Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new to IVF and to the group. I am still learning all the medical terminology and abbreviations/acronyms so bear with me through my posts. I'm 35 and DH is 40. Vasectomy 15 years ago after 4 daughters from 1st marriage. Now here we are hoping to conceive. I had my egg-removal December 5th, but delayed embryo transfer until February at Dr.'s suggestion because of hyper-stimulation. I had 33 eggs removed, 27 fertilized, 18 survived, and we did PGD on 8. 4 were genetically normal. 3 female and 1 male. We will implant the male, as hubby already has 4 girls. I was told the little guy is the weaker of the 4 embies but I am sure pulling for him!! The boy, I'm told is ac, and the girls are all aa.

I just started my period a few days ago so this means we are springing in to action to gear up for a transfer mid-late February. I have started estradiol 3x/day and will, I believe start progesterone in the days leading up to the transfer.

I'm full of nervous excitement and pleased to have a forum to share in our journeys together.

I wish you all lots of luck, and baby dust!

Welcome Kristin!! Good luck! Keep us posted.

Mommyoneday- I'm so sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. I hope you are working through it ok. It's such a disappointment after all you've been through. I always make myself feel better by doing all the things I couldn't do if I was taking meds or pregnant like drinking as much coffee as I want, wine, sushi, cheeses etc. Sometimes all at once. Lol Do you know when you will start again?

Hopeful- Hope everything went well today. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

Hopeful - How did it go?! Were you able to do a transfer this past Friday? How are you feeling?? Sending prayers in your direction.

Hope - Thanks for your support. When does your cycle start?

So I think I'm going to cave and just try again even though its probably a really stupid decision work-wise. Trying at least keeps me sane. Waiting for a period to start the next try, which I'm guessing will be in probably a week or so. Also, I do the same thing, Hope! The same day I found out my cycle was cancelled, I started eating everything! Chocolate. Candy. Cheese. All in ridiculous amounts. :)

My transfer went well on Friday. We transferred 2 embryos, one was 10 cells and the other was 12 cells. Now the waiting begins. My pregnancy test is scheduled for 2/12, which is only 9 days away, but it feels like an eternity! Everything went smoothly and I felt fine after, I was on bedrest the day of the transfer and then I could resume normal activity the day after. I'm just worried I did something wrong, moved too fast or sneezed and ruined my chances. I know it's stupid, but I just keep thinking about all my movements. I'm trying to relax and stay positive. I guess I thought I would feel different, but I feel the same, which I know is normal.

Mommyoneday, I'm happy you're starting a cycle again! Keep me posted.

Hope22- When do you start your meds?

Hopeful-So glad it well. Yay, 9 more days!! So exciting. Ill be praying for you! I know what you mean about sneezing and moving around too much. After my IUI's I would have my husband drive and I would lay down in the back seat of the car and then go straight to bed and didn't move till the next day. I'm crazy too. Lol The next 9 days will feel like an eternity for sure. Keep busy and occupied. Easier said then done I know. Hopefully, you feel some implantation cramping soon. Good Luck!!

Im finally feeling back to myself since the flu. The flu is the worst. Unfortunately, my job is interfering with my schedule so I will probably start in about 3 weeks.

Hi, This is my first post in a group like this. I've been reading them for a while and finally decided to post because I think it is important to have support from other people who are in the same situation.

I'm 28 and my husband and I tried to get pregnant for 4 years with no success. My doctor said we had unexplained infertility. We had a failed cycle of Clomid, failed cycle of IUI, and now we are currently undergoing IVF. I recently had my egg retrieval on 01/20. They retrieved 9 eggs. 4 fertilized and 3 made it to day 5 and day 6 blastocyst. So a total of 3 were frozen. We decided to do PGD to decrease our chances of miscarriage from abnormal embryos. Today we got the report that out of the 3 only 1 was normal. We will be transferring the embryo at the end of this month.

Has anyone here had success with only 1 embryo? I'm scared by hopeful at the same time.

I'm glad we're all in this together!

Hi

Me - 38 - No ovulation
DH - Older ! No Children from previous marriage - low and damaged count due to illness in childhood.

I'm in my 2nd round of IVF/ICSI. First round 4 eggs none mature.

Second round, weekly acupuncture, DhEA, Clary Sage oils. 3 eggs, 2 mature, 1 fertilised.

Egg transfer after 3day. A beautiful looking, quality 12 cell embryo. Some amazing side effects that gave me much hope and now I have more symptoms of AF. As I have never been pregnant I don't know how I should feel.

today I am 7day post egg transfer and I have bought a bunch of sensitive HPT. Negative as of this morning. Boo Hoo ! Very difficult to keep positive focus....but already saving for round three. If I don't need it the nursery is paid for !

Hopeful - Only 5 more days in your countdown!! I hope you are feeling well and are staying upbeat. Looking forward to good news! I just started a new cycle today. I'm really really hoping this is the one. :)

Kristin, Sunflower, and JW - Good luck and welcome!

Sunflower - I'm sure you hear it all the time, but you only need 1!

JW - That's awesome. I'm rooting for the nursery ;)

Hi I am brand new to this group. Built my career and now 41 going on 42 in a few months. All the tests for me and husband are normal. Tried 3 months without meds in 2013, then 3 cycles of clomid. Then tried 3 rounds of IUI. First round had chemical pregnancy and subsequent rounds failed.

Starting follistim and menopur in late feb 2014 then retrieval and pgd in mid-late march and frozen embryo transfer in may i guess-- if I am lucky enough to have viable embryos. Wish I had just done IVF right away last spring. Hindsight is always a kicker. Any advice or positivity is welcome!

3 more days until my beta...I'm dying here!! I swear it feels like the transfer was months ago and it's been the longest 9 days of my life! I POAS twice and both times were negative, one was Friday, day 7 and the other on Wednesday day 5. I know it was early to test, but I had some around the house and I couldn't resist. I just don't feel pregnant and I'm so worried that I'm not :( I want this emotional roller coaster over and just want to know!!!

Hopeful, try to stay calm. It will be ok. You are doing a fantastic job. 7 days after a 3dt is still pretty early. Just try and do something fun over the next two days and it'll be official testing time before you know it!

Hopeful - I'm so sorry. :( Enjoy your vacation with your hubby. This is just another bump in the road. You have done such a great job getting here and you'll get your positive soon.
Please be nice to yourself. Your body has gone through so much lately and you have done absolutely everything you could. You should be really proud of that. There are very few people who would have been willing to even try.
Please keep us all posted. We are here to listen to you vent and we'll be waiting to support you on your next cycle. Sending my love.

Hopeful- OH no!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you must be completely devastated. Its definitely a roller coaster ride. Most of my friends who did IVF were successful on there 2nd time. So keep your head up. This vacation is perfect you! Do what mommyoneday and I do. Eat and drink everything you couldn't if you were pregnant and enjoy. Since you will be on vacation sit in the hot tub for a while! :) You deserve it! It will definitely take your mind off things and get you ready for round two. When you're feeling down start typing away. We are here for you.

Welcome Sunflower, JW and Busyb!!! Its great you decided to join us! Its so helpful to go through this process together.

Sunflower- Yes, I know of someone who got pregnant with one embryo. The pgd'd 17 and only one was normal. So stay hopeful.

Busyb- Hindsight is a kicker! I wish I did IVF years ago. I wasted a lot of time with IUI's. I've seen so much success with IVF and that fact that you were pregnant before is huge. Stay positive.

JW-Keep us posted.
