Just missed you then - our appt was 2:30! Back Wednesday at 2:45 when hopefully they'll say Monday for ER! Although I'm not looking forward to 2ww!!

We've seen Mr Maguinnes and we thought he was great - he was the only one that told us the truth. No-one bothered to tell me and DH that DH's sperm count was dropping by the millions and that our FET was basically a waste of time as they said the eggs were good enough for ET although he more or less said they weren't good enough! As you can guess me and DH were not impressed and upset that no-one had told us any of this. They actually froze DH's sperm free of charge as we were really considering putting a complaint in (doubt we would have done, just because we were upset!). I think that's why we had a full year off before going through another cycle. Even though Mr Maguinnes suggested we try ASAP which put more pressure on us and almost broke us! But we got through it and agreed to wait until this year.

We've changed our lifestyle and not had a drink since DH's 30th in January!! Been very hard at times as we have a very busy social life with our friends! But we keep telling ourselves 6-7 months without alcohol will be worth it when we've got our baby in our arms!

Sorry went on a bit of a rant then! lol

We have been thinking of freezing. What happened that made the embryos not right for FET?

We didn't like him cos he was cold and didn't really give any answers. Prof Killick was always honest and open with us. Probably just caught him on a bad day!

We liked Prof Killick he was lovely. Although he didn't tell us what we should have known!

We had blastocyst with our FET and the eggs didn't develop as they should, but that's the risk with freezing eggs. They asked us again this time if we'd be interested in freezing eggs and DH said straight away NO - he didn't want us to go through the dreaded 2ww when they weren't good enough. Only good thing with FET is no stim injections! but you do have HRT patches!!

But don't let me put you off - plenty of people get BFP's from FET. Everyone's different aren't they. It just wasn't for us.

Hi, my name is Lynda, also at Hull IVF clinic...I'm 30, my husband is 39. Am currently going through ICSI, as husband has very low sperm count etc and i have ovulation problems. We have been trying for a baby for 5 years now........Have started the buserelin injections and start stimming injections on Friday. The down regulation side effects have kicked in within the last few days, with headaches and feeling grouchy and tired. No hot sweats yet....but am finding it difficult at work because my stomach has swollen up so much that i do look pregnant...and working in an office people do like to gossip. I asked the nurse if bloating on Buserelin was kinda normal, and she said usually your stomach swells on the stimming injections before Egg Retrieval....so great. What symptoms has every one else got ??? Anyway just wanted to introduce myself... i welcome the support xxxx

Hi Lynda,

Welcome to this board! Great set of ladies on here - they'll help you a lot.

I've not had any swelling with my stomach, although there's a good few bruises around my belly button, and it's quite tender. Got a few bruises from the stim injections as well.

I got a few headaches from the Buserelin injections and feeling generally unwell, although our mini heatwave we're having doesn't help does it!

My stomach was swollen after ER and ET but to be expected really after what they do!

Is this your first IVF/ICSI cycle?

Hi Vicky - Good luck this afternoon. Hpe you are still on track.

Lynda - you've found a great place for support. 3 of us from Hull now aswell. I was lucky this time with the side effects on both buserelin and stims but my stomach did swell with the stims, or is that the chocolate???
First time I suffered headaches quite a lot though. Good luck and keep in touch.

I have just had ER and we got 12 eggs. A lot less than last time but hopefully more mature. She offered us a choice between ICSI and IVF this time but we chose ICSI for a few reasons. Well, wait now til Friday to see what the verdict is. I feel fine now though.

Hi Ange,

I've wrote a big post on the June/July cycle, but basically I'm scheduled for ER on Friday! My follies had grown a LOT since Monday and they are worried about hyper sitmulation now, so I go on Friday for another u/s in the morning and then hopefully ER. They'll see how I feel over the weekend and then let us know what's happening on Monday. Hopefully I'll be fine and I'll have ET on Wednesday!

This is the first time I've had this. I've always had good numbers and sizes but never this many (28 follies and measuring 26 mm and under) so I'm a little worried, but nothing I can do so will just go with the flow. No point in worrying/stressing myself when it's out of my hands. IF I do hyper stimulate then they'll freeze the follies and we'll have a FET.

Me and DH have talked about freezing our follies this time. I know we said we were aganist it but it seems such a shame to get rid of good quality eggs!! Hopefully we won't need a FET though!

So you're feeling ok from ER? That's good news about 12 follies x Like everyone says on here - you only need ONE!

Good luck with ER tomorrow. What time is your apptmnt? Denise did my opo this time. Last time it was prof Killik. I hope it goes smoothly with lots of eggs. I only had 12 eggs for the 25+ follicles because I was cosated for nearly a week so I am sure you will get more.

Lynda - hope the first stim injection goes well. What dose have they put you on?

A big day for us all tomorrow them. I am getting nrvous about the lab result in the morning.

Thanks Ange x

My appt is 8:45 but I'll have a u/s first. I'm hoping my follies will have calmed down and stopped growing! I'm getting a little nervous now as well - I just want to know everything is ok or going to be ok! But I'm doing my best to not try and stress about it, just got to go with the flow.

I think it's Denise doing my scan in morning. Not sure what time I'll have ER. Will be resting for the rest of the day though!

I'm feeling so full and swollen now, these follies definitely feel like they need to be out! lol

What time's your appt?

Lynda - hope all is going well with your stims x

Gee - I am so sorry to hear your news. I have only had one failed ivf but I do understand how you feel. Give yourself time to recover. Do you have a plan for the next steps? My heart goes out to you.

I had news from the hospital that we have 11 embryo's so will have a transfer on monday.

Hope you are ok Vicky and it went well today.

Hi nice to hear from someone so soon.
11 embryos is a good result. We only had 3 this time and only 2 were of a decent enough quality to proceed with.
I hope you do well.
Am not sure that we will do IVF for a 3rd time. I think maybe twice is enough for us. Perhaps adoption is the way for us...
I guess it's too early to decide anything.
I'm 37 so not over the hill just yet

Gee, I'm so sorry to hear about your negative result. I know how devasting it can be and to think that you'll never be able to go through it again. Me and DH are on our 4th cycle. I've been in this morning for ER. You are definitely not over the hill at 37! You and DH need to rest and recover from this and think positively for the future x

Ange - great news about your eggs. We're gonna be 2ww'ers together! :D

New

Postby Lucy1952 » Fri Jul 10, 2009 8:27 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site, wish I had found it months ago. I'm awaiting my BT on Monday, can't seem to focus on anything today, yesterday, and problem untill Monday when I get that call. Just to give some info my hubby has a very low count and IVF with ICSI was the only option. I have no problems and produced very good eggs, had two transfered and 4 frozen. I wish I knew now and didn't have to wait for a nurse to call and tell me my future. So stressful, how do you all deal?
