Hi-
My name is Sue...I'm 37yo and recently underwent IVF. Do the estrogren and progrestrone levels mean something....do they indicate pregnancy levels? I just had a blood draw with an estrogen level of 489 and progesterone of 47....any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the site.

In answer to your question, I know that the progesterone and estrogen levels are an important factor during pregnancy, but what they should be to indicate a pregnancy I do not know. The best indicator of a positive is the HCG level done by a HPT or a blood test.

Have you tried doing some searches on the Internet to see if there is any information about the levels?

Good luck and fingers crossed that they are positive indicators.

Hi Sue,
I'm new here too... and just had a failed ICSI attempt... just thought i'd share what my doc said abt these hormone levels...

which day (after ET) are u on now?

I had the same blood tests done every 2 days too. According to the doctor, it would be optimal to get the estrogen level up to at least 1000, and progesterone up to 100 to support a pregnancy. But I don't think that the lower levels would rule out a pregnancy althogether.

When my estrogen level fell to 400+ like yours (and my progesterone fell to 30+)... my doctor gave me estrogen and progesterone supports (progynova and crinone) to boost the levels... perhaps, you could speak to your doctor abt whether you need these?

All the best to you!
