WOW! Congrats to all the new twin-mommy-to-be's!!!! You're popping out of the woodwork! What fun to all be due around each other as well. That really helps the journey along and since my own twin are 21 months, it gets hard to recall what the schedule was in week 3!

Good luck to you all! I hope you all know you have to post pics!

I get more nervous everyday thinking that in 8 short weeks, or less, my wife and I will get to meet our new baby boys. I think the most nerve racking thing for me is the cost of formula and diapers. I've had alot of people tell me to not even try to pay attention to the cost of those things. They told me I would drive myself crazy thinking about it and to just go out and buy it when we need it.
Destiny is not a matter of chance, it's a matter of choice.

bigrediowan, a mother of twins that I know suggested to us to just pick up packs of diapers now (we're only 14 wks). Well I didn't think much of it but apparently my husband did! I get home yesterday and there are 2 packs of infant diapers! It was kinda freaky, lol! Because of course now I just sit around staring at these diapers :P . We'll probably pick up a few about as often as we go grocery shopping which is about twice a month. I guess it can't hurt? We also gave up on trying to budget and figure out what we're going to be spending. Like you say, we'll buy what we need when we need it.

thought this site might be helpful to everyone. It offers discounts to parents of multiples! Many of them you write a letter to and have a copy of the birth cert. but hey... free stuff is free stuff!

Congrats to all our new mommas! Wow! I don't pop in here much anymore...but I'll try to be more active. My kids turned two about 2 weeks ago. Those early days are such a blur! It's good there are so many of you to help each other out!

About the placenta previa--I had that around week 13. Scary as hell, but like you've figured out...pretty normal. Hope things are better now!

BIG RED--Woo hoo! Your babies are almost here! Don't stress about the $$$...it will get better. Has your wife joined your local twins club? That's a great resource to check out. My twins club is always so helpful to the new moms...check with your pedi's office about free formula. My pedi was always handing us free cans of formula. And, if you have a Sam's club or a Costco...you can save $$$$ on formula and diapers as well.

My doc didn't schedule my c-section. I had hoped to deliver vaginally, but baby B (my son) turned breech at 30 weeks. We never had a delivery date set. Just after 36 weeks, I developed pre-eclampsia. They did a c-sec right around 37 weeks.

Good luck to all of you! We're getting ready to "consider" potty training over here. Not committed, but considering. Now, that's a WHOLE other ballgame with twins!

BTW--Congrats to Kholtan! She had her third baby (a boy--Brayton) last week. She's a busy gal!

Hello all! Just wanted to pop in and say hi since I have not checked in lately. Gets a little busy around here with two moving babies. They are almost one!!! I can not believe it! Size 4 diapers and those seem a little tight on one of the girls?? Who knows!?

But Kholtan has a cute baby boy now ("Naturally")! He is a doll. Congrats to her!!

Not much to report, but there are sites out there for people with twins so you can get things discounted. Ask your doctor about formula clubs for twins and they can sign you up for that as well...Enfamil I know does it. They will send you a free case of whatever formula your little one is on...

Twin clubs are a great place for resources I agree! Twin sales are great as well (we have those in our area twice a year). Anywhoo, good luck to the upcoming parents!!! :o

Eve: Enjoy your bed rest!! I miss those days

Courtney: Yeah once they started sitting up and started solids it got so much better!!! I think by 6 months I noticed a slight difference but when they started to really sit up at 7-8 months it got better....then by 9-10 months I noticed a huge change. They still have their moments if they do not take time to burp from their bottle. However, they can now drink 7 oz. without needing to burp and do not throw it up! (I used to have to stop after every ounce to burp!! And they would still throw up!)

However, I still hear them having acid reflux. When they eat solids, they sometimes whence and I know some is coming back up. I do not know if it because they are eating too fast (well, me feeding them too fast...) or what it is. Sometimes I will ask at their next appt.

Yes we are still on the Zantac. I stopped the Prevacid because I did not notice a huge difference plus it was a pain in the butt for it to dissolve and it got stuck to the bottle so in essence they never really got the whole dosage. I did not notice a change when they came off of it. I am sure I will continue with Zantac for a bit longer since I can tell they still have issues.

As far as stopping the meds, you can always try it. You will know in a day or two if they still need to be on it. If they start to throw up again or if they cry a lot during/after a feed then you will know they still need to be on it. Most doctors keep the babies on it till they are one year old. My doctor has said nothing about taking them off but I dunno if mine had it worse than yours?

The only thing I worry about is if they are still having it, it will burn their esophagus really bad and you will not know. Then when they are older they will have scars and such on the esophagus which can lead to problems down the line. I would rather them be on meds that do not harm them even if they do not need them than end up with burnt esophagus'.

Older moms of twins....I am trying to introduce solids (finger foods) to the girls. We are having issues. They do not mind texture or anything like that...however, they are not gumming/chewing. So sometimes they still choke because they do not chew...when do they usually learn this by?? I tell ya, I am just ready for them to feed themselves! :D

Hi guys!

Wow, lots of new mommies here. Congratulations to all new mommies to be!! I have 17 month-old boy and girl twins and I feel so lucky to have them in my life. I also have a 3 and 1/2 year-old boy and 2 and 1/2 mos-old baby girl. I fell pregnant naturally for the last one. Sooo you never know ladies!

Baby Saya is getting very big and she has this huge double chin :P. She's almost three month-old, can you believe it!? My older ones are finally used to having a new baby around -- it's just my husband... He kind of go nuts when four children are screaming but then who wouldn't? I am the Mom and I can somehow stay calm!? I don't know how I do that though!!

Wow Bigred, only 8 weeks to go. Cost of formulas and diapers are, but you get used to spending the money. I buy bulk from Costco and that helps. We have four children in diapers right now and let me tell you, it is crazy!

Twinmommy, I think it just takes practice. My Noah still chokes on finger foods and I just have to pat his back when he makes that horrible noise. He still has issues with textures and I have to give him rice swimming in some kind of soup and hoping he'll outgrow it. Aly on the other hand can eat anything. I think girls are more advanced in that, too. Good luck!!

Courtney, your boys have gotten so big now. I used to think they look a lot alike but now I can tell them apart! :P

Kim, I see that you are taking your kiddos on excursions almost everyday! How fun! Sounds like there are lots to do around where you live.

I will check in once in a while to see how everyone is doing. I just have been so busy, the only time I am on the Internet is when I pump and I only have one hand!

Boy, better wake Saya up because she's been napping too long. As much as I love the quiet, I don't want to go through the caos of not sticking to the schedule later!

Help with feeding schedule......
My twins will be 12 weeks next week. We just came from the doctor and he said to go to 4 hr feedings. Therefore, Im thinking about starting at 7am, 11, 3, 7pm. Bedtime at 8pm. My ? is do you think I should wake them up at 11 to feed or not??? I just don't think they can go from 8pm to 7am. Right now, they feed at 12am and then one can go till the 6am feeding and one wakes bt 4 & 5 but I pacify him until 6. Give your thoughts in what has worked or working for you.
THANK YOU!

Liz35: I did the three hour schedule until mine were sleeping through the night and I still did a dream feed until like 7 months (most babies do not need that long but mine were preemies). If they are not sleeping through the night and can not make it till 7AM I would do the "dream feed." I think a lot of us on here did that until they could go the entire night. Do they wake up at 7 if you put them to bed at 8?? I put mine to bed right after their last bottle and did not keep them up but that is just what worked for me. I followed Baby Wise for a long time until they got older and the traditional Baby Wise schedule did not work for them (the napping part of it all).

You will know if your babies are ready for the 4 hour. Mine went to 3.5 before they went to 4 hour. Just go by your feeling on what works for them. You know what works better than your doctor as you are with them 24/7. Hope that helps a little??

My girls are going to be one on Wednesday!!! HOLY COW!!!! I am ready for them to start taking some steps but I think that is at least a month away still. They are just so cute. Both are trying to talk but it does not work the way they want it to and both give kisses now when you ask for one....Brooke cuddles now when we watch TV....they are just wanting to get into everything and explore. So much fun! We need to work on Mackenzie grabbing at faces though...I am in love! Looking back, I have no idea how I did the early months....like you all say, it is a blurr!!! I am getting comfortable with the idea now on having more kids....not for at least another year still but I am ok with the idea now! lol
