The road to IVF

Postby DALLAS » Sun Dec 12, 2010 12:40 am

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 2 yrs now. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis and had surgery in Feb to remove this and a lg ovarian cyst. We were unsuccessful after 4 cycles of Clomid. We had plans of setting up our IVF treatments next week only to find out this week that I now have a large cyst again on each ovary! They believe these were induced by the Clomid. The new plan is to repeat the ultrasound in 2 wks to see if they have shrunk. If not I will begin Birth Control Pills. Unfortunately if the Birth Control Pills dont help I will have to have another surgery to remove them. Has anyone else had this problem. Im wondering if the Birth Control Pills are really effective. I have heard that you start IVF with a cycle of BC Pills anyway, so I am hoping I can just continue on in the IVF process without much delay. Any advice is helpful!

I was just wondering about a time line. I will do my IVF education on Jan 6th. I am hoping that they typically start your meds right after that, but I dont know. How long do you take the injections. I am wondering.. once I start my meds, how fast do you progress to the retrieval and transfer? Does this all happen within the same month??
