Hey Karin! Sounds like things have been very eventful for you. :) I just wanted to let you know what my Perionatalogist said to me about what to expect for delivery when you're having twins. He said that the average length of gestation for twins is 36.5 weeks, and that they don't like to go any longer than 38 weeks because there is concern in twin pregnancies that the placentas functions starts to shut down sooner. So my due date is Aug 8, but I will deliver at the latest July 26th. The doctor told me not to expect to even go that long. If it's important to you for your OB to deliver you, you may want to find someone that will be there in July, if not then stick with her, since you like her. By the way...I think your due date is a day sooner than you think it is. :) Your retrieval was a day earlier than mine... you can check it here by putting your retrieval date in: http://www.ivf.ca/duedate.php I know it doesn't matter too much, but a day ahead is a big deal when your tired, big and ready to pop! haha. So sorry you didn't get to enjoy your vacation, what a bummer. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Mellow......I did the due date calculator as soon as I knew the retrieval date and it did say Aug 7. My RE says that it's the 8th. Who knows. Like you said, most twins are early...right? I think that I will talk to my OB about who she would suggest. There are 7 other OB's in the office. Maybe I will meet her and see. Mostly I will just play it by ear for the next couple of visits. She said that she wants to see my every 3wks just to keep a close eye on them.

Happy Bunny.....Great test results!

Amanda....Thanks for answering my question about the heart rate. Made me nervous. How are you doing?

Karin - I'm feeling really good! I can't believe I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow. It still seems unreal (even though my expanding belly is plenty of evidence.)

Rio - my TAC is doing great. I never really feel it (I know some people say they feel it if they lift something heavy) though the skin around the incision is still quite sensitive. It's not comfortable yet to wear the "under belly" maternity pants because they tend to fall right on the scar, so I'm having to wear the ones that go over the belly for now or use my old jeans with the belly band. All worth it though to be sitting here NOT worrying about my cervix. :D

Barbara - Congrats on great Quad screen results! YAY!!

Rio~ Moving eventually, not sure where. We won't be coming to that area though...it's been ruled out. I would like to get out of Cali, but, I am happy to stick put until after the kiddo's arrive. Less stress for me, and a lot less for me to have to do. :)

Karin~ The heart rates will slowly start to decrease a bit, they are highest in the first tri. :) No worries there. Are you going to find out what you are having? I'm getting anxious to find out!

Amanda~ How long did they say your skin would be sensitive from the surgery? Must be hard when the pants rub on that spot..no fun! Hope it gets better real fast, since your belly is only going to grow from here on out.

Sonya~ What's up, lady? Anything new? Hope you and baby are doing well.

Stephanie~ Feeling any better today? I've noticed some days are worse than others...hope today was a good one.

Gina~ How bout you, feeling okay? I think we need to get one of those maternity belts to hold up our big bellies!! Do you have names for your boys?

Ryann~ Hang in there, it will eventually get better, and you won't feel so awful. The bed rest sucks, doesn't it...I've been on it since before Christmas...it's really starting to get old. All for the babies, right!! Hope you had a good day.

Barbara~ So happy you got good results today!

I'm sure I have forgotten some of you, but I will get to you...Hope you are well! Welcome to the new ladies that joined this past couple days. Our group is getting so big!

AFM~ I am getting huge already. I really have a big baby belly. My Dr. said my uterus is tipped far forward, and it's very high already, so it looks like I am 5 months along. It's unbelievable...not to mention a little embarrassing. I haven't gained a single pound, although it's hard to tell by looking at me! :) I have an appointment Friday morning to look at the bleed, and hopefully to do the nuchal scan...otherwise they would have to have me come back next week..which I don't want to do. My hubby had major oral surgery on Monday, they broke his lower jaw to get bone to put in his upper jaw...and my 11 year old DD is sick with a horrible sore throat and fever. This time of year is so tough with that sort of thing, I hope the rest of us don't get it.

Hope you are all well!

Stephanie: I started having my cervix scanned at 16 weeks, which was the earliest they would do it. Having it checked every month for now unless there is a change next week, then it will be every 2 weeks.

Mellow: getting a little better, still have bronchitis and my asthma is being aggravated by it. I have a support belt, I think it's time to start using it. I look 7 months pregnant already but have only gained 8 pounds, thank god.
No names for the boys yet, we had girls names picked out, of course.

Anyone else have names picked out yet?

Hope you are all well.

Hello beautiful pregnant wonders of the world!

I've been reading all the posts and keeping up... been working and away for the past couple weeks and not a lot of time to do many personals. It sounds like generally everyone is doing well even with some concerns and questions.... and what's great is to see the support that's coming from others who have some knowledge in the various areas.

I went to see my husband this weekend. He works in the oilfields of Central Alberta and British Columbia and the winter months often find him gone for weeks at a time. I hadn't seen him since Christmas so it was a great treat to spend four days with him...

We had a 3D ultrasound performed and found out the gender, even though we said we wouldn't! LOL We were looking at the face and there was just nothing feminine about it... as funny as that sounds... and the legs were so long... we really thought we were having a boy... We had spent the day looking around baby shops and it's not like it was 20 years ago, there was NOTHING that seemed to be gender neutral! Even the carseats we liked were geared between boys and girls. So we just said okay, let's find out...

It was amazingly emotional and a wonderful moment when she said we are having a son!!! He was long and beautiful and active.. made my heart soar to see ten fingers and ten toes and the cute dished nose. We are so thrilled!!!!!

Yay, Sonya!! :) How exciting for you guys! So glad things are going so well. What a good looking boy you have there!

Hey did you all know that in doing IVF the chances for having a boys is higher than having a girl?? That was at least something that I read and it makes sense...especially if ICSI is used...since male sperm move faster, so they will be used more often. :) Interesting little piece of info! :D

We didn't have ICSI, but I'd read that about IVF boys.... I really had a strong feeling, and right or wrong, I kind of wanted a boy.. this might be my husband's only child, and there are no other grandchildren nor any chances of any unless we have them. Nice to carry on the family name and give him a boy to follow him around! LOL

Sonya - What a BEAUTIFUL pic of your little boy! He's gorgeous!!!

Gina - Middle names are still being "debated", but we know for sure the first names. We are 99% positive at least one will be a boy based on the results from our Nuchal Scan, so we have 2 boy names and a girl name. Jackson, Brady, and Mackenzie. If we find out Tuesday we're having one of each, Jackson is our first choice to go with Mackenzie.

I was wondering if anyone has felt the baby/ies moving yet? I felt Baby A fluttering around a little over a week ago, and within a couple of days, Baby B (who seems to be pretty high up, just under my rib cage) was full on KICKING me. DH and I had "alone" time for the first time since 9 wks and 6 days the other day and as things were wrapping up, Baby B booted me hard! I jumped and it scared the crap out of DH. LOL!!!
