Hello all. Just wanted to introduce myself and also ask what I hope to be a simple question. I am new here, but certainly not new to PCOS. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago. I had to go to 4 doctors before one would listen to me and my stack of research. I had already figured it out but the first three doctors looked at me and swore I couldn't possibly have it since I am not overweight (for those who are, trust me, there IS a trade off). I have every other possible symptom...which sort of leads me to my question. Is there anything, ANYTHING at all that anyone here can think of to stop a 21 day period? No, I didn't say "cycle". 21 days of my buddy, Aunt Flow. My family doctor now has referred me to a gynecologist (she had better have a clue about PCOS) but I know it's going to be a while before I get in and I really think I am about to loose my mind....nevermind the cost of 3 boxes of tampons and the 3 pairs of jeans I now have to replace. Help?!?!?!?!
Welcome to the site. I'm afraid that I can't help you with your question about a 21 day period. How awful. I hope that gynaecologist helps you out.
I can, however, sympathise with getting the PCOS diagnosed. It also took me 4 doctors to get a diagnosis of which I knew I had all along. i too am not your classic overweight PCOS sufferer. If anything I'm underweight so the doctors just looked at me and said don't be so stupid you haven't got PCOS. I think you need to be about 40stone, absolutely covered in acne from head to toe and have a beard down to your knees before they take you seriously.
