I had CVS testing done. I did it because of my age 38. It went perfectly, no bleeding or any other side effects. I found out the results after one week, that I was having completely healthy boys. I was nervous, I think everyone is, but the piece of mind was worth it for me.

My only advice is to ...

Carolyn,

I am so happy everything looks so good, and congrats on having a little boy! Though you can't dress them up as much as girl, boys do love their mommies! Do you have any names picked out?

Praying everything goes smoothly for the next 19 weeks.

Welshgirl,

I am so terribly sorry. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy and know the anguish you feel at losing a baby who was wanted so much. I can't imagine how much more awful it is to know this was your last chance.

Please know I am praying for you and your DH.

I had a very slow rising beta (1st-157, 2nd-217, 3rd-257) in fact I was told I had miscarried. I went off my meds and waited to m/c again.

After a week nothing happened and my breats were still sore. They did another beta which was 850. They told me I probably had an ectopic and would need a D&C ...

I'm also an OB nurse. I have seen several vertex-breech births. The only complication I've seen is the first baby was delivered vaginally, but the second baby had to be delivered c-section. Both babies were fine, but the mother had a heck of a recovery.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Carolyn-

I am thrilled everything is going so well! You made it past the biggest hurdle, the first trimester. Going forward is the fun part, buying baby things, decorating the nursery, thinking up baby names.

Just think, next Xmas you will be holding your beautiful miracle baby!

Love,

I had the CVS test done at 11 weeks. They numb your skin, but not the muscles underneath, so it is a little painful but not bad. Luckily it only takes a minute or two. I had no cramping or bleeding afterwards. My best advice is to make sure the doctor doing your test is very experienced. You want ...

Kholtan- OMG!! Congratulations! My mother laughed at me when I got my tubes tied during my c-section. She said after all we went thru to get pregnant, surely it wasn't necessary. When I see her at Thanksgiving I am going to tell her about all the ladies here with natural pregancies.
