Back after 18 months and due to have FET

Postby alison p » Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:36 pm

:? Hi - I haven't been on this website for ages. Just to recap - I had a little boy in Jan 2004, so he is now 18 months old and I am due to have 2 frozen blastocysts replaced on Monday. I am really scared that it won't work and that this is our last chance to have another child (we had 4 IVF cycles to get him and I don't want to go through that all again). I know that there are lots of you out there who haven't managed to get this far yet, but my longing for another child is very strong. Does anyone else feel the same? My hubby says that if it doesn't work then we are very lucky to have Daniel, and I know we are blessed, but I can't help feeling that I want more!!

hihi alison, our miracle son was born last sept on our 4th ivf attempt
and with age not on my side (im now 44) i felt i was so so lucky.
Ben is now 10mths old, and yes like you i would love another baby,
I look at all the little babies in the prams and look at all the pregnant
women, but in my heart i know it wont be possible.
You are not being selfish your feelings are only natural, i do hope
it works out for you.
Good luck alison

Hi Alison, the yearning for a new baby isn't diluted at all by already having one. I thought it would be 'oh well we've got one, that's enough' but if anything the determination to make it work again is stronger.

Good luck with ET on Monday. You can see from my signature I'm not ready to stop trying just yet either :)

Let us know how you get on,
hugs
Debra

I understand where you are coming from.
For me having a 2nd child was just as important as having the first.
Even now we keep saying how we've got five embies in the freezer and if all goes OK, we're gonna have a FET when bubs no 2 is about 9 months old. I always wanted a big family and I dont see why our problems should stop us trying to do what most women take for granted
Good luck

Hello stranger - I have not been on here at all for yonks - long story but here I am. I totally understand - Emily and Alice are now just over a year and a delight if not knackering just having twins! I would love another but DH has two already and this makes 4 and age...... blah blah blah and yes lack of money as I am not working so are officially penniless.

Good luck and take care

hi alison and everyone.
i too had a little girl{27+5} last year 2nd attempt ivf, she was one of twins, who only got to 10 weeks, i already have 4 other children from my first marraige, and was so pleased to be able to have madi last year, that we said one was enough, but it was always in the back of mind about my 4 embees.
so no, you dont lose that nagging feeling for another, and now that we have actually decided to try, i am fighting the impulses to tell everyone etc etc.
do you know if we have to wait 2 weeks as in ivf for results??
talk soon.
love jackie xx
