Kery - I know - how pathetic! I made my husband hide them until at least tomorrow. I don't know - I am up, I am down. I feel positive, and then again I feel negative. I think maybe it worked. Then I think there is no way it worked. I am a mess! :D

God - I hate this!

Oh well, I guess if it didn't work, we will try IVF next time. Uggghhh.

IVF

Postby stephjim » Thu Oct 18, 2007 2:41 pm

At what cycle do most doctors switch to IVF. My doc said he wants to try 3-4 IUI's and then do IVF. My husband has severe male factor so I am confused why he would want to try something that 9 times out of 10 is not going to work. I have done my 2nd IUI and will find out next Friday or Sat. I can't tell if I feel different this month or not. I know my breasts were not as sore as they usually are during ovulation, so maybe that is a sign? I don't know. What I do know is that if we have to do IVF, then I am going to ask the doc to do any tests he can to make sure that there is not reason why the IVF cannot work because I only get one shot at this.

Steph - You know, I think it depends on the doctor. My situation is kind of different though with having the polycystic ovaries. There are so many follicles and they just don't want to keep taking the risks I think of too many eggs ovulating. With IVF, they will only put the 2 eggs back in, so best case is we end up with twins.

I broke down and took the HPT today - bad move!!! It did not show I was pregnant. I know it is too early to tell probably, but I just need to be prepared for the bad news, you know? I had another nightmare about it all last night. I don't know why I am driving myself so crazy this time! I just feel like bad news is coming....

That is also why I want to do IVF. I just don't know how many more times I can keep going through these IUI's with no success. I know this is only my second one, but we also tried all the chlomid and that did nothing. At least with IVF, it is 50/50 for my age group at my clinic. But geez - it is expensive! I just feel like it will improve our chances substantially and also limit the # of kids we end up with in the end. I think even carrying twins for me will be rough.

So, that is my story today....

Hi ya

Tina take no notice of that HPT they are evil
I have heard so many times of ladies getting a negative then a positive with the blood test.

Steph
I am surprised that your doctor didn't send you straight to ivf seeing you have a severe male factor problem. Our doctor advised us to do isci when we found out the infertilty was from dh. I guess every doctor and clinic is different.

Well, ladies. I took another HPT and a BFN and then shortly after that I started what appears to be lovely AF. My doctor's office says it could be implantation bleeding and won't test me until Mon, but I am not holding out any hope. :(

Looks like I will be back on the pill for a few weeks and will start my IVF cycle early Nov with egg retrieval scheduling around early Dec. The doctor's office went over all the details with me. What fun.

Needless to say, I am down in the dumps today...

Hi All

Postby maineknitter » Fri Oct 19, 2007 7:08 pm

Hi All,
Sorry I haven't added anything in a week. I've been on vacation, and my dial-up at home is so slow that I rarely log on.

TinaO-that really sucks. I'm so sorry. That anxiety before and after testing sounds terrible. hang in there.

It is good you have a plan of action now. December will be here before you know it. Just think of the wonderful holiday gift you could receive!

I'm nervous to test on monday. I have a girls weekend this weekend, thank God. hopefully it will keep my mind off it a biy. i think i'll test before my husband gets back from his boys weekend. that way if it's a BFN, i can have my breakdown before he gets home. i feel like i've been such an emotional wreck around him over the past few months.

I'm reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It's helping me stay positive. It's kind of corny, but it's helping me, so i recommend it. during the IUI, i tried to visualize the sperm breaking through the egg. haha

Hi, everyone. Thanks so much for your support. I am feeling better now. I just have to accept it and move on to the next plan, you know? If IVF works, we will be pregnant by Christmas according to the schedule I went through with the clinic today. I don't want all of this to consume me, you know?

MaineK - I know what you mean about being emotional and unfortunately, men don't understand. I love my husband to pieces and he is a wonderful husband of which I feel very blessed, but I don't think he gets it at all. I think it is different because truly we are the ones who go through it all. They are they on the sidelines, but not going through it they way we are.

MK - did you test?? We are all rooting for you!!!

Sue - thanks for your warm thoughts today. They made me cry. It means a lot to have women like all of you that understand what I am going through and I feel blessed to have you all to share this crazy ride with!!

Kery/Steph - how are you two holding up???

Love to all of you and thanks for thinking of me. AF definitely arrived today, so I am on to the next step.

Hi Tina

Sorry it takes me so long to reply I think it's our time difference.

Anyway girl I am so sorry about the af   turning up. It really does suck!! When our isci cycle failed I felt like s### but after I few good crys and a couple of strong drinks I got over it. Its great that you already have a plan and ivf will give you a better chance. I know what you mean you can't let all this take over your life. This cycle I have just tryed to carry on and tryed not to think about it to much.

We are here if you need to let it all out.

Hello everyone. No luck for me. :( My period started on Friday night. Didn't see that coming. It was only day 24! I thought i'd at least make it through the weekend to test. It was such a bummer. My husband has been away and doesn't even know yet. It's wierd cause Friday i went for a walk and noticed how good i felt. my head of clear, no cramps, it was beautiful weather. things seemed to be perfect.

oh well. i'm over it now and am ready to try again. at least i was able to have a few drinks over the weekend with my girlfriends.

back to the doctor for my baseline ultrasound tomorrow or wednesday! this time it WILL work!!!!
