Hello Mandy, Mandi, Barbs and everyone else!

I thought it might be a good idea to start a new posting, there seems to be a lot of us on the 2ww.

I think it would be a good idea to start a topic to compare notes, and to help others for thier future 2ww's, as it is probably the worst part of IVF.

Well I am on my 3rd day of the 2ww as had my ET on Monday, this is my 6th time but it dosn't get any easier, I am bored out of mind already, all I have done so far is watch rubbish TV, eat and drink.

My breakfast today consisted of a glass of Milk a piant of water, with lime juice, a Nutragrain bar, a Danone Actimel, a pro natal and 75mg of Asprin, my lunch was two boiled eggs on brown bread, this may seam all daft telling you this but this is my recipy to make it work, however anyway my nails and hair feel fantastic already.

I had a phone call today from the embryologist to say one embryo has made it to blastosyst out of six and as the two they put back where better quality they are quite confident it will work.

It's wierd but this morning before the call I had a twing in my uterus and I am sure it was them starting the embedding, as I had this the last time when it worked, I then for some reason had an overwelming feeling that it was going to work (either that or I had wind, that was a joke).

Anyway I won't ramble on, I think over the next two weeks I will probabaly turn into Mrs phsycotic.

Good luck and best wishes to you all.

Sandra E

I'm getting really paranoid about all the aches and pains. My ET was last Thursday and I'm due to test on the 22nd.
Yesterday I had some wierd feelings down below - thought it might be implanting. They were not like period pains - just uncomfortable.
Today its better - just very bloated which I guess can be the pessaries. Feeling quite nauseaus which I know is the medication but have no sore boobs.
I had two embies put back in - they said they expected to see a two or three but both were a five ( think that means they were quite strong). I have been feeling very positive but as time gets closer to the test I 'm now getting quite scared.
When you have aches and pains you worry and then you worry when you don't have any.
My clinic said that implantation would probably not be until late this week but that everyone is different. I think we must never forget that we are all different and no two people are the same and respond the same.
All we seem to be doing lately is waiting - it is very stressful.
Lots of luck to everyone and I am thinking of you all.

Love Barbs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone, I am also getting lots of twinges and feelings, but I have convinced myself that they are period pains. Can I ask what it felt like - the pain in your uterus??

Also, i am now starting to think that my boobs might be getting a tiny bit sore - is this a good sign.

I am really finding this is helping me.

Thanks

Kate

Hi 2ww Gang!,
I too am getting very board and anxious. I had ET last Friday and am due to test on the 23rd. Since then I have had lower abdo ache, rather like a period pain but that seems to have stopped today!!!!!! Boobs don't seem as tender as last time.

Sandra, I have also had what I would call- A CONTRACTION type feeling in my uterus area about once or twice over the last few days it is not a pain just a feeling -is this good?, this is my 2nd time and I don't remember this last time.

I am eating normally but do feel sickley at times. I am trying my best with the water and am having about 1.5 lite and about 1 lite of milk.

I swing from being really optamistic to trying to be realistic, in order to cussion any hurt. Last time I started bleeding 7 days post transfer, so I am not looking forward to weekend.

Things I have done different this time
1. Drink more water and milk
2. 75 mg aspirin
3. 1x vit E capsule
4. Accupuncture- two prior to ET and 2 after.
5. Stayed in bed for first 2/3 days

Keep in touch Mandy.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi all
Sandra - what is "blastosyst"? Is that the point at which the egg fertilises or starts to divide or neither?
Kate - Like you every pain I get I keep thinking its a period pain although I try and think positively. It's very hard though. I've caught myself rubbing my tubby sometimes as if willing them to grow. I think its all the milk I'm now drinking, it's making me go a bit funny.
Is there a certain time after ET that the eggs implant? I always just assumed they had to "dig" themselves in straight away or they would "fall off" and just die.
Glad that I'm not the only one who's checking their knickers every 5 minutes!
Mandi

Hello All,

I have finally managed to register. I am also on week 2 of 2ww, due to test 21 Aug.

Have been getting period type pains and had very sore boobs yesterday but seem a bit better today. I have continued working throughout the two weeks up until today and am now on holiday until the test.

This is my first time at IVF and I want to say I have found this site very comforting when I was getting very upset last week as I was getting pains.

Nobody at my clinic said anything to me about extra milk or water (or diet at all actually).

All the best. Hello everbody!

Sorry I haven't been around for a while but hubby has been at home with me and I have been made to rest, I am not complaining.

Getting really bored now and I am not in my 2nd week until Monday, whatching far too much tv, I even set the programme planner for all the rubbish programs on Halmark (any suggestion of other programs to watch would be greatly appriciated),I am eating far too much and I think I am going to burst I am that bloated, my ovaries feel like baloons still and my nipples feel like they have had acid tipped over them, but other than that I am ok.

Mandy I know how you are feeling about optomistic one day and next trying to cushion the blow if it hasen't worked. I think we all feel like that, Because it worked last time I automatically keep thinking it will work this time but I keep telling myself not to get too exited just in case, hubby is convinced it is going to work and that helps, I think if it dosen't work we will just have to deal with it, until then we will stay optimistic, we must give them positive vibes otherwise they might think we don't want them. And if it dosen't work it won't be anything we have done it will just be that it wasn't meant to be and we will try again. So all of you stay positive!
My Biggest hurdle will be hanging on to them if it does work.

Mandi a blastocyst is what the embryo is called when it is at about 6 days it is when the cells have divided into hundreds of cells it then sheds its outer layer and starts to embed into the uterus, you can look it up in more detail on the site in the glossary.

All of you don't panic about getting sore boobs or not if we are pregnant the first sign we will get is the test anything other than that can be down to the drugs we have had, I had a HGC injection 10 days ago which is probably the reason for my sore boobs I am also usine 400mg cyclogest pesseries twice a day "yuck". I remember last time I had all the signs I was going to come on the only time I started to be convinced I was pregnant was when I missed my period two days before my test. I remember going to the loo ever hour because I was sure it had come right up to the test, I even had stomach cramps.

God I sound like an expert at all this but I promise you I am not even after 5 years.

I think all we need to do for the time being is to stay positive, and maybe we all might get a positive result.

I hope I have helped.

Keep in touch and Best wishes.

Sandra E

Hi all.

Iam in my 2WW, and i have only found this site a couple of days ago. I am not sure how to calculate my day, as i thought the 2WW started on day of transfer, but it seems others say it starts on EC, being day 0, any help? i did have a lot of pain after ET, but that was due to my ovary being hard to get to , it has eased off now, but i am still very swollen. my breasts were very tender since i started the injections, but also have eased slightly! is this a good or bad sign? i am also very tired! how soon can i test? is a positive a positive? or can it show up wrong result? am i to expect any bleeding? so many questions!!!! has any one got any answers? looking forward to hearing from someone!! thanks
jackie.

I thought I would resurrect this old thread re. past 2ww'ers, as there seems to be quite a few of you who will be going through this ordeal in the next few weeks. I'm on day 9 of my 3rd try and was desperate to read other people's experiences again, and I've found it so reassuring. Having never ever been pregnant, clinically or whatever, I just don't know what to expect.

I feel a bit period-like though - boobs hurt, mild twingy feelings - the real sure sign was that I went round the shops yesterday lunchtime and bought myself things to cheer myself up etc, got tearful whenever I saw baby in a pram or seriously cross and wound up if a baby was crying or screaming - I know I do that when I'm due on normally.

But weirdly, today I woke up and felt great and even hopeful. Boy, I'm so sick of being hormonally all over the place.

Well let's see if I can continue this "euphoric" feeling till I test next Wednesday gulp....

Nicola x

Hi Nicola

This is our 1st attempt @ ICSI and i'm on day 8 of 2WW due for test next Friday.

I have similar symptoms sore boobs & twingy period like feelings. Did your symptoms start straight after ET? Mine did not start until 4 days ago thats why I was so convinced it was AF.

My symptoms are not there all the time I wake up feeling fine & then by lunch time the twinges & aches are back. What is going on! Any advice or tips you have would be much appreciated.

Sue
Hi Sue,
God I wish I could give you some tips! It seems that everyone experiences so many different things - some have all the AF symptons, some have implantation bleeding, others feel nothing at all - and these have all had positive results.

All I can do is tell you my experience, which sounds similar to you. I felt some slight AF twinges fairly early on - about day 3 or 4 so thought oh, here we go, but it's not been that strong since. (I even had some light bleeding on days -1, 1 and 2 from the e/c which really worried me, but it stopped). I'm now on day 12 and feel OK - boobs not sore now and not many twinges. The awful thing is that it's making me feel almost hopeful now and I just don't want to be let down again.

My last try I was completely pessimistic from day one - I felt so crap - I'd had a horrible stress allergy attack leading up to e/c, was getting over a bad cold and left with a persistant cough, so felt so unhealthy. I remember have quite a few twinges and a slight bleed on day 12 and 13 and of the early hours of day 14 everything had come on in full.

All we can do is to try not to think about it too much - go to work, do something to take your mind off it, that's all that's getting me through at the moment. My consultants said to ignore anything you feel in the 2ww, even bleeding, as the only true sign is when you get that positive pregnancy test.

Good luck to us all!

Nicola x

Thanks for thinking of me Sue. Guess what - I've chickened out and haven't done the test! I still haven't had any bleeding and haven't felt any more twinges and my boobs aren't sore. My husband is away till Friday, so I just texted him to say I was too scared to do the test, so I can live in a little hope for maybe a day or so more. He said to wait till he's back so I might do it Friday or even better wait till Saturday morning, when at least if it's negative I can wallow in self pity. I'm just so busy at work that I can't afford to feel manically depressed and I might just end up exploding at someone!

I know a lot of women on this site do it earlier than they should as they can't stand the wait. It's just that last time I started bleeding on day 12 or 13, so am enjoying this bit of positiveness while it lasts.

What a woose I am!

N x
