Oh mama I am so sorry! I know how you feel. My knuckles were cracked and bleeding because of my cold. If you have had cold sores in the past though shouldn't Denver at least have your antibodies for that? I know it can be pretty serious for little babies to pick that up but thought they had some immunity assuming you had exposure in the past.
Stay positive. This too shall pass. And you will be covering him with kisses again soon I'm sure!

Thanks Blissful. I have had them in the past. I know he should be fine. However, it scared the heebee jeebees out of me. If only I hadn't gotten it til he was 3 mos old! Only a few more weeks & I wouldn't have freaked out. Oh well, it is healing. I think it was from biting & worrying my lip with my teeth. I hurt it and made it susceptible...I've done it before. How annoying!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good website to order birth announcements from?? I see lots that I like, but I want to pick a company that will be good quality announcements. I don't want to make a large order only to receive them and they have a "cheaper" look to them. I was hoping that maybe one of you here on the board could suggest one that you used.

Mamaboo: I know the fear... Since getting pregnant again, my immune system must have crashed because I've had THREE cold sores in the last few months. I make certain not to touch my face and if I do, I was my hands immediately. Also, I refrain from kissing her (which breaks my heart). The hardest part is keeping Brooke from grabbing at my face when I'm holding her.

Dallas...I ordered through tinyprints. The announcements were amazing. Heavy cardstock paper and great quality pictures. They weren't cheap, but I figured it was commemorating a really big even so I didn't care

Dallas...don't they have the best ones for twins? This is the one we went with. It's just a pic of the computer screen, so the final product looked a million times better

Mamaboo: You won't believe this... I woke up with another cold sore this morning. What the hell? Seriously. It hurts, it's gross and I hate it.
Edit: Also, I know that among IVFers, we usually don't think this way but is there any chance that you could be pregnant? I've had cold sore after cold sore during this pregnancy like I've never had before.

Happy Bunny: no, I couldn't be pregnant. It is stress, and the fact that I have been sucking on my lip. I don't know why I'm doing it or how to stop! It keeps wounding my lip and causing the cold sores! GRRRR! I am sorry you have one now too. This sooo sucks!

I wish I could be hanging out here with everyone!
I'm dealing with a hell of a dragged out miscarriage right now - and then we are going on vacation - but I hope to cycle in March. Maybe I can squeeze into this group with a December 2012 baby?
I miss you guys! All the babies are so cute. Thanks for reminding me that this may all be worth it in the end, and this is something worth fighting for. When I have bad days (like today), I come over here and see that it *can* work.

Any suggestions???...... The twins are 4wks old now and are night and day difference. Avery can be awake and content on her own. Ethan on the other hand is a pistol. If he is awake he is crying, most of the time he stops when he is held, but sometimes not. I dont know what to do. I feel bad because sometimes when he is awake I am trying really hard to get him to go back to sleep. I feel bad that I feel better when he is sleeping! But it is so stressful when he is awake, bc all he does is cry!! Any thoughts anyone??

Dallas, Have you read the happiest baby on the block? There is also a movie, talks about the seven S's (I think there were seven) I found a really tight swaddle worked the best. If I were you I'd find the movie and watch it, it has great ideas. Good luck, it get's better after about two months so you are half way there. With my first I remember crying thinking I can't do this and I only had one! Now I look back and think if I only knew then what I know now my life would have been much easier. Unfortunately it just takes a little time to get the hang of each kid. Congratulations!
