baby measuring a week behind, slow hb, any hope? (GHOST!)

Post by leorira11 »

I posted a while back that I had some really heavy bleeding at 5w3d. At 5w4d, I had an u/s that showed a 'collapsing' gestational sac. My hCG was still going up, so I stayed on my PIO and went back for another u/s a few days later. At exactly 6 weeks, we saw a perfect little baby with a heartbeat. We were elated.

At 6w5d, I went for another u/s. Baby still measuring 6w1d, but still with a heartbeat. Instead of releasing me to my OB (which had been the plan), they schedule another u/s for a week later.

Today, I should be 7w5d. At the u/s, the baby still has a heartbeat but it is 'slow' (not sure what the number was). Also, the baby is still measuring 6w1d (about 4mm).

The nurse said there is nothing we can do but keep waiting. I should be scheduled for ANOTHER u/s in one more week (hopefully 8w5d).

I had some minor spotting last week (a few brown stains in my underwear, on two seperate days).

Is there any hope?

Is continuing to take the PIO preventing my body from miscarrying?

I'm sorry, These usually don't make it to live birth. Perhaps yours will make it. But this is a good time to be realistic.

The PIO will not completely prevent miscarriages (some occur on PIO), but if your doctor believes your fetus is proved to be non-viable, then he/she will ask you to discontinue the PIO. That may encourage the m/c. If that does not work by itself, he/she may take further steps.

Don't change your meds until your doctor instructs you to do so.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

nope. no hope.

u/s this morning and the heartbeat has stopped. I started to spot. Doctor says hopefully it will pass on it's own. I go back in a week to see if my uterus is empty. If so, we can talk about another FET. If not, we have to talk about a D&C. I can't believe this is happening.
