to keep doing my countdown until I make it!!!! Only 5 more days! Woo Hoo. Ok I am over it now! LOL

Rikirees
Did you say this is your first pregnancy? If so it is so normal not to feel the babies until about 16-17 weeks. I would not be totally alarmed. You are still early girl. You should start feeling them at the end of the month...I got my doppler from www.bellybeats.com. I got the digital one so I can see the readout of the heartbeat and I dont have to count it. (just a nice little feature) Anyhow...I love that thing, I can listen and know that they are OK...It is a great source of assurance.

Steph
That is horrible that your midwife lady talked to you like that. I do not like it when I get talked to like that from healthcare professionals. I really do not like it. I hope that you get some answers from your doc. I think that it is a good question.

I hope that the rest of you are doing well....thinking about you.

Hey gals, hope you're all having a good day.

I went for another scan today at my RE's office. The baby is measuring 5 days ahead of schedule. It looked like it had tripled in growth since my last scan, 2 weeks ago. He said everything looked good. BUT, I thought he was going to release me today. I had already made an appt with my OB doc for next Tues. Well, RE wants to see me 1 more time, next Thurs. I'm not sure what to do. I really need to start getting prenatal care, RE doesn't do that, just scans me. Should I keep my appt with my OB so I can start getting my bp, blood and urine checked?

I go my doppler last Friday. I couldn't pick anything up on Friday night but I did on Saturday, really clear and strong. I counted around 165 bpm. It is SO AMAZING to hear the heartbeat and especially when you want to.

Rikirees - With my first pg, my dd, I don't remember feeling her until about 20 weeks. TansRN is correct, it takes longer to feel it the first time.

Steph - sorry your midwife talked to you like that. Sometimes they get so wrapped up in their job that they forget the personal side of patient care. Being nice is a requirement. :) Look at it this way, maybe she was having a bad day, got bad news or something.

TansRN, wow, 5 more days. Based on my LMP, I have 11 more days to get to that mark. I'm quite anxious myself. Based on CUA (size), I have 6 days. I've been very guarded with this pg, quite detatched. Not allowing myself to enjoy yet. I hope to start feeling better about it at 12 weeks also.

Jovigal, you can do both, RE and OB, i dont' think it is a big deal. Start going to OB if your RE suggested it. I mean mine said make an appt to OB but still I want to see you for scan for 2 more weeks.

I didn't have my urine checked when I went to OB. I actually went to 2 obs, because I wasn't sure which one i am going to choose. Both of them didn't do it. Is it common??

Malinka, normally, they will test your urine for the levels of protein and sugar. I think it's routine with my OB doc but all OBs are different. Maybe mention it at your next appt. Thanks for your response.

Jovi - I'm glad you and lil one are doing well. My lil one was measuring a day ahead Yours must have had one heck of a growth spurt.

Tanya - 5 days and counting. I am counting right along with you over here cheering for your 12 weeks to get here and then I know 4 days later I get there.

Rikirees - With first DD it took what felt like forever to feel her move about. With 2nd DD it was a bit sooner... This time who knows.. I hope soon but I will wait. They say that when they first start to move you don't feel them and at times you don't know it is actually them moving.

I look at it this way.. about the midwive... At that practice you have to see all of the Drs and midwives that was just my time to see her and now that is done I can try to make sure I don't see her again. I am awaiting my appt with one of the regular Drs there....and get my sono woo hoo!!!

MdTerry- Happy Birthday....and many moooooorrrrrreee!
RainRain- Happy Belated Birthday, hope it was a good one, do anything good?
Malinka- I feel the same tinglings all the time, I like to think it's the baby. My OB take weight (ugh) and urine every time.
Lisa- congrats on the new doppler...don't become obsessed (FYI that's why my DH won't let me have one)
Mommytobe- Welcome....enjoy...WOW the next 6.5
My2LNT- GL with sono!

Well I've been MIA due to crazy work...can't they all just leave me alone...anyway OB appt on Thurday, hopefully hear HB with doppler and my 1st trimester scan isn't until the 27th and I guess that's the next US...this is unbearable, I liked seeing beanie every week! I ordered paint and bedding set for room against DH's wishes, oh well I never claimed to be sane.

Hi ladies,

Nothing new to report here. I've been away and now I'm back in the states. No symptoms, movement, etc..., but the doppler keeps picking up the heartbeat, so I am happy.

I'm so glad that we've all been moving along this journey for so long together. We've had such positive energy to keep us happy!

Hi everyone,

Glad to see everyone is doing great. I've been shopping for preggo clothes like crazy and enjoying it. I just found out one of my sisters is pregnant also. She's one week ahead of me, how exciting. This should be a lot of fun to go through together.

Noodle thanks for the birthday wish. I took it easy, didn't do anything. Maybe this weekend I'll see a movie or something, nothing big.

No new news on me. I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow and I have an OB appt tomorrow with u/s and my girls are going so they can see the baby. They are so excited. I hope we can find out the sex tomorrow also.

My diabetes management is driving me crazy. It's really keeping me busy trying to keep my numbers in normal range. I'm getting an insulin pump so I can get continuous insulin which should help me manage better.

Well, you ladies keep up the good work and I'll post after my appt. tomorrow.

One of my friends got one of the insulin pumps and she had a great pregnancy with it. I think it really helped to stable her sugar levels. I hope that it helps you out too....I hope that your appointment went well. Looking forward to hear about it.

So glad that you are liking the doppler. I love it. I just leave it one in a quick second or two to hear how they are doing and try to pick up each one and then I am happy for a few days. I really enjoy it in these early days.

Noodle
YEAH!!!! You are past the major m/c point! I cant wait-Only 2 days!!!!!

Steph
Thats right girl You are almost there. I will be cheering you on as well! YEAH!!!

Well only 2 more days until 12 weeks are completed!!!! I am thrilled. DH and I are going out on a date just the two of us!!!!! Hey just as a side note what are you guys doing about sex? having sex or not??? Just wondering. DH and I have been talking about it. I have been a little nervous. Just wondering what you guys think.

TansRN- my OB and RE always said it was OK. My M/C unfortunately happened right after DH and I decided it was OK...not that it had anything to do with M/C but made us nervous. This time we've been having sex since we found out, have never stopped, usually 3-4 times a week...more than normal and everything is fine so far.

malinka- I never think I'm in the mood but DH has had some crazy mojo lately....he's never had any mojo before. You should definately do what DR said, mine (thank goodness) said go for it. The first few times it was weird because you feel everything more, almost scary, but good. Have fun!
