Hi Fi,

Not down-regging yet - hoping to start next Friday (6th Sept). Also holiday starts tomorrow (yippee). Down side is won't able to post for ages, and will have loads to catch up on when return.

Wow, nightmare time for af wait - isn't yours a dh problem like mine? Not sure if you read my last message suggesting home pg testing? Wasn't it Jilly whose clinic gave her some drugs to bring af on, and before she did took a pg test that was +ve. Might be worth considering contacting the clinic with it being so long.

Anyway, on completely different matter - we have recently become proud part owner (well sharers really) of a horse. He lives in North Wales, so rides will be in beautiful Snowdonia and if IVF works, will get lots of walking done to keep fit (actually, he is a bit unfit, so needs to be taken for lots of walks anyway). So dh and I have exciting new hobby to keep us sane through all this up and down-ness. Just thought I'd share this.

Speak again after my hols

Take Care

Fiona xxx

Hi Fi and Fiona

Fi – I'm sorry to hear still no sign of AF. Have you tried Fiona's suggestions and checked with the clinic that there's nothing they can do to bring it on? Or would they rather leave it to nature as much as possible? Either way I hope you get some +ve news soon.

I start sniffing on 1 Sept (this Sun). I don't know what to feel this time round. I'm certainly more cautious and less optimistic than last time, the whole things so loaded and dh and I have sacrificed so much for another go that I sometimes think it's all too much to take! Thank god there's this site to keep me sane!!

Fiona – have a brill hol! And how exciting to have a horse! It's a really good idea and sounds like a fab way to take your mind off the rollercoaster!

Keep in touch guys

Jules xxx

Hi guys,

well I have thought about the preg test thing (but after five years trying we have only naturally been preggers once which resulted in miscarriage at 10 weeks (year anniv of that was Monday so this week has been fun!not)I'm reluctant to get yet another clear blue. Our investigations have shown dh probs, but I am always a 33 day cycle girl. Plus been reading all the IVF books (thanks Prof Winston) and it says normal to be irregular after treatment....I don't know, i think I'll give it another week and then contact clinic for test....in my heart of hearts I know I am not!! do you know what I mean?

So whats the name of the horse?? Sounds fab.have great holiday - for some reason I thought you had been last week.

Good luck with everything,
fi

Hi Fi & Jules,

Managing one last posting before going away (deadly bored at work at mo, can't wait for 5 - I'll be off like a shot).

Horse's current name is Prince. He's a heavyweight about 15.5 hands high - a coloured, mainly white with one black patch over his left eye and another black patch over his right back. He's a real gentle giant, so dh and I don't think he suits his name at all, and we're thinking of calling him Hagrid (for any non-Harry Potter fans reading, can recommend either the books or the film).

I'm sounding like an expert here, and I'm not at all. Dh has been riding for about 15 years and loves it still despite being thrown off a horse and breaking his pelvic bone - had 4 months of being unable to walk! (before I knew him). He's been really keen I try it, so I've had some private riding lessons in between treatment cycles and loved it. Even falling off in canter (in a soft paddock) last weekend didn't dent my enthusiasm, but dh insisted we get me body armour for next lesson.

Obviously we're being sensible about the whole thing and its a complete no-no in the 2ww and like I said, lots of walking shouldn't harm if that miracle does come our way.

Sorry to hear this week was an anniversary of a loss Fi, and sending you lots of hugs to help to ease the pain just a little.

Well, good luck to both of you for whatever happens next week and I'll be back posting before you know it.

Take it easy

Fiona xxx

[Edited by fiona_lk on 29-Aug-02 16:11]

Hi Fi

Sorry to hear about your recent sad anniversary – this whole business can be so wretched at times. I really hope you get some good AF news soon, it must be hard to be stuck in limbo as you are at present.

I know what you mean about knowing the score in your heart of hearts, but it doesn't make it all any easier does it?

I've currently got the Prof Winston book on order from Amazon, but it's taking it's time as I think they were out of stock.

Keep in touch and I hope you get some good news soon

Jules x
