August 2010 Babies in the House!

Announcement of pregnancy and birth following assisted reproductive treatment.

Postby rikirees » Fri Dec 11, 2009 6:37 pm

Lightning can apparently strike twice. I had another u/s today and the RE saw 2 def sacs and 2 fetal poles- identical twins in 2 separate sacs 2 placentas. Too early for a H/b so i have to go back on 12/18. This is not great news for me. Anyone else would be jumping for joy. I have a few options after h/b's are confirmed that we need to discuss with the perinatoligist, including a reduction to one fetus- very risky, or terminating the pregnancy altogether (which I am morally against but I due to health risks I have no choice). I am so devastated beyond words. I guess ghost was right.
IVF/ICSI 3/07 Froze All 36 eggs
FET 5/07 BFP; DD born early (26 weeks) 10/07
IVF/ICSI 8/09 Froze all 30 eggs
FET 11/09 BFP! TWINS from just 1 frostie! YIKES.

Oh Riki - I wish we had the technology... I would totally carry one for you!!!   That is soooo sad, I can't even imagine. What a blessing and at the same time a tragedy. I wish you and dh strength and faith to come upon the right option for you.

I am going for my first u/s on the 18th also. I know I have already told you... but I can't wait!!!!!!! This is longer than the 2ww. I have been doing POAS every other day. I can't stand the suspense. I guess i need to pray for patience.

WHERE IS EVERYBODY??????????????????????????????????????? BABIES, WHERE ARE YOU??????????????????????????????????????????????

ARE WE THE ONLY ONE'S HAVING BABIES IN AUGUST 2010?????????????

Hope everyone is doing well and praying for healthy sacs, fetal poles, heartbeats, embabies and future fetuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Olim, I am in the same boat as you right now as I am taking inventory of every and anything that may be a symptom every second of every minutue of every hour of every day!!! This is exhausting and mentally taxing. I know I want to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy, and I truly want to believe and trust that everything will be ok... I still want to poas everyday. DH has strictly forbidden this practice. Can we fast forward to 1st USG????? I need a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On another note, 30 is the new 20... haven't you heard? We are 6 hours behind here in Chicago.

HollyB - How are you holding up?

Me2009 - How many? I can't wait! Are you in Canada? Btw, I bought a pair of Joe's and Juicy Couture Maternity jeans. I can't wait until they come in the mail! I can barely fit into any of my jeans anymore. I have only gained 3 lbs, but my waist is significantly bigger! I went to a formal party last night and everyone was telling me how great I look (small round bump attended as well), and everyone at our table asked us if we are pregnant! How do people know?????? So weird that something is already noticable. I mean, I know it is no bigger than a grain of rice (4th week) or the size of your big toe (the total mass of cells by the 5th week). My nurse did mention there's a lot of remodeling going on down there in preparation for the next 8 months.

Rikirees - How many did you transfer? Are you ok with having multiples or do you think you are having one? Is the other object the Dr. saw on scan dangerous to the pregnancy? I hope everything is ok.

Anything cool to report? Any new findings from reading books, internet or talking to friends, family, etc..???

xoxoxooxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oh im not in CA, close! Washington state!

so we have one! yeppie, thought that their might have been a 2nd. I have this hematoma below the one sac. they think there is a very, very small chance one could be hiding.

but were super happy with one!! :)

i was just barely 5 weeks, all we could see was the sac and thats about it. well i was 3 week for ive and 5 weeks from LMP... i still dont get the whole LMP thing... lol

Hi August Ladies,

I hope I can join this thread with you gals! I just skimmed through the thread, and all your stories prompted me to share my own, although it's QUITE early in the pregnancy.

I was actually on the August 2008 thread 1.5 years ago, give or take. My son Eliya was born August 9, 2009. Second IVF try.

A little history: We were TTC for 2 years, and were unsuccessful due to severe endometriosis and large ovarian cysts. The surgeon who removed the cysts told us that one f. tube was destroyed completely, and the other one underwent 'damage'. He said we'd need IVF, no question. So we did IVF, and had our son.

And so here I am, at the start of my third IVF cycle, doing hormone suppression for about a week (.1 Decapeptyl). Last week, the day I was supposed to get my period, I took an HPT. Miraculously, it registered TWO LINES!! Surprise surprise!! I am pregnant... naturally! Because of my tubal damage, I am really CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. My beta was 235 the next morning. Of course, it's very early days, but I am BURSTING not being able to tell my close friends the story. So again, I hope it's okay to join you guys, given my circumstances...

Wishing everyone a wonderful pregnancy!

Shari

Albany-
Thanks for the warm welcome! BTW, little diaper fun fact: Huggies work better for boy infants, and I was told that Pampers work better for girls (leakage-wise).

I hope to settle in with you lovely ladies for the next 8 months... take it easy everyone :D .

I just found you guys and i am so glad. Finally some ladies who don't have to pretend to understand what im talking about. My due date is aug 17. Wow that seems like forever. This whole ivf thing makes pregnancy seem much much longer than it should be.
Just one question Riki, how on Earth did you get 36 eggs?
I can't wait to get to know all of you. I only ever talk to one person about this so I am really looking forward to your advice and experiences.

Hello Caprice, welcome and congratulations!!! How many weeks are you? Did you just get your beta this last week? I am due August 10th, I think. Well, I'm getting ready to tuck myself, dh and embaby in so - just wanted to welcome you and let you know that this is a great place to share your ivf journey. I know exactly what you mean about this long drawn out process. Just remember, good things come to those who wait!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome. My beta was 459 on 10dpt. We only got two blasts and put them both in. Nothing to freeze which kinda stresses me out, like this has to work, ya know.

Yayyyyy!!!! Maybe twinbies!!!! This next step is not fun... Nobody tells you about the 2nd 2 week wait! Do you have another beta scheduled? If so, if all is well, they will schedule you for your first scan in about two weeks. This one definitely feels much longer than the beta. I feel like I need to poas everyday, b/c I must be the 30 percent of the population who does not get morning sickness! Ok, I am really going to bed this time. Good night, I'll say a little prayer for you guys tonight:)

Oh wow Riki
what are you going to do? I can't think of a tougher situation, where doctors or mothernature can't make the hard call for you. You seem like a very strong person, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Those of you in southern California, Who are you doctors! Is everYone still on estrogen and progestrone, when do I get to stop. I am so sick of it.
My estrodial is 740 and my prog is 130. Those seem high to me. Don't you think I should be able to stop supplimenting.

My next beta is 12/16 and my ultrasound is suppose to be 12/23. I hope that they don't change the dates because of my beta.
I am horrified for m/s with my son who is 7, it was awful. IV's all the time and pretty much on the sofa for 6 months. I swore I'd never have another kid. That backfired (endo) style. Then of course the miracle of ivf made it possible but I am still scared of what's to come. Any advice is appreciated. Does anyone else get HG?
I am going to need help with all these acronyms.
