Hi to everyone - I have been a lurker for the past few months but have been following everyone's progress and am so glad to see that all deliveries have been going smoothly for the most part. Our little Leonardo David was born about 10 days early on April 23. I had no idea that I was going into ...

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well and enjoying their pregnancies. I can“t believe I am almost 24 weeks along! Things have been going well for me other than that for about the last two weeks, I had EXCRUCIATING pain in my rib area (right under my bra line on the right side). It hurt so much ...

Oh Michelle - I am so sorry. What a horrible disappointment and I am sure the emotional roller coaster has been unbelievable and will continue to be for a while. Your family is in my prayers.

Hi to everyone -

I had my ultrasound and everything went well. Apparently the baby is measuring one week ahead so I am consoling myself and thinking that perhaps that is why I have gained 35 pounds already! I envy those of you who are still able to wear your normal clothes - I can't get my normal ...

Hi -
I just popped in to say that I came back from an ultrasound and we are expecting a boy! He had his behind up in the air so even I could tell what I was looking at. I am very excited - we were sort of hoping for a boy! Next ultrasound is Dec 4 and my due date has been adjusted to April 27 from ...

Hi to everyone from the 1st trimester thread - I haven't posted for a while (just been busy...and exhausted) but everything is going well. I had my NT scan today and the ultrasound measurements looked good - I have to call back tomorrow for the combined results with the blood tests but am hopeful ...

Vita - on my first IVF, they started out with a low dose b/c of my previously very high response during IUIs and then when they were confident that I was not going to hyperstimulate, they upped the dose, then let me "coast" for a few days before retrieval. When I went to the other clinic and told ...

Hi Vita - I had a similar experience with my first IVF - I had 18 eggs and 12 embryos and then between day 2 and day 3 all but three stopped growing and the three that we had left were either medium or poor quality. I was told it was because of my age (I was 40 at the time). I consulted with an old ...

Gina - I had my IVF done in Brazil and flew to the US 3 days after the transfer. Then about 5 weeks later (at around 8 weeks) I flew back to Brazil for a week and then back to the US, then later that week across the country. Hate to say this so soon but it doesn't seem to have caused any harm.

Back from my OB office appointment, and, in spite of some initial alarm, it went well. I am now 11 weeks 2 days and so they decided to try to find the heartbeat with a Doppler - she moved it around and around and around and could only find my heartbeat, not the baby's. I was totally freaking out as ...

Sadmommy - Oh gosh, how nervewracking. I hope Thursday goes well for you. I am sure it will be a long 36 hours between now and then. I remember reading more than one post from people who saw NO heartbeat in the neighborhood of 6 weeks and who then went back a week later and saw one so it seems like ...

He told me about 48 hours of bed rest and then nothing too strenuous until the pg test. I had to travel from Brazil to the US three days after the transfer with a bunch of luggage so I was really nervous about that but apparently it was OK. I paid luggagge people to help me and tried as much as ...

I had about 27 follicles and cancelling the cycle wasn't discussed, although the clinic discussed the risks of OHSS with me. They got 23 eggs and I had 19 embryoes - 4 were transferred and 12 were frozen. I didn't have any problems until about 12 days after transfer when the OHSS set in. But I got a ...

Santafe -
Count me among those who had a failure the first time and a success the second time around - AND I was 40 the first time and 41 the second time. The first time I had 18 eggs and 12 embryos and all were fine at day 2 - by day 3 there were only three left to transfer and the others had all ...

Hi Angela -
I had OHSS and am still bloated although don't feel as bad as I did when I first got my BFP. Apparently the fluid is still in my abdominal cavity, per the MD who last examined me. I have heard that it often persists until the time that the placenta is completely formed as that is when ...
