Rebecca - Congrats on the twins!!

Barbara - Thank you! I do feel much better after that U/S!

Sonya - I have moved from the fall board. :) Looking forward to getting to know everyone on here! Thanks for the wishes! Oh, and I was 24 when my sister had her first baby. I asked my sister if she was comfortable enough to have me in the delivery room with her and her hubby. She said if it wasn't too weird for me and I wouldn't be grossed out, I was more than welcome. That was the single-most amazing thing I ever witnessed. As soon as I saw my niece's head make an appearance, I was in tears! Even though my sister's labor lasted 22 hours and I saw how much pain she was in, it didn't make me want a baby any less. If anything, I knew that I wanted a baby of my own a lot sooner than later. Never thought I'd experience infertility problems when the time arrived. Oh well, here I am, preggers, and loving every minute of it - even if I have to wake up 5 times during the night to urinate!

Karen - that is a tough situation to be in and I understand both ends of the argument. Hopefully you will come to a decision you both feel comfortable with. Good luck!

Karian - thank you for the warm welcome. Sheesh, I've been tired since the 4th week of my pregnancy. DH thinks all I do is sleep these days, but I feel so out of energy to do anything! No real nausea yet, just some when my tummy is really asking for some food. If I don't feed it, then I get all gag-gy. My sister said her nausea started when she was 6 and a half weeks prego. I am approaching that deadline within the next couple of days, oh boy.

SD - thank you!! Of course I do not mind! In fact, your due date is much closer to Halloween than mine. :) Aww, I can't believe that for once I will have my own baby at the family Christmas gathering this year, and not just my niece and nephews! It will definitely make the holiday season a lot more special! And oh my gosh, I get emotional at every little thing these days. Watching baby commercials always gets me. While I was at the bookstore yesterday and browsing through the pregnancy and baby journals, I got all emotional. Heck, I even get emotional while watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Ha, that's how I knew I was prego when my results weren't in yet.

Ryann - what an adorable belly shot! Sorry you're still having to deal with morning sickness. Gosh, I hope you're not one of those "lucky" ones who gets morning sickness throughout her pregnancy! Are you still working or taking a break? Hope you start feeling better soon!

Lou - How are you feeling, dear? When is your next u/s?

AFM - I still can't believe that there is a whole another life growing inside of me.. with a heartbeat and all! :) While DH and I were driving to the clinic yesterday for my U/S appointment, we saw double rainbows in the sky! I took that as a sign to help me keep calm. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo was also our wedding song! I love that we saw not just one, but two rainbows on the day we found out we indeed were having a baby!

Oh Ryann, I'm so sorry you feel miserable. My friend had hg her whole pregnancy and only gained 12 lbs. She had a healthy 7 lb baby. Your babies will be fine.
Are you able to work?

I feel good most of the time. A little gag here and there when i brush my teeth and a bit of heartburn after eating is about it. Today I had no symptoms, not even sore bbs. I'm hoping everything is ok. I'm just so worried!

Hey girls. Coming to crash a bit.

I love this thread..so much easier to stalk my old summer cycle buddies. I followed along pretty well with the fall group, then the bfp's formed their own busy thread, and the winter cycle group got crazy. But I have been checking in on you every once in a while. And the timing is perfect since I got put in solitary confinement..er complete bedrest in the hospital. Thank goodness my DH brought the netbook up and there is wifi at the hospital as it is going to be the only thing that keeps me sane.

Lou: I am so so thrilled for you. I have been following you and was so bummed with you with the last cycle, but apparently your single little fighter is a champ. I know how hard it is always waiting for the next u/s, test etc. I keep thinking once the baby's born, I will stop worrying..yeah right

Ryann: I am so glad you finally made it to transfer. I remember you thinking about transferring all 4. Glad that only 2 made into mommy's ultra sticky uterus. That sucks aboiut the MS. I only had it mildly, but lived off on saltines and 7-up and gingerale for about 4 weeks. I lost about 5 pounds from my pre ivf weight, but likely more since I did not go near a scale during my cycle. Hopefully yours goes away soon.

Sonya: Sorry your sis seems to know what is right for you. I have a friend who is 1 week ahead of me and seems to know everything. I am thinking I will work partime and she thinks I shouldn't work at all (she is a SAHM). She thinks she understands more about my complicated pergnancy than my MFM. She keeps pushing that I should just have a C-section. We actually had a big fight about a month ago and didn't talk until I called her yesterday to ket her know I had been admitted. So frustrating when others seems to know what you should do. And you should have whoever you want in the delivery room as ong as you and DH are both comfortable with it. Personally I only want my DH, but that's me.

Oh food is here. The highlight of my day. And I am starving because even the hospital food is smelling good. I'll be back soon to finish up and give you a quick rundown on me.

Everyone's here! Including me! Wooooohoooooooo!

I'm a little nervous. Being pregnant has always ended in such awful and traumatic ways for me. I'm hoping my faint BFP turns into a healthy, boring, 9-month-long pregnancy.

Still too nervous to jump all the way over to here - but I got my BFP, so hopefully soon! My beta is on Thursday.

Fingers crossed!

It's great that we get our old cycle buddies here! Big congrats again Leora... it's great to see you here on the bright side!

Stephanie I didn't notice before but you and I share a due date. Of course you'll be earlier than me because of the twins, right? Will you adjust your due date? When you do your ultrasound, do they measure smaller than singletons because there are two? I'm curious as to how thing work in the world of doubles... lol

We had our 20 week ultrasound results and everything was perfect. That was the last big hurdle and I feel we can finally totally relax and keep growing a healthy son. I don't think we really stressed out much this pregnancy but there's always that knowledge that something could come up as a concern.

Leora: Congrats!

I started having Braxton Hicks contractions this week. They are not painful but usually make me a little anxious because I don't like anything that happens near the baby. Is anyone else having these? Do they make you nervous too?

I haven't had any braxton hicks at all - not even a twinge! Is that early or are we that far along already? LOL

I can understand you'd be a bit nervous, but braxton hicks are pretty normal for many women from what I remember. I began having them up to 6 weeks before my boys were born. I was even booked into a hospital room on April 1st with my second... and he was born on May 1st!

Sonya: Apparently, we are that far along already. According to various internet sources, BH can start in the 2nd trimester.

It's amazing... Some days, I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever and on other days, I can hardly believe how soon she will be here. The second trimester is flying.

I got delayed last night, dinner, then DH came, then the computer got a virus frm the unsecured wifi at the hospital. ugh! thatss why DH got a netbook for travel....it's light weight and we don't keep anything important on it. It took forever to get it working again.

Leora: Congrats!

Amanda: over halfway there! And you already have a name. so prettty. DH and I are still working on it.

AFM: Many of you may not know or remember me. I cycled in July and was very lucky to get a BFP on my 1st try. I then developed a SCH at 7 weks that got worse and lasted into the middle of my second trimester. My MFM was not very hopeful about this pregnancy since my bleeding was getting worse not better, so was kinda stuck in limbo and just lurked about. I didn't feel comfortable on the pregnant side and didn't have much to say to those cycling. I have been following ny old buddies from the summer some and even know alot of you from the fall and winter group. So things finally settled down with the bleeding, but my MFM was concerned about PTL & PPPROM becuase of a bunch of factors (autoimmune disease, the late sch. my thyroid levels going wacky). Baby always was measuring perfectly, but I held my breath every step of the way. I counted every day until about 32 weeks when I finally felt I could breath. Then this past wednesday (34w1d), I felt kinda sick. I was crampy with some diarrhea. I had been having Braxton Hick occassionally since about 20 weeks. Those seemed to be continuing on Wednesday but no worse or anything. I thought about going to go in, but took a bath and felt better and I had an appointment Thursday morning anyway. So at my appt they did a NST and I was contracting every 3 minutes (and not really feeling them...if I had my hand on my belly I could feel my uterus tighten just a bit, but no pain at all). They checked and I was 3 cm and 75%. So I was sent immediately to L&D and medicated and monitored. They stalled me at 4 cm. Early Friday morning they took me off L&D and I have been on bedrest (and bored hence my renewed stalking :D ). I have been having a few stronger contractions every now and then. They haven't checked my since Friday, they said they want to leave me "undisturbed" unless I start bleeding, my water breaks, or I have more than 4 contractions an hour. So here I am. I am really not too stessed. I was so afraid of losing the baby or having a super early preemie that would be in the ICU for months, that a 34w/35w preemie doesn't scare me..like I was prepared for much worse. The neonatalogist said she would likely need to stay in for 2-3 weeks at this point. Obviously, I would prefer her to stay in me a while longer, but if she is she shows up early, I know we will be ok. Tuesday I will be 35w so I am trying to hold out until at least then. My MFM would like to hold me of to 37 week (March 15). We'll see what the little Miss decides. We still need a name. DH and I had a list of about 50 names and we are down to about 12. He said he wants to see her before we name her.

Enough of my ramblings.

I hope each one of you have a healthy and boring pregnancy.

DH doesn't want to know the sex before delivery b/c he feels it is bad karma and one of life's last real surprises. After we lost our twins last July we are both so worried...and feeling like we are walking a tight rope at 30,000 feet on a windy day. Even though I know in my heart that all will be ok and baby will be coming home with us! I was surprised how upset and aggitated he got when I brought up the subject last night. I understand he is terrified of something happening. I am too. However, I really need the bonding experience to make this seem more real...and quite frankly, the distraction of being able to plan and focus on picking stuff out to get me through the next 4 months. In the end DH said my karma and good feelings were more important since the baby is in me and he's worried that I'll bring negative feelings to the baby if I can't do things how I feel I need to. So he agreed to find out at our next u/s in two weeks, which is our anatomy/level 2 scan. However, now I just have the heavy nagging feeling about him being disappointed...like I'm taking away something super important to him. So now I feel kind of deflated about wanting to find out. I guess I'm just disappointed we aren't on the same page, even though I respect how he feels and understand it. Oh, the challenges of marriage. I must say, I'm so fortunate...we rarely ever bump heads. So I guess I'm just gonna wait to see how I feel before our next u/s. I just feel so blessed to have a healthy baby growing...that we even have anything to bicker about!

xoxo

Karen; I was the one who was determined to keep the sex a secret until the baby was born - DH really wanted to know but he was honouring my wishes. When we did our 17 week ultrasound (3D) the tech was so excited and kept asking us that I finally gave in and wanted to know. I'll tell you... it does NOT take away from the delivery room surprise. It actually gives you yet another exciting, surprising and emotional moment on this journey. I was just THRILLED to learn we were having a boy and it made me feel much more connected to the baby and the pregnancy. I'd say get the gender if you want to know... DH will almost surely feel excited and thrilled when he finds out. I had two boys before and found out in the delivery room they were boys.. it was exciting and thrilling... but the entire BIRTH is exciting and thrilling, the sex was just a little part of that. I vote for getting it done... after all the heartache we go through, we deserve every single bit of excitement and joy we can suck out of it!!!
