Hi so sorry to hear that. How long have you been trying for? Must be hard to keep positive but just got to keep believing your time will come. I am on my first cycle and trying to keep positive. When do you start? Are they doing anything different this time?

Thanks for your reply, I don't know when I start again, my follow up with my RE isn't until the 23rd so I have to wait until then to make a plan. We have been trying for about 3 years, and have been doing IVF for about 2. Wishing you good luck on your cycle!!

Hi LifeLove,
I personally wanted to warmly welcome you to the group here. :D This TTC journey can be a rollercoaster, but we're here to support one another! The crazy thing is so much of us have gone through the same thing. I for myself was very disappointed when we got the news last month that our first IVF cycle failed. I felt discouraged and angry with so many emotions and when I finally got to see my fertility specialist to go over the report, my first question was "Why didn't this work for us?" Our meeting turned into a 2 hour consultation and he was pretty thorough. He said nothing in life is guaranteed, but what do we have to lose to try again? With that said we are staying positive and realizing all over again that this is our dreams and we are actively pursuing treatment and seeking help in every way possible to make this dream a reality! So with that said we must keep on trying and seeking out the best treatment plan and that's where yours will come in on the 23rd!

Our doctor suggested that we try another cycle and consider taking some of the embryos to see if the chromosomes might be the underlining factor. The test you might liked to research is called PGD or Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis but what's good is ONLY the best embryos would be selected for ET. Definately worth looking into, if you haven't yet? We are going to consider that option IF we try IVF again, but for now we are going to re-test DH defragmentation and see if the vitamins my doctor suggested are working to build up his count to help with the mobility. With unexplained fertility, time can only tell!

But anyway more than anything, we're here if you ever need someone to talk to! I am sorry to hear about your mom/best friend. It's not easy getting over someone like that, in most cases we never do, but as time passes it does get a little easier and the memories will forever be held onto. (My dad who raised my brothers and me passed away in 1999, and I still find myself quoting something funny he said or reflecting back to those days. Perhaps he was the biggest influence of my life!)

Thank you for your reply sunshine! It really is a roller coaster. Sorry to hear about your father, it was really hard to lose my mother through all of this. She was my biggest supporter and just wanted to see me pregnant. I am going to talk to the doctor about PGD, it can't hurt! I hope our consultation goes as well as yours.

Thanks for the support, wishing you the best through all of this too!

Lifelove,
I understand how difficult it is losing a parent and it may sound crazy but I was closer to my dad's mom than my own mother growing up. She helped us with homework and seeing us off to school while my dad worked hard to provide as a single parent. My mom moved to another state and my brothers and I would visit her every other weekend but we were never that close. It wasn't that she didn't love my brothers and me. She went through a state of depression especially after our house- fire and the divorce. She did try to fight for us in court and it was hard but I had to tell the attorney why I wanted to live with my dad. I knew deep down that no matter what I couldn't be separated from my brothers and we're still close to this day forward. These days my mom and I talk more over the phone. She knows that we are trying to get pregnant and has been supportive. I tell her limited things because I know it's tough to grasp really what's going on with our fertility treatment. But the last time she came down here was for my brother's Ironman event (last week and I hadn't seen her since last Christmas!) and she had a bag of baby clothes that she wanted me to have. Stuff from my other brother's baby that she was going to give to my other brother (for their upcoming big day) but thought he wouldn't appreciate it as much as I would. Not knowing what tomorrow will bring, all that is tucked away in my closet for now.
In the back of my mind, I know a mother's love is always with you no matter what.

Wishing4bump- I know how you feel it's so tiring yet you want to keep trying right away! It can be overwhelming. Maybe we will have a cycle around the same time, are you doing a fresh or FET?

Sunshine- thank you for your kind words, it's so hard to lose a parental figure. My Mom was so amazing I talked to her every day sometimes for hours on end. I miss that the most, I still pick up the phone to call her about something silly and realize there is no where to call. It is really heartbreaking, I am so sorry to hear about your loss too. :(

Hi LifeLove
I too am new to this thread and am sorry to hear that you have had failed attempts, I know how hard it is as I'm on my 2ww now with my 2nd try @ ivf. When i rec'd the negative for the 1st I felt so defeated and emotional it was so hard for both my husband and I but I truly believe it will happen for all of us xxxx

Also very sorry to hear about your mum too x

Thank you losing my mom in all of this was the hardest part. Keep your head up during your 2ww and try not to think about it too much (easier said than done) they say when you let go a little your body is more accepting.

thankyou for your kind words, I cant imagine what it would be like not to have my mum around, but in all honestly I admire how positive and adamant to appear to be that your time will come despite all your hardship.

wish you all the best in your next treatment and will let you know what my results are on the 29th Nov (fingers crossed) xxxx
