Kala Try as hard as you can to stay calm. Inlaws are a pain the patooty. Don't leave for long, but maybe try to get out on you own some. Go out with friends, shop, whatever. Even a little time away can help regain the sanity. And don't worry...we're all nuts with the hormones.

I would go the other direction and say you have been really stressed lately because you have a very sick relative who may no make it till the new year and have turned to eating a lot lately to ease the pain. Because of all that extra eating, you must be putting on a few pounds. Then burst into tears because on top of all the other stressful things in your life, now she thinks you are fat! That will shut her up.
