Baby Signs

Post by carbev »

Anyone else considering or trying baby sign language? I'm really keen to see how it goes and would love to hear from people who have tried it. Anyone seen any difference between how boys and girls acquire or use signs? Any comments on how/whether it affects spoken language acquisition?

Cheers

Hey. We are using baby sign language. Jack is only 8 1/2 months old. we only do the signs for mommy , daddy, milk , more, hungry, bath, I love you, yes and no. I have had many friends that have had very good succes with sign language. Specially when the children get older and they are misbehaving- from across the room you can sign no and be a blessing in disguise.
