Hi
Yep I would be speaking to my RE too! If they don't do bloods how would there know what your body is doing? In my cycles I had at a least 7 bloods done before my iui and about 5 scans. Well ya never know it may just work!!!

My scan went well I was amazed at how developed it was for only 2 months. I have been feeling sick in the mornings then again at night. I go from hungry to starving in about 5 mins   So I'm trying just to snack on fruit in between meals. It took me a long time after having ds to drop the weight so it's not gana happen this time!!! Yep still on progestrone up to 12 weeks. My levels weren't to bad but my clinic likes to keep most girls on it for the first 3 months.

I am so glad that you and baby are doing well. I am so happy for you. I know I shouldnt have but I have to confess. I went out grocery shopping yesterday and I seen the cutest baby clothes and I had to buy them. Do you think that was not a good thing to do? I was so down and that just lifted my spirits a bit. Hey you know what. On Thursday my temp was 97.4 and then I got sick and got that fever on Thursday night then on Friday morning my temp was 98.4 which I was thinking because I was sick but then I got over that and on Saturday morning my temp was 97.3 and this morning it is 97.4 so I cant tell if I ovulated. Wouldn't my temp have stayed high if I ovulated and not come back down? Well I am not paying too much attention to this cycle because whatever can go wrong did. I really don't think anything happened. This is going to be the worst waiting for AF to show up then waiting another 2 weeks for ovulation then the main TWW to find out if it worked. Man this is torture. Well thanks for listening to me vent. You girls have been a lifesaver for me in this time of need. Thanks girls. Hugs.

I'm not sure about that one as my cycle worked off blood tests not temps and I'm not really sure how the temp thing works. Yea well all ya can do now is sit back and wait I hated that part.

oh Rainbowmoms-
Please stay positive... I mean I've been on the fertility rollercoaster for close to 4 years now and its hard to stay positive each month, but there's no way for us to know which time it's going to work.
I was quite shocked to hear about a 25mm after only 5 days. The other two sound more normal in size. And all we can do is hope that those contained eggs as well. I, too, thought it strange they didn't do bloodwork. So hopefully your meeting with the RE will give you some answers.
Now you and I are on the 2ww. And at this point I'm not taking progesterone. I guess since I've never conceived nor miscarried they don't feel its necessary in preventing a miscarriage. We have to keep each other posted.

Hey girls. how was everyones weekend. Mine was good. I did not think about the insemination at all this weekend. I really don't think I ovulated because my temps are down so that means nothing is happening not even progesterone readings. I spoke to RE this morning and he says that a bad response happens sometimes and can't be predicted. As far as bloodwork he says there is bloodwork he can do but by the time the bloodwork comes back which takes about 2 days you can just as well do an ultrasound. He did say that he would watch my cycle closer next month. He wants to put me on full dosage of meds this next cycle but not more than 450 iu per day. So we shall see. I am 5 days past HCG trigger and 4 days past IUI. Don't feel anything, but then I wouldn't knowing that you don't even begin to implant until 6 dpo. I guess I can have wishful thinking. I have never wanted AF to show up so badly until now so I can do a good cycle with more ultrasounds so as to not miss this one. Doctor also said he wants to check my FSH, Estrotial and Progesterone again. So I have to go in on day 2 or 3 of my cycle. We shall see why I did not respond well to the meds. I am thinking my FSH is out of whack. Not Hopeless, how many dpo are you? Are you feeling anything yet?

Hi girls-

I, too, had a good Mem. Day weekend. Dh and I went to visit some friends in VT. It was fun and the weather has been awesome!
My clinic says they measure ovul. from the night of the trigger shot. Which for me was May 19. And since then I've had majorly sore boobs and some cramping, bloating. But last month was the same thing- it was the first time I had sore boobs since ovul. so I was quite hopeful. But then AF showed up 10 days after trigger. And of course, due to the meds AF was really heavy... So this month I'm thinking the soreness is nothing more than trigger effects.
Rainbow- how often were they monitoring you? I know we're on different meds but I had to go in every other day for ultrasound and blood.

I only had one ultrasound the whole time at cycle day 12 and I think that was too late. I must have ovulated too early. This time I am going to make sure that he monitors me at least every other day. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you girl. Give us another BFP. Kery got hers now it is our turn. When I spoke to the RE this a.m. he was talking about putting me on clomid days 1-5 then 300 iu of Bravelle and 75 iu of Repronex days 6-9 and doing an ultrasound on days 6 and 9. Do you think that is a good protocol? Gees! with 375 iu of injectables a day I am going to be very uncomfortable with alot of eggs I am hoping. Well it will all be worth it if it gets me a baby.

Hi girls
Rainbow - That answers the question why they didn't do any bloods. My clinic does all there own blood work so the results are there the same day. How many iui's do you have to do before you can move to ivf? If this cycle didn't work we were moving back to ivf.

When I was on Clomid we only did an ultrasound on day 9 or 10 (because some women ovul. early)... but on the injectables we did blood/ultrasound every other day. And Kery, you're right, my clinic does everything in house so I always got a call within 4 hours with my next set of instructions.

Kery, I asked the doctor that the last time I was there as to how many IUIs before recommending IVF and he said that was up to me that whenever I felt I was ready to move forward. He did say that IVF and IUI with injectables was not very much difference in success percentage wise because as far as he can see there is nothing wrong with me. He says it is just a matter of timing and getting that good egg because of my age. However, I think that I will do another 3 good IUIs then move on to IVF.
Not Hopeless, I am going to have him do an ultrasound earlier than day 12 this time. Like day 9 the way they did it with you and see what happens. I really think for my age bracket that IVF is probably the best bet. I raised the suggestion to the doctor about maybe we should do an IVF protocol with meds than instead of actually doing EC convert to IUI. He seemed to agree. We shall see. I think for this next cycle we will just do the protocol I told you about earlier then if nothing on the July cycle we will go the whole nine yards with meds. Scary and Nervous! We really have to pat our selves on the back girls for going through all this.

You're right Rainbow- pats on the back all around. This is tough stuff!

Likewise, my doc can find nothing apparently wrong with me or dh. But the statistics show something like 5% chance with Clomid/IUI, 10% with injectables/IUI, and over 20% with IVF. So I don't like the doctor saying there's no differece. There's a huge diff, considering with IVF, the eggs will be fertilized. That's a step we've never reached, right?

I thank God our insurance is great, although we had to do 6 mths Clomid and now 3 months injectables. I know if we had to pay out of pocket we would've jumped right into IVF. Especially if you're paying for donor sperm on top of that.

But again, you have to do what is right for you and dh. Believe me, my dh and I have had many arguments because we don't agree on the same fertility treatment. I'm like "I'm the one who's body is getting ravaged here..." I think my opinion weighs heavier. It took me a long time to realize we're a team and hopefully this sucky rollercoaster ride will make us stronger in the end!

Ok, that's my rant for today. I don't know where you ladies are located- but it's gorgeous outside here in MA today!!! I can't wait to get out of work and do a little gardening.

Not hopless, I think my doctor is not correct in saying that there really is no difference. Well to me there is. At least with IVF I know that the eggs fertilized and developed into the 8 cell stage for a 5 day transfer. So I think I will start looking into getting on the list ASAP. My doctor says that if I want to start at the end or beginning of 09 then I better sign up now because the appt openings are way out there. I went in for my Papsmear today and when he was poking my tummy my ovaries were still really sore from the meds. I wonder if that is normal. Do you know?

Kery, any news on how that little bean is doing and how are you doing?

Not hopless, I live in Pleasanton California (Bay Area) it is gorgeous out here too. I went and sat outside at the fountain to eat lunch it was so nice. Oh, speaking of insurance mine only covers 50% which is not bad but not real good either. I still have to pay a chunk out of pocket. Especially for the sperm is 400.00 per vial and I have been using 2 per cycle. Lots of money coming in and going back out. :x

Hi ladies
I think you are right about the success rates. Every clinic has there own rates of success. My clinic takes it off how many live births develop from iui/ivf. My clinic is 15% for iui and 25% for ivf/isci. Pretty low really when you think of how much money people put into it. When I got pregnant with DS I only missed the pill for two days!! (11yrs ago) and look it took me four cycles to get a BFP with no fertilty issues.

Not hopeless you are right about working as a team, although it is hard. By the last cycle I was so over the whole travelling to the clinic, injecting etc that I just didn't even want to talk about it. I think I was just talked out about the whole thing. So on my last cycle I really just tryed not to think about it to much.

I am doing ok. I am sick for most of the day and feel like I want to vomit but luckily haven't!! I am not complaining but it is hard sometimes trying to make to through the day at work when you are feeling like crap.

I am in Australia. Have a great day :D

Wow Kery-
Australia huh? Must be winter down there. Well hang in there, the morning sickness will hopefully subside soon. My cubicle-mate is preg and was nauseous til nearly 5 mths.
Rainbow-
I guess every clinic is different, but why is there a 6mths wait for IVF? And yes, I think the soreness is normal, atleast that's what I experienced. Both cycles on the shots I was wicked bloated and sore from the trigger shot til right before AF. Then lucky me, the AF-cramps started right up after the bloating subsided! Fun, fun, fun. But i noticed this cycle that even sex was a little painful a few days after the IUI.
Honestly, I'm 10-11 days post-trigger and starting to feel AF-cramps... just like last month I got AF 10 days post-trigger. :( And I know we're all at different stages of this IF-rollercoaster but if AF does happen to arrive this week, I'll actually be glad to take some time off and enjoy the summer. In any case, I'll keep you ladies posted.
