HCD Didn't Quite Double - New Question

Postby silntbob » Sat Mar 03, 2012 6:01 pm

Anyone have any thoughts on my hcg levels? At 13 dpo (did IVF 5 day transfer) my hcg was 41. At 15 dpo hcg was only 77. I know hcg levels don't have to double in exactly 48 hours, but I'm still worried. I've been pregnant 7 times now and only have one living child, so I'm worried that this pregnancy will be another miscarriage.
Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your stories. My beta today went from 77 to 264 so hopefully things continue to go well.

I would not waste one second worrying about the difference between that and doubling.

After a nice rise from 77 to 264 my next beta was 434. Ghost or anyone else who might have some thoughts on the matter...does this sound like a pregnancy destined to miscarry? In all of my other pregnancies my HCG always doubled or more early on. I'm very confused by my numbers with this pregnancy.

Many successful pregnancies act like this at some point. As always, each step just leads to the next. Watch for the rise with the next one.

My first cycle resulted in the following numbers: 9dp5dt was 31. Two days later, 77. Three days after that, 214. THEN the "bad news" 4 days later, 548. They did believe I was miscarrying and brought me in three days later for an u/s to see "what was left." Well, there she was, and my beta had skyrocketed to 1883. She will be two March 30.

Re: Hcg Diet

When skinny people start eating their metabolism increases to keep them thin. In 1967, Dr Ethan Sims, fed thin prisoners in a Vermont jail as much as 10,000 calories a day in attempt to make them fat. No matter how much food they ate, they remained relatively thin.
