Hi Ladies--

Has everyone moved over to the fall board????

Esther--I am so sorry, I hope that you and your husband find some peace with whatever route you choose.

Rypell--sorry to hear that you had to freeze the embies this cycle. Fingers crossed for October!

Hopeforbabies--I don't remember feeling anything w/ my stimming. I actually felt pretty good...

Tammy--good luck w/ ER!!!

AFM: Neither one of my remaining 2 blasts made it to day 7, which is fine. We didn't want to have to pay the $2k for freezing, storage and this makes it easier for us. But, I am worried that it means that we didn't get good quality embies for this cycle. But, I have to remind myself that out of the 5 embies from my cycle with my son, only one embryo worked and that's all we need. In other news, my estrogen dropped, which I freaked out about, but then I found my cycle meds from my cycle w/ my son and the same thing happened. So we're not game over yet. I can't decide when to do my beta. The RE said I could about 11 DP 5DT? Next Monday? I'd do it earlier, but my MIL is in town and I don't want to break down in front of her if it doesn't work.

ugh....decisions, decisions.....

Post by miyaya » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:39 pm

Hey girls. I apologize but I do not have the emotional energy for personals right now. But I want you to know that I have been reading and keeping you all close in my thoughts. I am sorry to see so many negative cycles on this board. For those of you who have been around the boards for a while, do you ever feel like you are the bad seed that spoils the bunch? Seems like every time I join a thread, seems like it’s the thread of DOOM. I cannot help but feel responsible. I know its silly, but sometimes I honestly think like that.

Anyways….hmmm….what is new here? So much. I had my consult with my RE and he basically said he wanted me to have genetic testing and suggested ditching Lupron but using Estradex instead…At the end of stims, he suggested using a low dose steroid. He said he has great results with folks with PCOS. Of course I was thinking to myself….if its such great results, why have you not done this with me yet instead of wasting my $$$! Ugh! When I asked why he has not tried this yet, he gave me a bunch of BS saying “well in the State of MA, insurance typically covered 6 IVFs b/c the insurance companies recognize it takes multiple tries….well idiot….guess what? I do not live in MA! And I do not drive the friggen 60K care you do! I was so irritated. Anyways….I digress.

So DH and I decided to have genetic testing done but pursue adoption research. We met with a bunch of agencies and basically….that whole process is somewhat worse than IVF. I was so disappointed. Cost is between 30-60K….wait time is about 5 years unless you want special needs children….can be longer in some countries or for Caucasian domestic. There is so much information that blew my mind….I left asking myself…is this for me? For that price I could do 4 more IVF cycles and not worry about the wait or the legal risk.

In parallel, we did submit our application for fostering children under 3. State law has changed here and there is a huge shift towards reunification…I have my own opinions about that but…for any matter, it can make adopting children in foster (young ones anyways) more difficult. But there are always those outliers and we will give it a whirl.

Yesterday we got our genetic test results and they are all normal. So that is great news. Because at least if we decide to try IVF again, we do not have genetic issues to contend with.

So where are we…good question. I consult with a new local fertility doc next Wednesday…next month I meet with Boston IVF for a second opinion. We will make a decision in October whether we move forward with more IVF. In the meanwhile, we will proceed with home studies for fostering and hope for the best….OMG….is this ever easy!?

I am sorry, this is so long. More than you probably care to know. I am just so overwhelmed with decisions and information. Plus, lately, after the last failed cycle…while I was waiting for tests etc….I started to get really sad I may never have another child. Then my friend gave me all her maternity clothes (just in case)…I cannot even look at them. I really never thought I would be here, feeling this way.

miyaya- this is such a difficult decision, I'm glad you are getting a second opinion and whichever road you take whether its adoptions or moving forward with another cycle I wish you the best of luck. I hope your genetic testing will bring you some answers. Please dont feel like you somehow made this thread a doom in no way it is our fault. I myself find it difficult to post my good news but in some way i hope all the ladies will recieve it as a hope that this will work for all of us.

DCRunning- I'm so sorry your two didnt make it to freeze, and 11dpt is good enough my beta was 11dp3dt

I wish all of you that moved to the fall thread lots and lots of baby dust I hope you all become mommies you all deserve to be.

I got my 3rd beta and it was 8,100 ... It should of been in 4,000 for doubling and with my daughter at this time it was 2000. I'm preparing for twins btu I'm scared of a possibility of triplets  from my last number it shows 1000 increase a day instead of doubling I'm kind of scared i guess we will see in a week. I'm excited but i know the week will just drag on and on.

Dys24- Holy Moly triplets!!!! Well I guess you were truely blessed this cycle congrats! I've pretty much moved over to the Fall cycle but still get notifications for this one so make sure you let me know how your apt goes next week. I cant wait to hear how many are in there.

Miyaya- Oh please dont feel like you have doomed this board. It is always in God's hands whether we will be blessed or not and nothing else can control that no matter how hard we try. I know it will be difficult for you to decide if you will do another cycle or if you will adopt. Either way I think you will make a wonderful mother and the child will be very blessed to have you and your DH

Ester- How are you doing? Are you going to come join us on the Fall board yet? I hope that you and DH are taking time to heal and we will be waiting for you when you are ready.

AFM- Dr office just called and my E2 came back at 252 so they are having me keep everything the same. Dr seems very happy with how things are going. Nurse didnt give me a break down on the follies but said I had around 15 "normal" ones with a couple smaller ones lagging behind. She said this is good because OHSS is always a concern with me. My next SnS is Friday and hopefully I can find out more about where they are at.

Oh Miyaya I am soo with you. Last year DH and I went through the whole adoption decision and it is soooooooo complicated I know that there are great adoption stories out there but ours is not one of those. We went the adoption route first instead of IVF and after being worried that international programs take a very long time and often just close down we settled on Adoption network which told us that their wait times are very short and that we would most likely have a baby in 6 months so we prayed about it, thought about it a nervously gave them more than 10k in admin fees. We had to fully renovate which cost us a fortune plus countless weekends and evenings of painting and laying new floors etc just so our house would pass the home study and our home study but the agent agent was HORRIBLE..she talked down to us, told us that the most important think in the world was that our baby knew her origins (which I respect) and that the baby would always most likely be in therapy because of knowing that she is adopted and regardless of what we would do we would never be fulfilled and always grieve not having our own....when she left DH and I just sat and cried.... It has now been a year and we hardly ever hear from our adoption agency accept when we e-mail them...we cannot get a refund and now we have heard stories of people paying the entire rest of the money (atterney fees + second half of admin fees-close to 20k more) and having a birthmother change her mind and loose all of the money... I have to tell you I am so upset with adoption and have spent so many nights crying over it that we decided on IVF which ended in a M/c for me last month...but we will do it again and if it fails we will do it with donor embies....
Anyways hang in there sweety and I am here if you need to talk

Hi All,
Finally had a few minutes to check things out here. I went for baseline today. They did an US with my period pretty heavy. Yuk!! How embarassing!!! When it was done I stood up and a big splotch of blood hit the step at the base of the exam table which I promptly stepped in. I started Lupron yesterday twice a day. I start Menopure and Follistim tomorrow. Whoo-hoo!!! Let's get this show on the road. I'm not getting any younger. I'll be 47 next week on the 8th...Yikes!!! Maybe I'll get a pregnancy for my birthday. It'll be a sober celebration.

Ester- I'm so sorry for your BFN!!! I was really hoping for your success. You've been such a great cheerleader for everyone else that you deserve great things to happen to you. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Big Hugs!!!

I know I'm missing alot of you but things have been so busy. I'll try to get more personals tomorrow but please know I'm thinking of all of you and hoping for great thing to come to everyone. I guess I'll jump over to the fall group since all my girls are headed there. Don't want to miss out on anyone's success stories.

Love hugs and baby dust to all,

Thanks! I'm really happy to get things moving finally. Wish I could get rid of this headache, I've had it since starting Lupron last Tuesday. I also feel hung over from all the meds. I haven't had any alcohol since I started stimming. Boy I do miss my wine.

Good Morning Ladies,

Just wanted to let those of you know where I am. As most of you know, I started with a very low beta and my RE was very concern. Well, this morning I went in for my U/S and the baby is doing great!!! Heartbeart is 141 and I am measuring at 7w1d. They have decided that I can now go to my OBGYN. I cant believe that they are releasing me so early, but they did tell me that I can call them anytime to come in for an U/S because they do not want me to sit at home, not knowing.

I really want to thank all of you for your encouraging words and thoughtful prayers. I dont know what I would have done without you all. Only a few people knew what me and DH were going through and those few couldnt relate. When I came on the Summer Cycle Group, I felt the connection and you ladies helped me out a lot. So to each one of you, I say, Thank you!

I will keep you all updated!

Hi ladies, I do not know if I should be in this group or the fall cycle group. I am just looking for some possible answers. I had my ER on Friday 9/3/2010 and we got 14 eggs, 12 mature and 10 fertilized. For some reason the procedure hurt this time and I was sick for the rest of the day. Went back in yesterday for a 3dt and we transferred 3 eggs at 6-7 cell. I hope that is good. It hurt this time as well. My doctor told me my cervix is very narrow and it took him about 20 minutes and a lot of pain for me to get the cath to the uterus. Yesterday I had some spotting and one very samll clot. I am hoping that is from all of the trauma I went through. My husband said there was a lot of blood on the caths. Today, I only had a little bit of spotting and some mild cramping. Has anyone else ever expereinced this? If so, was the outcome good?
