Hi All-
I am 17 weeks along and so far so good. I have an at-home doppler and check the baby's heartbeat every night (I still can't feel any kicking). It's been measuring around 145-146. At my 16 week check up the doctor estimated it at 148. Just wondering how that compares with what you ladies have experienced? I have read it is normal but my DD was always much higher so I am worried it is too low.

Totally normal. My girls were always in the 150-160 range in the beginning, and slowly dropped to be in the 140's pretty consistently (probably in the second tri). I just had an u/s last week (25w5d) and one was at 138, the other at 150 something. Not a problem (baby A was also sleeping). Sounds like your little one is right on track.

normal fetal heart rate is 110-170 in general. Ive also heard girls are usually higher. Im pregnant with a girl now she was 150's up until about 22 weeks and now shes in the mid 130s. sometimes also those fetal dopplers dont count the beats correctly no worries !

I agree with everyone else. That is pretty normal. My daughter heart rate ranges between 138 to 149 beats per minute. Of course, when she is moving around it is on the higher end.

i think that heart rate sounds fine...my dr said normal rate is between 120-180 bpm....also i heard those home dopplers are not always accurate in counting the beats...i have one too and its not that accurate for me either...you should start feeling movement soon and that will also reassure you...
