Hi Ladies!!
Great news!! All 4 embies made it to day 5, although one didn't look so good. So, we transferred 2 beautiful blasts and are now in the 2 ww. We're waiting to decide about freezing the other two blasts depending on how they look on Day 7. Much better than expected! Fingers crossed:> So, when is the earliest I can do a
HPT??
Lauren319--I'm so sorry. It will happen for you. My hubby has 1% normal morphology and we got pregnant w/ my son!! Remember, that IVF has around 50% success rate; I always tell people that you should have yourself prepared for 2 IVF cycles minimum. Drink up, have a good time, allow yourself to mourn. I find that it takes about 6 weeks after a
BFN cycle to feel "normal" again.
Re: your quandry w/ whether to do fresh or frozen, I would do fresh for several reasons. Fresh has higher success rates, plus the ones that were frozen from the prior cycle weren't the rock stars. I also had one
RE tell me that she wouldn't freeze embryos unless there were at least 4 b/c some of the frosties don't survive the thaw (about 50% depending on how they froze the embies). Plus, this way you can save up a couple more frosties and do and FET down the line if the IVF doesn't work and you are running out of $$. FETs are sign. cheaper ($5k vs. $15k at my clinic). In my experience, we did a FET w/ my 29 yr old embryos and 1 didn't survive the thaw and the other didn't implant. I don't think we will ever do a FET again. Good luck w/ your decision.
rypell--yah the stims...let the BLOATING begin!! (I don't know about you all, but I look about 4-5 mo preggers when I stim)
franny--good luck!!
Tammy--Such a hard decision. I always wanted at least 2 kids and could never imagine less, but 1 is also desirable. Check out the Time Magazine article from July
re: only children. If you decide not to proceed w/ this next cycle, it may bring you some peace about the benefits of a only child.

re: drinking. I may be more of a risk taker than other people, but I think modest alcohol is fine while doing IVF. I drank 1 or 2 glasses of wine a week during my cycle w/ my son and about 1 small glass a month during my pregnancy (out of a shot glass). I may get flamed for that, but I think moderation is key.
turtle: how far are you in your cycle? they say that fevers and illness can affect the quality of the sperm...that doesn't seem to be an issue for you all, but it def affected my hubby's sperm. If you are doing ICSI it may not matter. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we did a lot of research to try to figure out the cause of my hubby's morphology issues and this was something that one of our urologists told my hubby. I'm sorry to hear your hubby has Crohns:<
