Ovarian stimulation

Artificial insemination can be performed either in a natural cycle or a stimulated cycle. The benefits of increased pregnancy rates and live birth rates achieved with ovarian stimulation must be balanced against the increased cost of the fertility drugs, the cost of cycle monitoring and the potential complications such as multiple pregnancy and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
