Newbie Here!

Hi everyone. I really struggled with joining an IVF forum because I didn't want to get caught up in the emotions of it all. I'm afraid of being more discouraged than I've already felt at times (although today's a good day!). My husband and I have been married 11 years and have been unable to have children (turns out I have endometrosis). We tried infertility treatments including IUI 7 years ago, found out I had endo, had the surgery, and then my hubby got laid off so we stopped treatments. I thought I was ok being childless all these years, but a few months ago, found I wasn't. So, we just started IVF this month. I had my baseline sonogram last Wednesday and unfortunately a large cyst had grown on my left ovary. They doubled my lupron to hopefully kill it, so we'll see when I go back this Wednesday. I wanted everything to go so smoothly, and to have a bump in the road right away was devastating for me. BUT I'm hopeful and look forward to getting to know people here. I also hope to learn a lot.

Hi Dogzrule
I joined this forum when we had our first IVF in 2007 and I have dipped in and out. The women here are amazing, knowledgeable, supportive and above all, they know exactly what you are going through!
Good luck! I look forward to reading your good news story in the coming weeks.

Thank you both for your encouraging replies. When I went back this past Wednesday, the cyst had GROWN! I was so devastated and knew they would have to cancel the cycle. A few hours later, my doctor called with GOOD NEWS! The cyst wasn't producing any hormones, and the doubled dose of lupron did exactly as he intended with my estrogen and progesterone levels (apparently the cyst itself isn't the problem). I started my FSH and menopur the next day and go in for my first sonogram for that tomorrow morning. Hoping and praying that my body is cooperating!
