i am very worried about the sedation used in the back of the hand on egg retrieval day.I am going out my mind already and i will be starting sniffing Syneral in a couple of days.At the moment i have asked questions about sedation and all i get told is its to relax you.If this is the case i would be ok but i have visions of myself being in a twilight zone which i would feel completely out of control.Can any one tell me how did you feel during the procedure.IM not screamish about pain im more scared of feeling out of it.Thankyou Tina

I just felt a little sleepy and relaxed... THe nurse was talking to me and I remember some of it. I at no time felt out of control.

I just had my egg retrieval done this morning, and I feel ok. I woke up quite talkative, but I felt more like myself after 5 minutes or so. You'll feel sleepy through the day. The anesthesia isn't so bad at all. It wears off fast.

I am scheduled for retrieval on Tuesday. I'm really not worried about it but having been through it before I know what is coming. You just feel really relaxed and kind of doze on and off. The nurses are usually right there talking to you. The worse part for me is I am really queasy with anesthesia. So both times before I've had retrievals, I have gotten thrown up afterwards. So that is the part I am dreading. They did tell me this time to drink 16 oz of clear decaffinated fluids 3 hours prior to retrieval and that is supposed to help. We'll see. Don't fret too much as it really isn't bad. And good luck!! May they find lots of eggs!!!!
