IVF abroad, need some serious help!!!

Postby jasmeen15 » Sat Jul 08, 2017 7:07 pm

Hello ladies and gentlemen of ivf-infertility, Jasmeen here. I would really be glad if somebody offered me some help for my current situation. I am 28 years old, and I am living in Austria. I was born in Turkey though so my nationality is Turkish. A few months ago I was diagnosed with infertility... It seems that the "health" of the egg cells that my body produces isn't good enough for me and my husband to conceive. Doctors tried to give me pills, putted me on a Diet and nothing has worked thus far... Then a private clinic where we used to go with my husband told us about IVF. Unfortunately for us Austria is one of the only few countries around the world that fully ban IVF! Some countries I've heard, require the couple to be married to undergo IVF etc, but here in Austria it is 100% illegal. One of the nurses suggested to us that we try IVF abroad. I checked as much as I could online, but sometimes there so much stuff on the internet it's the same as there being none. So without any other place to go I opened this account and decided to come to this rubric to ask if anybody can show me a good clinic... I just need one that is in Europe. Thanks for understanding me, and thanks in advance for sharing some info and knowledge with me.

Ohh my god, i thought I was the only one..? It seems like that isn't the case. Hello Jasmeen, my name is Giada and I am from Italy. I am going through the same thing as you, and my country (Italy) prohibits IVF too. I didn't knew there was another country that had this dumb, dumb law. On another forum people told me that it is possible to undergo IVF treatment on another country I had never thought about it myself, I guess you can call me slow!

What have you found for yourself while researching? For example I have found many clinics in Ukraine... I am uncertain too however. I need to proceed with caution, I don't want to end up scammed. My husband is very careful when it comes to such things. Imagine he keeps going online and checking the same place like a 100 times  , which is very fun to watch! I think I will end up going somewhere at least by the end of the next month. We want a child so badly and our dumb country is preventing us from realizing our dream... I am sorry I couldn't help much :| , personally I have never been on a clinic that does IVF, so yeah, there isn't much that I can know.

Good luck to you, I hope we both find a clinic abroad as soon as possible. Having a child is a right that nobody should be prevented from. Keep on fighting and never lose hope.

I am sorry that you have to go through this! I don't understand who came up with such laws? Who accepted them? You're not slow, I wouldn't have thought about abroad treatment myself either, had it not had been for Alissa (the nurse I mentioned on the original post)... Hey, I noticed that too! What is it with Ukraine? So many of my searches would end up with checking Google Maps. My husband is very paranoid too... His English isn't the best. Or actually, to be fully honest, he doesn't know a thing in English. Whenever I translate anything for him he will keep asking and asking if I am doing a precise translation. He'd go as far as to check the dictionary if I wouldn't get mad. I love him though! It's alright, I can see that you too are as worried as I am, and that you too are facing the same problems I am... I understand you very well, because I am in the same situation.

There is a reason why you keep seeing Clinics from Ukraine in many of your searches! Clinics there are awesome, some of them at least. The fact that there are plenty of them there plays a major role her too. Overall it has to do with the quality I guess and not the quantity. Keep searching there and you will eventually fin one that suits your criteria. Many people that I have met have gone there for IVF and for surrogacy both, plus I personally have been there to. My fourth try and first successful try happened there. Before that I tried here in the states and I failed three times, each one was more devastating than the other. At the end the, hearing the crying of my daughter and son (I had twins) made it all worth it. You will find a clinic one way or another... Be prepared for the fact that IVF can be devastating at times. There is no guarantee it'll work, the process is tiring, expensive also and much more! But as I said at the end it is all worth it. You'll see for yourself once you conceive, the feeling that it gives. I wish you luck on the journey that awaits. You'll most certainly need luck the most.

Congratulations for finally conceiving... This story just gave me a motivation boost that I needed so badly. How awesome it is that you have twins? Is it hard to look after them? I've heard from many people that it is pretty hard to take care of only one child, having twins seems like a hard thing to maintain. You can be a bad parent and not care, that would make things easier. I highly doubt that's the case with you. I have said this before and I stand by this that people who face infertility appreciate their children much more than normal people. I guess it has to do with the fact that you dont take your children for granted! That would be a very bad thing to go. I wonder are there parent's who take their children for granted? How cna you even do that? Okay, I've given myself enough confusion for today...

Could you care to explain just a few more details about the clinic? Jasmeen has been looking for such info too, so you would help the both of us i guess. Ohh and dont forget to hug your children for me once!

Thanks for the hugs. My daughter hugged you back, my son tried to fight it, but I landed a hug anyways   . Thank you for the kind words. Your saying is true but to an extend, I would assume. Personally, I think there is no parent on the world who doesn't cherish their children and who doesn't appreciate them. At the same time the same can apply for parent's who have gone through losing a child, that's also devastating. Now that I think about it... What's worse; infertility or losing you children. Jesus fucking Christ, what is wrong with me I just made myself sad. Okay, let's pretend I didn't say that and let me try to answer your other question. Yes raising twins can be challenging at times. But nothing that cannot be surpassed. My husband usually works the night shift so he cannot help me much, at times it becomes frustrating and hard, but still nothing that cannot be surpassed. As for the clinic, I wish you hadn't ask. I am afraid will get banned for advertisement. It was BioTexCom... I went there much time before they started to advertise all over the web. I loved the place, it was warm and cozy. They usually provide free meal and free accommodation for your entire stay. Going there will allow you to meet a lot of new people as couples from all over the world who face difficulties conceiving gather there to find a cure. For example my husband met a lot of new friends there, I didn't do the same because I was very busy. Also Kiev was very beautiful. We visited it again for our vacation last year, we were more free to enjoy it fully.

I forgot to mention that we choose this place because it stood out among others for their prices. Very reasonable... Back then we had spent so much on our previous IVF tries and we were in a sort of crisis. But we were able to afford their service and it turned out fine. It helps a lot that you sleep at the clinic. The staff is all around you, any changes and you get to be treated immediately. At least I think that helps a lot. My first IVF had the potential to be successful had I gone sooner to check myself.

Wow... That got dark so fast, I can't help it but laugh out loud   . I'll try and answer your dark question. I think, and this is one of cruelest things I've ever said, a combination of both! Think about it  trying and trying, attempt after attempt you succeed only for your kid to then die. Oh dear Lord, I wish such thing would never happen to anybody.

I actually have heard of this place even before, I think it was in a forum too, I am not sure. It doesn't matter really. It seems interesting, if Kiev is that beautiful, Biotexcom might be the place for me. My current state doesn't allow me to break the bank much either. The reasonable prices are another great reason to go to this place  , for me at least. It's true that I want to conceive badly... But sometimes you just cannot afford everything, some stuff are beyond your rich at certain time.

I am so sorry you had to go through that much. It's just inhuman, cruel, and I cannot think of other words to describe how unfair that is. Honestly sometimes I wish I had a superpower to help myself and people like me. Such stories break my heart. And to think that there are ways that things can be different, there are cures, and some dump fucking head of states prevent you from getting treatment in your own place, this is so frustrating  !

Giada you knew about this place? Why didn't you told me before? Hello monsterwithin, thanks for your replies. You have been a great help. Congratulations on your achievement. Having twins is something I always desired. But due to obvious reasons my chances are low... I love how twin parent's get to dress them the same. I find that extremely adorable. If I ever get blessed with twins, I would throw myself in the mix too and get matching clothes too. Okay, get your feet back to earth Jasmeen. So will IVF be very expensive? Is biotexcom much cheaper than the ordinary clinics? I do want the best treatment possible but it's not like I can just print how much money I need. That's why I wanted to find a clinic in Europe, to begin with. I cannot afford to spent much.

You're welcome, actually, no need to thank me at all. I am just doing what every human being should do. Help others out. I just sincerely hope I don't get banned for mentioning biotexcom. If this gets recognized as spam that is. Thank you for the congratulations, I hope your dreams comes true too. Remember however having twins can be a hard thing to deal with. My children can make a real mess if they want to. I can't help it bu forgive them though, they're my angels. Now the thing with the prices is that biotex will give top notch treatment, with average prices. That's the trick here, such clinic here in US would cost so much more than them. Also you have to sign a contract before the beginning. That contract is your 100% guarantee. You agree for endless attempts. At this stage you probably aren't sure what this means but you'll eventually see. I don't want to ruin your optimism, but chances are your first attempts will fail. Now that is not a law that cannot be changed or I am not saying that it is guaranteed that you will fail the first time no matter what! It's just that you are inexperienced and all that... So yeah if the first time you fail, which I hope with my whole might that you wont, you get a second attempt.

I knew that IVF doesn't work 100% of the time. I thought it was normal, just like normal pregnancies. I didn't knew the risk was bigger... You mean I will have to do multiple attempts?

You mean like, how even normal pregnancies sometimes fail? If so, than yeah the risk is nearly the same. Anything that would ruin a normal pregnancy, will ruin and IVF one too. That's why it is very great to have a contract that offers limitless attempts. Not many do so actually. I remember searching for pretty long until we found a place that offered that! It really makes things much easier for you. Increasing the chances is something that benefits you a lot. And come on I mentioned that IVF failing at first isn't a written law that cannot be broken. It something that has happened to many people before. But you know sometimes having high hopes isn't the best thing. I told you maybe even I would have been able to conceive the first attempt had i been to biotexcom. I told the nurses and doctors at my second attempt that I had noticed some changes on my body and they told me that it is normal. On my first I should had told them earlier and I didn't... I could have saved that child had I told my concerns earlier. So to summaries, yes you can conceive at your first attempt. I really hope that's the case for you!

God your story is so sad... I am really sorry for you! Keep your head up, you made it at the end. The long trip was all worth it I guess. Every suffering you endured payed off at the end. I hope such fate awaits for me. I'll repeat myself and tell you that I would go through anything to conceive. Right now, it is the thing I desire the most. Again, thank you for your help. The infos you shared will really come in hand for me!

Hi there.
Seems it's like the only possible way to go abroad... My colleague has her treatment abroad too, in Ukraine, but I don't remember where exactly. I can ask if you want. It seems that Ukraine is really popular country for this kind of treatment, so probably you need to learn information about it and compare with the other European clinics. She also told that the price is much more lower than in other countries, but they provide with good services. And all legal issues are settled in agreement. As I remember she chose few countries and was in doubt for several months, but finally decided to go there. Hope, this will help you, write if need any advice or support) Good luck)
