lost baby at 12 weeks

Postby wvbunny2009 » Mon Jul 06, 2009 8:39 pm

lost baby at 12 weeks miscarried at home and had to go ER due to hemorrhaging. requested a copy of my medical records and viewed the pathology report of the baby. the report stated that the baby stopped growing at 10 weeks and that my uterus was only 10 weeks in size at the the time of my d/c. i had a u/s the day before my miscarriage and was told everything was fine and that the baby looked fine and was normal for size and i just don't see now how could that be. just a question if someone could help me with the answer

I can't really answer your question, but I just wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss. I know how you must be feeling as I lost my twin girls at 19 weeks. I actually went into pre-term labor, my water broke at the house, and I delivered them in the hospital. They were just too small to make it. Please know that it will get better with time. Medically speaking, they will most likely tell you there was an abnormality of some sort and this was nature's way of correcting the situation. Emotionally, it makes no sense at all. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

I also can't answer your question, but I just wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss. I know how you must be feeling. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and lost my twins (boy and girl) at 22 weeks on 3/7/09 due to Pre-Term labor ; I was rushed to the hospital at 19 weeks following a regular routine doctor’s appointment where I thought nothing was even wrong.

My RE checked me and saw membrane and rushed me to the delivery room where he tried to put the sac back up with medication. My water ended up breaking that evening on one of the babies. The next day they rushed me to Philadelphia hospital where they were trying to save the other. After speak with those doctors the only thing that we could do was to wait and see what happens. If I would have made it to 24 week they could have saved my babies. I was admitted to Philadelphia where they gave me IV antibiotics for five days then I was released and told to see my RE weekly to check the babies. I was on bed rest and had to take my temperature every four hours to make sure an infection did not set in. If an infections set-in I was told I had to deliver both babies because there was a chance that I would die from the infection.

Well I made it to 22 weeks and delivered. They were too small and could not be saved. They both lived for about 1 hour each. My husband and I and both grandmoms were able to hold and say good bye and tell them that we loved them.

I will never forget them, I go and visit their grave every week; it does get easier as time goes by.

My husband and I just planted 2 trees today to remember them.

If there is anything I can do to help you please let me know.

wvbunny2009 - I just lost our baby last week. I went to the acupuncturist on Friday(7/3) and was told I had a "beautiful PG pulse". Sunday(7/5) night I bled and soaked my unddies, but not enough to stain my clothes. Monday(7/6) I was told there was no HB and that he/she stopped growing the previous Wednesday(7/1). So like you, I am wondering why I had a "beautiful PG pulse" 2 days after he stopped growing? After losing our 2 little ones, I know that they are fine one minute and not the next and there is no way to prevent the loss unless there is something that is happening for weeks (i.e. not growing as should). But, I have been there when 1 u/s is good and the next there is no HB with everything else being OK. Also, remember each u/s has a variability that is about 5 days. I know it does not help, but hope you know we are here for you.

I feel your pain. You many never have a answer to your question as to why. Most medical professionals go with the standard, there most have been something wrong etc etc. It does not help the grief. Its especially hard as all us IVFer's, or anyone who has struggled to get pregnant, finally get the BFP, to have it end with the loss of our baby. Its like losing all your hopes, dreams and future. I will pray you find comfort in the days to come, and I will be here if you need to talk. You are welcome to PM me.

My story goes like this, lost my angel at 17 weeks. I had started to spot, which is not usual for me. Insisted on doc appt and they checked and no heartbeat...this is after seeing doc at 14 weeks and everything was "fine". I now question if the doc actually saw a heartbeat on u/s. He first checked with doppler and couldn't find it, but said it was still a little early and did u/s. I saw baby, but didn't see heartbeat and didn't ask the doc about it. I assumed he saw a heartbeat and u/s was really quick, so I thought maybe I just missed it. My baby stopped growing, according to a different doc in same practice, at 15 weeks. Of course, doc office will never admit if there was a mistake and ultimately, it makes no difference as my baby being dead.

baylorbear33, sha1, garfieldtracy,

I am so sorry for all your losses too!. I try and find comfort in knowing my angel baby is watching over me and I will see her again one day. Big (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to all of you. I know I am still drawn back to this site, even though it is very painful for me once I get here, but I still want to support the girls I cycled with. Reading your posts had me in tears for all your pain....my pain.

WVBunny2009- I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to read about your loss. I personally know how devastating it is. I just lost my twins on July 2 in my 23rd week of pregnancy. If you want to talk, please PM me. I have found it really helps to talk/email with women who have been in a similar situation. Know that many people do care and send you prayers. I am focusing on keeping the faith that my day will come when I deliver a healthy baby. I'm sending you a prayer and big hug.
