Husband is a 2-time cancer survivor

Postby MrsAshley » Fri Feb 13, 2009 12:54 pm

Hello everyone,

My name is Ashley and I live in the US. I just married my husband last March (we had been together for 10 years!). Shortly after I met him in 1999 when he was 16 years old, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer). He beat it, but it came back a year later. He had a stem cell transplant and has been in remission since then..about 6 years now.

He had provided a sperm sample to be frozen before he had chemotherapy for his second battle with cancer, but we just recently found out that there were no sperm in it. Everything was probably destroyed during the first battle. He has recently taken 2 sperm tests, and nothing showed up on those either.

We're not going to give up hope. We were told that there is a surgical procedure that can be done where they go directly into the testicles to look for sperm. We're going to do that eventually, and if that doesn't work, we're not against using a donor.

I just wanted to say HELLO and I hope I get a lot of info through this site!

Thanks!
MrsAshley
