For Katelyn

Postby Tracey S » Fri Jun 18, 2004 9:36 am

Dear Katelyn

I know tomorrow would have been your BIRTH day and I wanted to just say hello from me. Your Mummy and I have become good friends- more so because of our grief and loss over you and Oliver. I like to think that because we have found each other in this world that you and Oliver have found each other in another. Your Mummy misses you every day and you Daddy just as we Oliver's Mummy and Daddy miss him.

I know you will give Mummy the strength to carry on and watch over any brother and sister or both she may have in the future but always know you are her special girl. Make sure you have some fun though and I hope Oliver is not teasing you or is it the other way round. We will light a candle for you so have a special look
Lots of love
Tracey

would like to dedacate this to Katelyn and her wonderful parents
"This is a work of art from my heart....Enjoy it!!!!............."GS"

Paintings by "Thomas Kinkade"....Painter of Light....

Site design by "Grandstaff"

You tiptoed into my dream,
Like sweet fragrance of spring.
You whispered sweet lullabies,
The songs that angels sing.
You gave yourself so freely,
Asking nothing in return.
You are the example,
A lesson for us to learn.
Your spirit roams the stars,
Like a comet in the sky.
You gave away the answers,
When you were asked to reply.
You opened up your heart,
And shared your gift of love.
To me you are not a woman,
But an angel from above.
I cannot put into words
just what you mean to me.
You are more close to heaven,
Than I could ever be.
So "MY DEAREST FRIEND", if you ever need a friend,
Just call and I'll be there.
You are truely awesome,
An angel unaware.

Set your own pace.
When someone is pushing you,
it's ok to tell them they're pushing.

Take nothing for granted........
watch water flow,
the corn grow,
the leaves blow,
your neighbors mow.

Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive.
Rest isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.

Listen to the wind blow.
It carries a message of yesterday and tomorrow...
And now.........
Now counts.

Rest on your laurels.
They bring comfort whatever their size, age or condition.

Talk slower.
Talk less.
Don't talk.
Communication isn't measured by words.

Give yourself permission to be late sometimes.
Life is for living, not scheduling.

Listen to the song of a bird...
the complete song.
Music and nature are gifts,
but only if you are willing to receive them.

Slow down. God is still in heaven.
You are not responsible for doing it all...
yourself... right now.

Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past.
Rest there.
Each moment has a richness that takes a lifetime to savor.

Quit planning how you're going to use what you know,
learn or possess.
God's gifts just are.
Be grateful and their purpose will be clear.

When you walk with someone,
don't think about what you'll say next.
Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.

Talk and play with children,
It will bring out the unhurried little person inside you.

Create a place in your home...
at your work....
in your heart...
where you can go for quiet and recollection.
You deserve it.

Take time to think.
Action is good and necessary,
but it's fruitful only if we muse,
ponder and mull.

Make time for play...
the things you like to do.
Whatever your age, your inner child needs re-creation.

Watch and listen to the night sky.
It speaks.

Listen to the words you speak... especially in prayer.

Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders.
There will always be new opportunities for you to
step out in front again.

Divide big jobs into little jobs.
If God took six days to create the universe,
can you do any better?

Direct your life with purposeful choices,
not with speed and efficiency.
The best musician is one who plays with expression
and meaning, not the one who finishes first.

Take a day off alone......
make a retreat.
You can learn from monks and hermits
without becoming one.

Pet a furry friend.
You will give and get the gift of now.

Work with your hands....
It frees the mind.

Take time to wonder....
without wonder, life is merely an existence.

Sit in the dark...
It will treat you to see and hear,
taste and smell.

Once in awhile,
turn down the lights,
the throttle,
the invitations.
Less really can be more.

Let go.
Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do...
but often it is the best.

Taste your food.
God gave it to delight as well as nourish.

Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set.
They are remarkable for their steady pattern of movement,
not their speed.

And as you ramble on thru life my dearest friend........
Keep your eye upon the doughnut, and not upon the hole.

"AND SLOWLY COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS ONE AT A TIME"........"GS".....
love becky. sorry that the photos didnt come threw.

Dear Tracey, Becky, Debra, Helenlouise, Traci and Jules

I was so touched to find this thread and read such beautiful things from you all. I know Katelyn would have loved seeing all those letters to her and all the support for her Mummy and Daddy.

Yesterday was terribly hard but David and I got through it like we have the last 4 months - one step at a time. The weather was gorgeous and so sunny a super day for her to have been born. We got the florist who did our wedding flowers and Katelyn's funeral flowers to make an arrangement for the grave with pink rose's, white and pink freesia's, pink gerbera and mauve :?: (not sure what they were but beautiful  ). The rose bush bought by our friends called 'Sweet Memories' has been blooming for some time so I took a flower from that up there and the rose bush we bought called 'Sugar Baby' just flowered this week (superb timing) and so we took a flower from that up there too. My Mum and Dad sent us a bouquet of 10 pale pink lillies. There were 9 for the 9 months I should have been PG and the other was to take to the grave for Katelyn. Her grave looks so beautiful and colourful. We went up there and both cried for our special little angel. She will be in our hearts forever and no one can take that away from us. I don't believe much in certain things but thought I would share this with you. My Aunt died last year not long before I got PG and she would have loved to have had the chance to fuss over my baby, well she has a son called Robin and Katelyn was due on Robin's birthday. As we were sitting by the grave a Robin appeared and hopped around so close to us all the time we were there. It seemed like it was my Aunt telling us that Katelyn was safe with her and sent Robin to tell us. May be it's just me but I like to think it was that. David thought the same so we are both daft

Today has been hard for David being Fathers day just as Mothers day was hard for me. We went to church and the Curate said a prayer during the service for Katelyn and we were really touched. It took us an age to get home from church as the London to Brighton cycle ride goes passed our house and all roads were closed and it was a nightmare. I could imagine Katelyn tutting at her Mummy and Daddy getting annoyed as we wanted our breakfast.

Oh Tracey, Katelyn said the cake Oliver made was delicious she said Gordon Ramsey would be amazed at Olivers cooking skills!

Well, I have waffled on long enough and must catch up on the rest of the boards. Thankyou again girls you are all very special.

Love Dagny xkx
