Hello everyone....reporting on the 3d transfer (occurred wed 5.25.11)
Transfered all 4 embryos...here were their stats:

Cells GES/EMET
9/1 100
9c/1 100

I did acupuncture immediately before and after transfer.
So now it's time to wait and see :-)

A warm hello to all !

I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for sometime now,all throughout my 3 unsuccessful
IVF attempts. I'm having my donor egg transfer tomorrow and I'm so nervous and excited at the same time.
I keep having to remind myself to breathe.....I guess it's just that if a donor cycle doesn't work out for hubby
and myself, I just wouldn't know how to cope with another bfn. :(

My donor had 28 eggs retrieved and 15 fertilized. I'm still waiting for today's lab report(day 5) which should
come later in the afternoon.

For those of you who had a donor cycle, how many embies did you ended up transferring ?
With my own cycles, I only ever had 5 eggs and always, only 2 were ever good enough for transfer.

baby dust to all :D

Jan: Congratulations and welcome!! :D That is a wonderful fertilization number!! I can't really help you regarding donor eggs, as I haven't gone that route, but I believe that they transfer a # consistent with the age of the eggs. So if you have a young donor and make it to day 5 blasts--that would likely be 1 or 2. But, I am not an expert--what does your RE recommend? They usually have fairy strong feelings one way or the other. We transfered 3 blasts + 2 morulas, but that was with my 43 1/2 yr old eggs so we had a lower success chance than you probably do.

Best of luck whatever you decide!! I hope that ET goes smoothly tomorrow....and you will be PUPO!!

Becca and Juli: How are you ladies holding up? Taking it easy? Going nuts yet? LOL

NY: How are you? How did things turn out? Make it to freeze? I've been thinking about you....

AFM: Nothing new. Still bored on bed rest. Haven't had a red bleed in almost 2 weeks though!! That is good news. Go to see my OB for another ultrasound a week from today.

jan, congrats and welcome to the board. This is our 2nd attempt with DE. We were dissappointed with our numbers the first time, so we switched donors. Your numbers are great!! We started with 20 eggs but 6 were not mature. Out of that, only 9 fertilized. We did genetic testing and ended up with only 2 perfect embies, both blasts (one hatching) and transferred both. I'm so glad my RE sat us down and suggested the testing, because I really feel it is giving us our best shot. Good luck tomorrow and check in when you can.

margi thanks for checking on me. :) I went back to work on Friday but took it VERY easy. Spent the entire weekend in bed or on the couch, watching Sex and the City reruns! Have had some breast tenderness and a headache almost every day. Was also naseous this weekend, but I'm trying not to "over think" the symptoms. Just counting the days until Friday. The waiting is soooo hard. Glad you are doing better! I know how bored you must be, but it will all be worth it in the end!!

Sending positive thoughts to everyone else on the board. Baby Dust to us all!!

I need voices of reassurance please.

Sorry if TMI but we are all ladies here, right. 3 hours ago I dosed with my Crinone suppository. A little bit ago I used the restroom and noticed a huge clump of the progesterone on my panty liner (there is usually a little seepage but never this much). And it was pinkish. Not red or AF looking. Pinkish. I washed up and returned to my desk at work, but it was weighing on my mind. So I just returned to the restroom and (wrapping it in toilet paper) put my finger inside myself a bit to see if I would have any red. It was clean. No pink or red. Clean

I don't really know what to think. Should I redose when I get home? Why was it pinkish? I'm scared.

Beta is this Friday.

becca: First--no worries about TMI here!! For goodness sakes the things we go through together...lol...
I wouldn't worry--there are several possibilities--could be a little bit of implantation bleeding. Or just a bit of bleeding from the irritation to your cervix. When the blood mixed with the Crinone it probably made it pink because it was just such a small spotting. Lots of women find the suppositories irritating and sometimes switch if it gets too bad. Most of the time with my Crinone I just had a little seepage...but once in a while I would get a clump as well.

Regarding redosing---hm...maybe call your RE? Is this the only progesterone support you are taking? I was taking Crinone plus oral Prometrium. I do know from talking with my OB that you can't really have "too much progesterone" which I found reassuring. My levels were VERY high (200+) but I was scared to stop the supplements at 6 weeks...so OB told me to continue. Said it, "couldn't hurt". So I took it for 3 more weeks.

Again--you are probably just fine--well, PREGGO and fine--but always feel free to call RE. That is what they get paid for. Take care. Friday is just 2 sleeps away!!!!

margi,

Thank you sooo much for your encouraging words. By the time I got off work, my RE was closed, so I redosed when I got home and feel much better. No seepage and no pink. Good news is my left breast is very sore. I know that most people aren't excited about having breasts, but we ladies know why those aches bring a smile to my face. Staying positive and looking soooo forward to Friday. :)

Hello Jan, Becca, Margie :-)

Margie ...thanks for checkin' in .....so sweet :-). My 1st beta is Monday....and Yes, going a little nuts but trying to stay calm. Every day it seems that I have new things going on. Like the past 2 days I've had dark circles under the eyes, which I never have normally. My endo pain continues....I've read several forums where ladies with endo still experience pain when pregnant. Do any of you know of have experienced similar ? Also, I've noticed I have found my breathing more shallow than normal....call me crazy :-) I've also been taking it easy....just running errands and simple things the last few days. I am a photographer, so I have my first portrait session friday (I haven't had one in a couple of months due to preparation). So I'm excited about the session.

Margie: how long before you go back to the DR ? Becca sending positive thoughts your way for Friday !!!
Blessings to all

Hello Margie,Becca,Juli :D :D

First off, thanks for the warm welcome ladies !

ET yesterday went well. Like you Becca,we did genetic testing and out of the 15 fertilized, 7 were normal.
We transfered 2 very good looking embies that were hatching already, RE recommended to transfer only 2.
We froze 4.
Would love to have twins as well but just one precious healthy baby would be a dream
come true.

I'm feeling a lot better now, not as nervous anymore, the day before transfer I was actually pacing back and forth in
our room and not knowing what to do with myself.

Margie, thanks for the "PUPO"...I had to look it up, never seen that term before, :D

My couch potato days begin.....and ordering DH around...haha

take care ladies, baby dust to all

jan, congrats on those numbers. I must say I am envious. This was my 2nd DE cycle (different donors) and we didn't get any frosties at all. I just really expected better results. I'm anxious to talk to my RE because I have alot of questions. I'm ready to start again right away, but really not sure how many more tries I have in me. I'm not getting any younger.

Also thinking of trying acupuncture. Any thoughts or wisdom on that would be appreciated.

Becca, I'm so very sorry to hear that, my heart sank when I read your post :(

May I ask you if your donor is a proven donor ?
We are our donor's 4th couple and each couple before us have achieved pregnancies.
The one just before us ,is apparently pregnant with twins.

I'm glad that you are going to try again right away...it is very hard and I also don't know
that how many more times I can take this either if this time doesn't work out....but
I guess we just have to keep trying.

About acupuncture, I have tried it during my first 2 IVF's. I found it very relaxing and overall, I
do think it contributed with my overall health. I was also prescribed chinese herbs to drink, very
very bitter ! I stopped going 'cuz it did get costly but I still follow my acupuncturists advice on
what foods to eat. Like these days, I eat "warming foods"....for dinner,I had a bowl of rice noodles with beef
and vegetables(kale) in soup....no iced drinks or ice cream.

baby dust to us all :)
