FET - 1 vs 2 embryos

Postby tlyon006 » Sun Dec 28, 2014 9:04 pm

Hi all,
We underwent a successful IVF cycle 3 years ago - transferred 2 embryos, got pregnant with 1, now have a beautiful baby girl. We had 7 embryos leftover that were frozen. In attempt to get pregnant again, we have tried 2 frozen cycles, implanting 1 embryo both times. We were unsuccessful the first time, successful the second time, but the pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks. Now we are onto our 3rd frozen cycle, transfer at the end of January. I have struggled each cycle with deciding to implant 1 or 2 embryos. I have always wanted 2 kids, so twins the first time would have been great. But now I am very scared of having twins. Not only I am nervous for managing twins while already having my daughter, I had some late complications with my pregnancy, ending up being induced at 38 weeks and was fine, but I am so nervous that something will go wrong if we get pregnant with twins. Yet I am worried if we keep implanting one embryo, it will never happen. Help?? Anyone who transferred 2 in FET and got pregnant with 1? Anyone successful in FET only transferring 1? Once again I find myself needing to make this decision and once again I feel lost. Would love any thoughts. Thanks.
