PS - for nausea - crackers are indeed working for me - I keep a little baggie for running out of the house, or even late at night when it hits. But, I just tried mini-carrots - crunching them had the same positive effect, and I fel that I was getting something healthy in me - worth a try!

Hi Ladies!

So I got all freaked out b/c we started telling a lot of our family that we were pregnant but i didn't get my beta #'s yet so all weekend I was worried that we "jinx" it b/c I didn't feel pregnant but got call today that beta for wed was 128 and by friday it was 331...so far so good.

oh another question: what did you guys do with the Sharp's needle container?? I ordered another box b/c the first box is full but am I supposed to just tape it up and throw it in the trash??

ck121, you're definitely not supposed to just throw your needles away. My DH works at a hospital so he just takes ours there. Here's a little article I found on needle disposal:
http://www.drugstore.com/qxa1591_333181 ... harps.htm/

I hope it helps. I'm surprised your clinic didn't give you some information on this, ours gave us a big handout on proper needle disposal.

Oh Abogenpohl,
Is there a chance baby b will make it? This news is heart wrenching. I'll be praying too. Thinking of you.

abogenpohl - I'm so sorry to hear about your news. I know how difficult this must be for you. Perhaps everything will be okay. I've actually heard that at the 6.5 week mark, the heartbeat is supposed to be from 90-120, so 84 is not that far off. Maybe you have a fighter on your hands. The other possibility is that it implanted late and may be behind the other baby. Just try to keep the faith.

As for me, I had my bloodwork done this morning, so I'm just waiting for the results. Hopefully everything is good and we will get to have our 1st u/s next week. I will update everyone later today.

abogenpohl, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I'm afraid I don't know anything about twin pregnancy's. What did your doctor say about it? I'll definitely be sending good thoughts your way. Hang in there.

Hi Ladies -

Abogenpohl - I am keeping your little ones in my prayers!!! Did your doctor give you any indication of what to expect? When is your next scan? With my last pregnancy, I found out that we had lost baby A at 11.5 weeks. I had a scan at 8 weeks, saw both HBs, but Baby A was measuring 6 days behind. I don't know what the HBs were. The doctor NEVER gave us any indication of a problem, and in fact said that there was a 95% chance of both making it. It was a shock when we found out that baby A had died around 10 weeks. In doing my own research on vanishing twins, the biggest factors are size and heartbeat. I wish my doctor had told me... I wish we had been better prepared. Hopefully your baby B will catch up, or maybe it just implanted later. Please rest assured that if you do lose baby b, that it will not impact your other baby at all or cause any risk. In fact, when I lost mine, I didn't even have any bleeding or spotting. It just reabsorbed. I'm sorry if I am sounding harsh or unsupportive. I just wanted to share my experience as you had asked. I truly hope that you will have great news at your next scan. My heart goes out to you. Please try not to worry... whatever happens is out of your control.

MonkeyGirl - Sorry to hear that you are now throwing up. Was it just once, or has it continued. I hope that you are finding some relief.

CK121 - congrats on the increase in beta. It has gone up very nicely. I hope everyone is excited with your news! I have put my Sharps containers in the trash, but this was after I called my garbage hauler and they said it was ok. Some clinics/hospitals will let you bring them in. Try a google search with your state and needle disposal. That should help.

Carolyn, Sabi, Baylorbear - how are you guys feeling? Hope you are all well!

AFM - I'm really exhausted! The nausea is not bad. The cramps are still here and there. I'm anxious for my next appt which is Aug 4th. I likely won't have a scan, but they should be able to pick up the heartbeat on a doppler. Trying to take it one day at a time, and enjoy things. I'm anxious to tell more people, but will wait until the appt on the 4th.

take care everyone!

Hello everyone,

Abogenpohl - you are in my thoughts and I am sending you all the best embryo development vibes for baby B to catch up and that you see a stronger heartbeat the next time around. As you probably have read, this has happened to others before, so don't lose hope. However, Julie's wise words are also helpful - please remember you have a healthy pregnancy regardless, and don't forget to be happy/relaxed about it if you can for the ones inside you!

CK - great betas - you are looking strong!! Happy for you! (PS - my pharmacy took all my sharps and med left-overs for me - perhaps yours offers this service? Otherwise, I would go to a hospital to ask them)

Julie - I haven't had another incident, thankfully (although it felt kind of relieving at the time  ).

AFM - Now, I am just nauseous and hungry. I find that if I don't eat often, I get the "Oh my I am so sick right now" feeling in the pit of my stomache, but if I eat, all is well.... until 30 minutes later when I get hungry again and it all starts over. :? Oh well, small price to pay.

Otherwise, not many symptoms and I am back to all the same physical activities (sports and running) that I did beforehand. Is anyone else returning to their pre-meds activities? I checked it all beforehand with my clinic (over and over) and researched it, and it seems there is no impact on the baby, as long as my ovaries can handle it due to the previous stimulation.

I would be interested to hear what everyone else has chosen to do? I have more energy the more I am active, and also eat healthier, so it is benefitting the baby, too!

How are the rest of you doing?! Sabi - good luck and thinking of you tomorrow for your u/s! How exciting!

Girls,
I let you know tomorrow if Magilla Gorilla really has made a home in my belly! Ha! Ha! Make the dh laugh when I mention Magilla- he was an old cartoon nut back in the day. I'm not even sure I spelled his name right. I'm excited & a little nervous. Praying for good news. Thinking of all of you. Nausea all the time- choking in the am like I'm going to throw up But nothing yet. Tired too. My rear end, hips & thighs are as big as a house- thank you bloody hormones. I'm not going to be able to hide this pregnancy very long. Hoping work would not notice for awhile. Take care & I'll post my news tomorrow.

Anyone would like to take a guess how many? betas- 13dp5dt: 1901, 19dp5dt: 17,000

Ladies, I'm so glad to hear that you are all doing well. I am having similar nausea, with the dry-heave (haven't thrown up yet), and am hungry all the time, but nothing sounds good.

Sabi, I'm going with triplets as well for my guess... My beta's are showing close to the median for triplets +, and I only transferred two embyros. Since your betas are higher, I'm thinking triplets for sure. Best of luck to you, can't wait to hear the update.

My u/s sound is scheduled for Monday. I'll be 6 weeks 5 days at that point, so we should be able to see the heartbeat(s) assuming all is well.

Have a great day everyone!

Sabi, congratulations on the twins!! How exciting!

Monkey Girl, I've never been big into exercising but I have been trying to get out on daily walks. I'd like to maybe do some lap swimming but we'll see, I'm just being really cautious until our ultrasound, which is one week from tomorrow, hooray!

Hi Ladies -

Sabi - congrats on twins!!! That is wonderful news! So glad that you got to see the heartbeats.

Baylorbear - I am anxious to hear how your ultrasound goes today. Don't keep us waiting too long :)

MonkeyGirl - I am just starting to get back into my work out routine too. RE didn't want me doing anything but walking until we had our U/S. I usually do step aerobics, high intesity interval training, and weights. I've cut the interval training out, because I guess you aren't supposed to go into an anaerobic state. But the weights and step aerobics have been fine. Just modified it a little so that I'm not getting out of breath. Hopefully I will not gain as much weight as with my first pregnancy and that my blood pressure will stay down. I ended up with pre-term labor and pre-eclampsia last pregnancy and am hoping to avoid them at all costs this time.

Abogenpohl - when is your next scan? I'm praying for your little beanies!

ck121 - glad to see your beta is still going up so nicely. When is your first scan?

Belle-02 - good to hear from you. I'll bet your are getting anxious already for next week. Hope you are doing well otherwise :)

AFM - not much to report. Nausea was a little worse this weekend, but not horrible. I just felt like puking if I was walking around, but if I was resting it was not too bad. DH has been terrific with keeping our DS busy so that I can rest. Oh...DS would NOT share his M & M candies with me, but he kept putting them on my belly saying they were for the baby. Sooooo cute!
